  1. I think some zetors were 24v ? in which case you will need to keep 2 batteries.
  2. I tried to persuade them to take a phone bid but because it was short notice they wouldn't, and I couldn't get up there in time for the auction, looks like it has all the extras with it.
  3. Not a clue what they are making at the moment, as said above the export market for them is very good, I sold a really wrecked 6911 with cab smashed and rusty, bald tyres and mechanacly beaten to death for nearly £800 last year, and it went back to poland.
  4. 4911 is like most 11 series zetors pretty indestructable and very reliable, I had a lovely one for a couple of years.
  5. It's over the top in our eyes but someone was willing to pay it, whether they manage to sell the rest of it remains to be seen. It would be nice if you could find land around here at £6k an acre, if you do and there is more than you want please let me know about it.
  6. Best of luck with that in general you are going to be looking at around the £10k an acre mark for woodland around here now. I do know of a piece but tbh am after it myself, but if it falls through I will let you know. Ok it's rant time. Woodland.co.uk have a hell of a lot to answer for in my opinion, in their for sale section there is 3 lots that are now sold in alresford, they form part of a really stunning 49 acre ancient wood that was recently sold, that wood is now going to be ruined with everybody thinking they can do what they like with it and fences going everywhere. Some might call it sour grapes but I know that particular woods quite well (then called stable & mill woods) and knew that because the rides split it up so nicely (roughly into 9 pieces) it would be ideal woodland for woodland.co.uk to buy and put on again and I really didn't want to see it go the way it has, unfortunately you can't outbid someone with as much money as they have to spend and make it a viable proposition, but yet again it's another great woodland that in my opinion will be ruined, speaking to the local FC they are of the same opinion and hate to see woodlands split up this way, with fences all over the place, I would rather have seen someone else own the woods if not me than to see it go this way, but I also know it's the way of the world and there is bugger all you can do about it. I would like to know the legal standing as to right of way to a woods like the one I have mentioned, as far as I am aware when the woods was sold the right of way was granted to one owner for access to the woods and for forestry vehicles, but now the access will be used by lots of people, I believe it's called "enhancing a right of way" but wonder how the right of way owners feel about this or if they have even thought about it. I have come to the conclusion I am not the only person who feels like this about woodland.co.uk as I have noticed that near halstead in essex someone has gone to the trouble of climbing a tree to spray over one of thier sign's. Unfortunately it' not just with woodland and sadly the Tendring area is now covered with fenced off one acre horse paddocks with stupid looking sheds, and the whole area is now looking hideous. Rant over.
  7. I would imagine this is what you wanted to link too Japa 300 Firewood processor Oct 2008 -PERFECT Order
  8. You could try Barenbrug or dlf But it's not a very good time of the year to be putting grass seed in, especially if you are doing it cheap you will be putting a fairly low rate on and germination rate will be lower in winter.
  9. Just out of interest. Can any peterson owners tell me how wide a gap you need to get the saw carriage through a gateway, as the peterson frame looks quite wide.
  10. I looked at a lucas or peterson, where they appear to come into thier own is where access is limited and for slabbing lumps bigger than you can fit on a bandsaw mill, but from what I have seen slabbing with the add on attachment is very slow, like everything there are for and against arguements with both.
