  1. As others have done I just welded a pipe in the cats place when mine was pinched, no mot problems as diesels have a smoke test not an emmisions test, although someone had mentioned this was going to change my local tester said it still won't be a problem
  2. I could be wrong but done a bit of research into turkey oak uses a couple of years ago after I had a monster one to clear up, which seamed such a shame to just ring up, If you can actually season without it splitting all over the place it then I have seen some pics of really nice tables made with it, but thats a big if. I personaly thought it made excellent firewood, so did some people who I gave it to try however it rots really quickly, I have some here from nearly 2 years ago that we have been splitting this week and it is already rotting. I read somewhere but can't find it now where a miller said it used to be called "beer barrell wood"
  3. I am currently using about 2 barrow bags a week, that will go up when it gets really cold, so whatever the cost of that would be, I would think it's about £8-10 when it's going full pelt a day if I had to buy them in, if it wasn't free I would definately be using gas as the issue I have is no back boiler so we rely on the fan to blow the heat around the house, which it does very well but the bathroom at the far end of the house can be a bit cold sometimes, so I have a bath after everyone else and by then it has warmed the room up a bit Although I have to go and collect the cord and put petrol in the saws, it's a considerable saving that I am very gratefull of.
  4. Just make sure all your kit is well locked away.
  5. Nice one, really pleased for you and glad I was wrong
  6. I understood that but I meant the replacement solenoid
  7. You would be better not buying the britpart one, if it's anything like the rest of the parts they supply it will be crap, imo of course
  8. Thats not going anywhere Looking good and will be good to see some video of the saw working
  9. Good luck but I will be suprised if it does'nt make nearer or over the £10k mark. Small plots are what people want
  10. Thats been on ebay for ages.
  11. I had a rough delivery date for my truck when I ordered it but they forgot to put it on the boat, I had to wait an extra week for it, but it was no biggie.
  12. Actually it's the other way around he will need to worry about, woodlands.co.uk are in a financial position to offer considerably more than the land is guide priced or even market valued at if it meets their criteria, if its a decent sized lot that they can carve up into smaller lots and make money on (ruining it in the process is of no concern to them) Found that out from experience a couple of years ago. My advise would be try to do a deal before the auction if it's something you really want, as you may be dissapointed and amazed at what it can make at auction. I wish you the best of luck with it.
  13. Main trailer is the Ifor LM146 with the bonfig crane fitted, and for soil deliveries the ifor TT3017 tipper, tipper is generally used behind the ranger and the crane trailer only goes behind either of the landies.
  14. the relisted is a fraud for sure, have just reported it
  15. A nice truck but there is no way I would pay that much for a truck that has very little parts availability over here, I suppose some will say "they don't break down" but at some point it will need parts.
  16. Cheaper than a landy at £45-50k ? Dunno what spec landy you are looking at ? They are very nice but that's a lotta money for a pickup truck imo.
  17. it's been ID and bank transfer or cheque for a while around here, however. When I spoke to one of the local scrappies earlier this year he said that because catalytic converters contain precious metals they come under different rules to those here and can still be paid for in cash with no ID, which if true makes a mockery of the whole idea.
  18. I have gas heating and a log burner, I have the heating on for 30 mins early in the morning once it gets really cold so the house is warm then it's the log burner all day and night, if the g/f wants the gas heating on instead of the log burner she can pay for it. but luckily she likes it. My problem is the electric usage we have, the unit outside is electric heating
  19. Is it a green wheel ? if it is I am sure you are aware of the dust issues, although it looks nicely enclosed anyway
  20. I thought building regs needed to be applied for and not 100% sure on this one but the first building inspector visit taken place (ie work officially started and footings dug) for pp not to lapse. I was told renewal is generally a formality and I hope so because mine is soon to run out
  21. I would be interested in this as we had some similar stuff come in last year, it had been standing for a few years was as dry as but smoked like mad, coated the glass in sooty type of crap and stunk like hell outside when it was burning, we threw the whole lot on a big bonfire up the back of the yard in the end. Never could work out what it was neither could a few people I asked, it was also very light even for a softwood.
  22. Don't see why, quite a good idea if you are at someone elses house imo, better than falling on the floor. Although you could just lay them on the floor in the first place
  23. Several people have suggested I paint it, I will probably blow a few cans of dinitrol over it once it's lost its shine.
