  1. Nothing at all Macca, some of the very best in this industry work from the boot of a car, the only thing you need to do is read the customer the riot act and keep them away from your work zone. Bob
  2. I am not so sure that positive thinking alone brings success Stefan, determination and being a tad wreckless go a long way. All three combined with some luck probably work best Bob
  3. Ouch Get some customer diversion signs made up and point them at the kettle Bob
  4. Stress control could be loose belts, fins http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/large-equipment/73505-sweeping-s-chipper.html Bob
  5. All of what Mick said and one other. If you hang up the rollers and look at the throat of the of the housing to the right hand side of the anvil you may well find excessive wear. Small twigs and stringy stuff get drawn in at this point and not chipped. This is the housing itself and will need welding up. Bob
  6. Ah! this must be the version by Confucius Bob
  7. Coincidence ?? Boughton C Hook Winch | eBay
  8. That reminds me of the saying: Working life is a shitsandwich, the more bread you earn the more sh1t you eat. Bob
  9. True but there is nothing stopping a bunch of our nippers renting a house with the view of living cheap, they could save like hell for a couple of years. They just choose not to. Bob
  10. How about some steel toecapped flipflops ? Theres nothing worse than your feet sweating like a gypsy sitting a spelling test:thumbdown: Bob
  11. Fart about with this Stubbs Hydraulic Cylinder Calculator I reckon about ten ton but dont confuse cylinder OD with piston diameter. Bob
  12. I had a bricky living in one of my squats a few years ago and he worked in London . He was from up north, he traveled down on a sunday night worked the week and went back on the Friday. I dont think he had £300 left after his rent and travel but he reckoned it was better than what he could achieve at home. He said that if there was any work local there would be one hundred folk in front of him after the same job. I thought rather highly of him. Bob
  13. Forgot to add that there will be test points for this somewhere so best check the manual. Bob
  14. Pressure gauges are your best bet, one on each side and see what you pressure you get as the track levers are engaged. You will need to nose the machine against something to stop it tracking, a lower reading on one side is either a pressure problem or a track motor passing too much fluid ( fecked ) If they are equal look elsewhere. Bob
  15. Shame you cant back a mulcher over it Steve. Al popped into the yard with that Avant the other day, its an impressive bit of kit and not all plastiky like the newer ones I have already asked but ians not giving any secrets away Bob
  16. That would surely depend on your financial situation. If someone is mortgage free and there is a breeze of a job in town for a quick £150 I dont see a problem. If a guy is strapped to the neck in finance and needs all the finer things in life it would be a big no. Just saying Bob
  17. Kin excellent :lol::lol: Bob
  18. You of all people surprise me EgG, dont worry what other folk say they earn because its usually a load of old tosh or confusion between turnover and profit . If you only need £150 a day and thats straight in your bin whats wrong with that? Bob
  19. Thats a hell of a transformation. there`s a nice bit of advertising space going begging there . Bob

    2k Paint

For years I used synthetic paint but its not anywhere near as good or as tough as 2k. The drying time for the synthetic is way too slow and within the half hour or so it takes to tack off the world and all its insects will land in it. From what I can gather suppliers are off loading 2k cheap at the moment and are unlikely to keep stocks in the near future, it will probably become order only (expensive ) . From what I have been told the waterbased paints also take an age to harden so for the future at least painting gear or trucks will be have to be done in a dust free enviroment ( oven ). It may pay to stock up while you can Billy. Bob
  21. I feel your pain, one of our ten year old 357xp`s lost a bolt out of the muffler the other day. Apparently not covered under warranty . Bob
  22. Took a while to stop the old girl then Gray Bob

Have a squint at this Billy. Autopaints Brighton 2K & Cellulose Paint Bob
  24. Most on here would have seen badly or wrongly installed bracing of both types flapping around in the wind . We have braced large diameter trees with a combination of both, we have used 20ton wide lifting slings coupled to steel rope. Both have a life and will need checking perodically , none of it is fit and forget. Bob
  25. I would have thought the tree, the houses and everything around them would have lost their newness by the time flames got to the bracing. Bob