  11. That is a truly stunning piece of work, very talented.
  12. Albion chemicals might sort you out depending on how much you want. I have had a fair bit to do with bio, have made a few processors, but it isn't worth the hastle involved in collecting the waste oil imo (getting covered in the stuff no matter how hard you try to keep things clean) my personal opinion on it is that it should be made in places that are approved to store and handle chemicals such as methanol and lye, there are too many people out there doing it who have no idea how damaging/dangerous methanol can be and I find it hard to believe that in this day and age any tom, dick or harry can get it and pump it's vapours into the air, in the middle of a housing estate. I learnt by an accident just how bad & scary methanol poisoning can be. OK i'm off my soapbox now Good bio can be run in pretty much anything, I am going to be running my landy on bio when it's done, but it is being supplied by someone I know who does it commercially, but I will still water test a sample from every IBC before I accept it. Unless things have changed your 2500 litre duty free is only if you are producing it yourself After my accident I just run my WVO system and used a 50/50 mix in one of my irrigation pumps with a duetz engine and it eventually started gumming up the exhaust valves and exhaust stack pipe, I also run it in my Same tractors and they loved it. Just to add that again unless things have changed since I got out of it mixing used engine oil or kerosene and using it on the road is just as bad as running on red, it hasn't had the full duty paid on it so is illegal.
  13. I was going to do this with an ifor, probably still will at some point but I might be able to get away with mid mounting mine, there are a few cranes that will fit nicely but as skyhuck says nose weight is a problem but it's just one of many problems putting a pretty big crane on a trailer, you are looking at anywhere around 500-700kg all up with stabilisers, to make it stable it really needs 4 legs. The best crane that suited what I needed was the palfinger PK2900 which is a nice light crane but finding a s/h one is virtually impossible also a hiab 027 both have decent reach and lift capacity for a trailer.
  14. I am looking for the perfect sawmill and have come to the conclusion there isn't one lucas and peterson are a great idea because you can build them up around the log if access is tricky but as I have just found out petersons slabbing unit is not CE approved I am not sure about the lucas, peterson do the dedicated slabber but it's aother £11k on the price of the swingmill, the other thing with both slabber attachments is kerf and speaking to someone today who has used one they are slower than an alaskan, plus side is speed of being able to cut constructional size timber also the ability to add to the track length is handy. So bandsaws, the only one that appears to be mobile is the trekkasaw but there isn't a lot of info out there on how easy they are to move and set up, I am now looking at a woodmizer LT40 but it only has a 28" cutting width so not really what I am looking for. i'm at a bit of a loss with it at the minute, the trekkasaw is looking the best but appears to have limited track length and also the issue that twmarriott said, If I had time I would consider making one that fits all the requirements I need but of course that won't be CE approved so limited to use, and besides I have way too many other projects on the go at the moment.
  15. Using a 4" disc on the bench grinder is enough to give it the dish it needs, there is a fair bit of tungsten on them, the only problem I have heard of with grinding them is that as they get ground down they get slightly narrower due to them being tapered slightly and someone said that when they get down a bit it starts slowly wearing the retaining nut away. I don't run greenteeth, this is what I found out about them when I was considering going over to them, but decided to stick with standard teeth because I can just touch them up during the day with a angle grinder.
  16. Fiskars X27 for me, trouble is after I let my lad use mine while I was doing something else I had to buy another one, certainly makes life a bit easier.
  17. I thought you needed a bench grinder setup to do greenteeth because the tooth is dish shaped, I would imagine it's quite hard to get the dish angle uniform using an angle grinder by hand. There is a picture of how it's done on the greenteeth website iirc.
  18. Can you be a bit more specific as to where it is between colchester and sudbury (PM me where and a number) as I occasionaly get people/customers ask me if I know of anywhere, and i'll just pass your number on to them.
  19. I just tried to buy mine but the visa verification site is down so it's screwing up getting them atm
  20. I might have been interested if they were mobile, but thats a big "might" The only problem I see with this is that I would be suprised any of the well known brands are going to want to upset thier distributors here in the UK by bypassing them and selling a load direct, so that leaves you with the not so well known brands which may cause parts issues later down the line imo. When I was looking at bringing a few over Baker seamed quite interested and gave what I thought was a decent price (quite a while ago now so can't remember exactly how much) they might be worth an email.
  21. unless the flywheel is cracked just get it skimmed.
  22. I had enough so went in today and got a load of mowing done, then came back and put some more of the landy front axle together.
  23. Two pairs of jeans, an LED torch, and a t-shirt with dragons on it (I like my dragons) oh and the usual socks
