  1. Hypnosis would probably help with the stress it is causing you, you could find decent hypnotherapist and get him to teach you self hypnosis, tbh you can teach yourself if you want to, a good one will teach you in one session so it's not expensive anyway, when I had all my stomach troubles I tried anything and everything and although hypnosis didn't help with the problem it certainly helped with the stress the whole situation was causing. Some decent relaxation cd's and a quiet dark room is a good start.
  2. It has huge potential but not as a serious load carrying truck. I might be going over old ground here but would it need an O licence if it was uprated, surely it's under a dual purpose vehicle ?
  3. we had problems with the rubber suspension units being too firm when empty making everything jump all over the floor so stuck with springs, but ifor do appear to be having some quality issues of late, when we renew we will be looking elsewhere. That brian james does look very nice though

  5. I would be interested depending on where you are.
  6. 130 are generally 3500kg but check the plate as there are some at 3050kg, 110 are generally 3050kg unless you find a heavy duty one or uprate it to 3500kg, personally I would go for a 130 as the extra wheelbase length and capacity means a decent size with little overhang, but they are harder to find decent second hand ones. Really ? I have an ifor tri axle and it virtually puts me through the screen when I pull up sharp especially when loaded, and my twin axle isn't exactly shabby at stopping. The only time my backside grabs the seat is if it's icy A decently setup trailer will not need air brakes.
  7. Well just the dropsides to go and mine is done rather pleased as I have exactly what I wanted, and being pretty fussy doing it myself was probably the way to go.
  8. No joy yet but I haven't really had time to look, you know the usual loads of other stuff to get sorted Will give you a call sometime this week.
  9. old perkins generaly leaked from every gasket, not sure what the new ones are like. Had a V8 cummins in one of the lorries and it was a lovely lump and sounded soo sweet.
  10. Could be interesting because I am in the process of building a flatbed on my 130, if they ask for a report they can pay for and arrange it or I take all the business elsewhere. But when I told them about the 110 beng rebuilt into a 3500kg 130 all they said was "could I just swnd in a copy of the first MOT" So would be suprised if they did want a report
  11. Rain has had a huge effect on our trade, ground is just too wet to work with now. sick of it now. I don't mind working in the cold
  12. Anything is do-able but will it be cost effective to do ?
  13. My bad, i'm tired but still 6" deeper than I go depending on where the posts are from the easier ones to use imo have a bottoming lip which speeds things up, if you drop down on one side then just chip the lip out.
  14. Standard for 6 foot panels is 8 foot post, 2 foot in the ground, bugger digging 3 foot deep post holes all day. If you want a 6" gravel board use a 5' 6" panel
  15. are electric brakes now legal in the UK ?

  17. They weren't interested in building it. I decided to build it myself and service metals at braintree have been really helpfull with what bits I would need.
  18. Well I decided to crack on and build the body myself for the 130 but after putting the runner rails down the length of the chassis the usual landrover quality comes out and the offside tank bed support rail is miles out of line to the rest of the chassis. Now I spoke to a friend who builds recovery bodies before I started and he said that he had seen one where it didn't have runners and the crossbearers were straight off the chassis mounts. Does anyone here have a defender dropside (a tipper will have runner rails) they could have a look under for me and just confirm if it has runners or if the crossmembers are mounted straight to the chassis and there is no runner rail. I will use a runner anyway for the extra strength but am just interested to know how others are done.
  19. They are coming out this week to discuss how they are going to sort it. Just a little bit soul destroying after all the work gone into it. I am currently looking into how we could do another complete rebuild using all glass fibre panels and bulkhead (with better water sealing) same with the doors.
  20. change the fuel filter, appears to be the cause of a lot of fuel error codes, mine has cut out several times, on the one time we put it on the diagnostics it said it was a fuel injector problem, but a filter change sorted it.

    credit cards

One of the best things we have done, wouldn't be without our card machine now, as an example all todays work was paid for on cards, and as I said on another thread we find for jobs some people use it as a sort of short term finance, having jobs done when they wouldn't normally because they don't have the money.
  23. Really fed up today. After 2 and a half years completely rebuilding my 130 in my spare time as part of it instead of having the bulkhead galvanised I decided hot zinc spray was the way to go as I had heard about bulkheads distorting when galvanised and our local galvanisers are well known for distorting stuff. But the firm who done the hot zinc spray made a bit of a mess of things and powder coated it aswell, long story short it looks very much like powder coat is all they done to it, and if they did hot zinc spray it was rubbish job as it is already rusting Not very happy at all I was going to rebuild my 110 hicap next but am now seriously considering an Ibex, although pig ugly rust is unlikely to be an issue, however after calling them today I won't get a kit until the end of the year.
  24. It's buggered I will take it off your hands Failing it not being a fuel filter there should be another filter in the inlet pipe union on the injection pump, give that a clean, then make sure the return to tank pipe is clear especially on the union where it exits the ip. Also too loud a turbo is not good.
  25. It can be done very easily, different people have different views on what needs to be done to it, but whatever it would be advisable to tell the insurance company
