  1. I'm quite pleased with some of my creations, whilst i'm doing them I can get a bit lethargic and fed up because some of them have taken a while, but I stick them out and here is my latest. I just wish I had the balls to market some of the stuff I create or have in my head like easy-lift guy has done. demountable camper build photos And here it is finished
  2. But makes my life easier I'm sick of moving irrigation kit & trying to rotavate gardens that are like concrete
  3. I hope they are very very wrong I don't want the heat I want it to rain
  4. Cheers for that Jon, thats a huge saving, I will give that a try tomorrow.
  5. Sorry to revive an oldish thread but thanks for the trust insurance suggestion, I spoke to them today and am moving my truck and public liability over to them, was shocked when NFU put up my tractors by nearly 50% and truck by nearly 45%.
  6. I hate to say it but having been owed money by several firms that have been wound up I wouldn't hold out your hopes of getting anything back, you will more likely be at the bottom of the list of creditors, at best you will get a small percentage. Knowing what I do now I dealt with my last two a different way and got paid I am pretty lucky now as I have an excellent firm of accountants, but as said above I have a book keeper to make sure everything is how it should be, I then go over everything with her before it goes to the accountant, the book keeper is worth every penny of what she charges.
  7. Glad to hear they sorted it quickly I like using the NFU, local, helpfull & friendly, something I didn't realise until it was pointed out to me a few years back is that implements are covered even when disconected from a tractor, oh and thier life insurance policies cover you for suicide after they have been running for a year
  8. they are very impressive shots, that must have been an increadibly hard life, I will never moan again
  9. I spoke to agriservices in essex thursday about a 105 tipper and apparently as said above ifor have clamped down on the discounts some dealers were giving, so if you are getting 11% it sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
  10. I have had 2 rangers The first was an 02 plate, a really good truck but the gearing is pretty low and the fuel economy was pretty bad, the good point with the low gearing is that they tow quite nicely especially when pulling away. The latest is an 09 plate and I hate it, I spend most of my life towing at full capacity and the gearing is the opposite to the 02 plate, it's way too high, pulling away uphill is hard work and I have to think about where I am going to reverse because reversing up hill loaded is a killer, but it's way more economical, averaging around 30mpg fully loaded and towing. Out of the two I prefered to 02 plate, had they put a lower ratio first gear and lower reverse on the 09 it would have been a terrific truck. I believe the later facelift ranger has a lower first & reverse ratio. But thats just my opinion.
  11. Cheers for that I was discussing with a friend if a cordless makita would last ok, I guess thats a yes, I was going to take a suitcase genny, but cordless would be one less thing to put on the back of the truck where it can get stolen.
  12. Here are a few of mine From when I seemed to have more time for my photography. Sorry about the signatures on them but I copied them over from my flickr account.
  13. That looks really good, and a nice little run aswell. we got some young Buff Orpington's the other day as all our hybrids finally died of old age.
  14. I never had a problem sharpening them when I used to do grinding years ago, green wheel in a powerfull bench grinder and a bowl of water beside me, don't let them get so worn that they will take ages to do though otherwise it's just as well to sling them, oh and don't forget the mask. I am going to try a diamond disk in the hand grinder and just touch them up on site this time though and see how that goes.
  15. I get them to phone our H&S & purchasing dept (my 12 year old son)
  16. Just when you think people can't sink any lower.
  17. Sorry to hear this, there really is some scum about, I hope it's covered on insurance.
  18. I went to get a price on a new one the other month, I specked the 110 hicap 3500kg HD version but after this year (middle of iirc) the HD version of the 110 will no longer be produced. In the end I went for a P reg 130 and am totally rebuilding it from scratch. Sadly the galvanised chassis arrived yesterday after a long wait and I had to refuse it due to a really poor quality finish
  19. Many an hours fun could be had playing in the mud with that That is rather impresive
  20. I run a couple of sites and both got hacked a couple of months back, to make things worse I hadn't checked them for a while and from the changed files they had altered they were hacked nearly a week previous. I now check the sites every day. I might be teaching you to suck eggs but the free versions of these 2 normaly stop most of that. Malwarebytes Ad-Aware by Lavasoft
  21. They fit inside the rear coil springs, pretty easy to get the springs out, I am currently rebuilding a 130 and was going to fit a set but having seen the state of a set that had been removed from someone elses truck I wonder just how long they will last under extreme conditions before they need replacing.
