  1. Excellent video Takes some serious balls to ride like that.
  2. Not built a firewood processor, but have designed and built several other machines, and also paid to have one piece of kit built because we didn't have machinery big enough to deal with the job. various prices of stuff like gearboxes, bearings, machined shafts and conveyer belting and such will add up and it don't take long for one problem to add up to several hours to sort out which is fine if building it yourself but if you are paying someone by the hour it will soon add up aswell. unless the saving is substanial I wouldn't risk the safety/reliability issues to save what will not be that substantial an ammount
  3. From previous experience of building things, you would probably be better off buying a second hand one, it doesn't take long for the bill to start mounting up especially when someone else is building it.
  4. I used a 20 watt electric fan last year and it made a heck of a difference to the warmth around the house. I looked at the ecofan but because of where my fire is I would have trouble sitting it anywhere and also you can buy a lot of electric for that money at 20 watts and will do the same this winter, but you can't get much fairer than the offer by Alycidon.
  5. Just my own personal experience but I wouldn't touch another richards chassis with a very large barge pole.
  6. You could try Marsland chassis You can probably get them to knock a bit off if you haggle but as said above you will struggle to get one for just over £1k.

    Help??

Run a mile I think is what is meant I got a reply to a cheap camper on ebay earlier, same routine, currently working in scotland and they will pay to have it delivered, and ebay will hold the money, they are a pain in the arse.
  8. I would be interested to see how Fuchs stands up, if possible.
  9. My demount hasn't even moved from the drive this year, appears the older I get the less free time I get.
  10. The wheel on that looks tiny, Phone them and speak to Les (top bloke) they may have a demo model to try out. Blec stuff is generally pretty well built (have owned one of thier burriers and seeders) but just be carefull that it has been thoroughly tested.
  11. I'll be glad when it's all over. Complete waste of money imo. With various groups wanting to strike during it and other issues I can't help feeling we will become even more of a laughing stock to the rest of the world sadly
  12. Just looked "50 shades of grey" up on google and can't see what all the fuss is about
  13. yep steering stoppers, common fault, just smear a bit of grease on the mating faces
  14. I rebuilt my 300tdi lump (due to shagged cam bearings) and at 164k miles it still had the original honing marks down the bores and very little wear on the other components aswell.

    Vandals

Hopefully he will understand, these things sadly happen. Someone smashed a rear light on my girlfriends car outside the house one night and managed to sever a main artery spurting blood all over my truck and a nice trail up the road for about 80yds, unfortunately the police lost the blood trail at the main road, but it was worth the £5 for a s/h light.
  16. iirc if it's the 4 cylinder engine it's not as desirable as they were an arse to start, the 3 cylinder engine was more sought after, not sure if thats still the case though
  17. Or a one legged man in an arse kicking competition I do have some uses C8 Blades
  18. Don't know if they are still on there but there were some cheap new blades on ebay
  19. was using some last week that had been mixed over a year ago, appears to be a bit slower to act but is doing the job.
  20. I bought a Bosch 700mm blade online last year then had it bored out to suit and it cost £125 in total, You could try Haydens saw services who bored it for me and they said they would have supplied one for around that price
  21. I have used ifors virtually everyday since 1988, They are pretty much bullet proof imo, at first I ran flatbeds but when I bought my first TT85 the local indespension dealer give me an Indespension to try for a week with a view to buy, I took it back after 3 days, I much prefer springs to indespension units as my turf arrive pretty much where I put them when I left, the turf were all over the place with the indespension trailer. I would rather pay a bit more for a trailer that I know does the job right and has a very good resale value, I consider the extra I pay is probably less than I would loose when I sold a different make, and Ifor's customer service on a little problem I had was sorted instantly with no questions asked. I have seriously considered Atlas but decided to stick with Ifor.
  22. Try Haydens Saws they are a pretty decent bunch and the prices are good.
  23. Half an acre around this way with good road frontage would be around the £10k mark. It really depends on what the owner thinks it's worth, how many people are interested in it and how badly they want it.
