  1. I agree:thumbup1: Willy is 76, he is the first man in every morning and the last man out at night. He has only stopped climbing in the last few years and dropped back on the saw. Does anything and everything you throw at him, still gives the kids a run for their money Priceless
  2. And a pos VM diesel engine , yum yum Bob
  3. I have never really thought about tail lifts on tippers within this industry, it makes perfect sense when combined with arb trolleys or barrows. The down side on a 3.5 tonner I suppose is the loss of a bit more of the already poor payload. Bob
  4. Its already steeped in supposition Paul. I have looked at the various pictures/vids posted up on huge tube and the like, it would appear the road is actually quite a long steep hill. Pure speculation would say he is overweight , going too fast down hill , defective brakes or none at all on the trailer and its all gone very wrong. For sure vosa will be over this like a bag of fleas and for the drivers sake I hope that the journey and load is for ag or forestry purposes. RIP the poor chap in the car. Bob
  5. 90x90 box section is a nice snug fit inside 100x100 box with 3mm wall thickness. Its what I used on the cherry pickers drawbar so the chipper does not clump the basket. Bob
  6. Finally got around to ripping into the old MK bowser, its time for a refurb after many years of service. Intentions are to fit a crane, winch and make various bodies like tipper, timber bolsters and bowser detachable on twistlocks. I am looking for a pto for the drivers side of a turner 5 speed box. Anyone?? Serial plate
  7. You miserable gits:lol: That £190k is probably gross so about £111k take home , they have £42k a year in mortgages, probably £20k a year in childcare, £8k+ a year in council tax, pension plans, 2 x travel expenses for work, probably and expensive car on the strap and a house full of gear on the never never. Despite the bit of rental income( which attracts the higher rate of income tax) I would imagine they are having a tough time and doing some serious hours as well. Bob
  8. Inundated with a constant stream of folk with nothing better to do for most of the day but managed to bottle up my latest batch of vino and beer. Bob

    Buy a new satnav Bob
  10. I cant see a problem with a follow up call, whenever we put a materials tender out to suppliers you can be sure that they will follow up with a call to see if they have won it or not. It quite often leads to a bit more pencil sharpening , A customer/ friend of mine has always said " nothing moves unless you push it". Bob
  11. Go wash your mouth out Mull, it will never happen Bob
  12. Just put in your daywork rate and a bit for the tractor, that should ensure you dont get it. Most of this type of work is normally fixed price or at the very least with some sort of expected costing , it may pay you to get a subby in and stick a bit on top rather than price yourself out of it and lose a customer. Bob
  13. Mick the machine driver at the green waste dump is always finding saws, strimmers, blowers, hedge cutters and rakes. They get tipped off with the chip and green waste all the time. Quite a few have been fed through the shredder and those that dont normally get squished in the grab I wonder how many of these are reported as stolen? Bob
  14. The landscapers around here seem to loose most of their grass cuttings down the dual carriageway once the truck gets up to about 70mph . I hope this helps . Bob
  15. Happy birthday:thumbup: Jon boy:thumbup: Have a good one. boB
  16. I bought a cheapy off ebay for about £25, I clamp it to the bench and use it for messing with chainsaw carbs. Brilliant bit of kit, wouldn`t be without it. Bob
  17. eGg wAs thE batterY tHe sAmE branD? bOd

    2k Paint

Here`s a good reason to like 2k paint. The Hilux was looking very beat up with one rotten wing and one smashed up when an open drivers door caught a post while reversing ( kinblokes ) . George bolted on the new wings, primed them and the repair to the door, followed straight over the top with 2k top coat. Pulled the masking tape off and it was all done in half a day outside in the barn. Went off quick and before any insects landed in it:thumbup1: Cant do that with the alternatives
  20. You can call it what you want http://www.amazon.com/b?node=16410331 Bob
  21. For your purposes which are probably linked to your farm purchase there is no link. Forestry is banded with agriculture, tree surgery and log production is commercial. The council turn half a blind eye to log production on farms because they dont really have an alternative solution, they can and do chase tree surgeons off farms that dont have the relevant permissions. Bob
