  1. The weight is something I would worry about if self building a demount to fit that, don't know what the rear axle load is but my self built demount takes my rear axle pretty close to it's legal max, they work out suprisingly heavy if you build them well, and you can do a solid sided pop top like mine is, we have been in ours at -5 without any problems although the propex heater did help in the morning It is a nice way to go though, you get te best of both with demounts.
  2. the only way to describe him is "a total dick" unfortunately the poor bugger that he hits riding like that will have to live with it. I have a severe dislike for bikers who give bikers a bad name & bad press.
  3. Shame they aren't vented otherwise I would be ordering some I just got a price from bag supplies for vented and were £3.70 + vat & delivery for 50 plus
  4. If that is not tied into a contract and you can get out any time it's not that bad a deal, however I am sure the transaction fee is not just 30p there must surely be a percentage aswell, if not then it's an increadibly good deal, most of the ones I have looked at want to tie you into a 2 year contract although the machine is free. But as said it will be a very long time before cheques dissapear.
  5. that looks similar to one I nearly bought many years ago , it had its own rail tracks for the log carriage and was used for cutting track sleepers If I remember rightly we decided there was just too much of it to move a fair distance, but a lovely bit of kit.
  6. Log-Loc - Overview I can see the jaws possibly being a pita, but I stand to be corrected
  7. For a TT105 I was quoted £3800 plus vat, that was with mesh sides, prop stands and steel ramps.
  8. I suppose thats another thing to consider, now that ifor laser cut a number into the chassis of the trailers it appears to have had an effect on the ammount of ifors being stolen, do the atlas trailers have anything like that ? I would love to try an atlas for a week as I recently got a price for a new ifor 105 tipper with cage sides & ramps and was a bit shocked at how much it was.
  9. I know it's been asked before in other threads but doesn't appear to be answered but what is the resale value of the atlas trailers, they do look nice but I have generaly only lost a 3-5 hundred pounds on my ifor williams trailers, and thats after running them for several hard years, so resale is something that needs to be factored in to a decision.
  10. I used to own/use one many years ago, they are a cracking piece of kit, huge swing on it which is far wider than my bandit 2100. Mine was converted to diesel, but the design is bad in that the drive belt load is put directly onto the rear main bearing, causing premature wear on the bearing. Make sure you get the tongue anchor if you can. As for width, the wheels knock off and you can turn them around to get it through a smaller gap. All in all a good reliable machine imo, due to the way they drop into the work you will need plenty of big boards to stop the chips flying as the skirts don't really stop much. If you don't buy it I would be interested in it if you don't mind passing details on.
  11. Sorry to hear that it wasn't good news, and I wish you all the best with it getting better.
  12. Be very carefull buying an ex utility if it's a 130, the utility spec 130 chassis has the factory optional strengthening plates all over it, which make it very strong but also a rust trap between the plates, I have just replaced a 130 utility spec chassis due to the inside being rotted away but looking fine on the outside. Apparently lots of utility companies ordered the 130 chassis with the extra plates.
  13. Does the light come back on when you let go of the switch ? At first I would check the earth and positive at all connection points, sounds like a dodgy connection to start with.
  14. Many thanks The Spider & bee shots are nice, I would love to be able to just look at them and tell straight away what species they are. I get a bit fed up sometimes that I no longer seem to be able to find the time to do it anymore. This is one of the first shots I got with a macro setup
  15. That don't look too healthy My 130 galv chassis arrived yesterday so I will start putting the old girl back together soon.
  16. I'm quite pleased with some of my creations, whilst i'm doing them I can get a bit lethargic and fed up because some of them have taken a while, but I stick them out and here is my latest. I just wish I had the balls to market some of the stuff I create or have in my head like easy-lift guy has done. demountable camper build photos And here it is finished
  17. But makes my life easier I'm sick of moving irrigation kit & trying to rotavate gardens that are like concrete
  18. I hope they are very very wrong I don't want the heat I want it to rain
  19. Cheers for that Jon, thats a huge saving, I will give that a try tomorrow.
  20. Sorry to revive an oldish thread but thanks for the trust insurance suggestion, I spoke to them today and am moving my truck and public liability over to them, was shocked when NFU put up my tractors by nearly 50% and truck by nearly 45%.
  21. Jason Gardiner ?
  22. I hate to say it but having been owed money by several firms that have been wound up I wouldn't hold out your hopes of getting anything back, you will more likely be at the bottom of the list of creditors, at best you will get a small percentage. Knowing what I do now I dealt with my last two a different way and got paid I am pretty lucky now as I have an excellent firm of accountants, but as said above I have a book keeper to make sure everything is how it should be, I then go over everything with her before it goes to the accountant, the book keeper is worth every penny of what she charges.
  23. Glad to hear they sorted it quickly I like using the NFU, local, helpfull & friendly, something I didn't realise until it was pointed out to me a few years back is that implements are covered even when disconected from a tractor, oh and thier life insurance policies cover you for suicide after they have been running for a year
  24. they are very impressive shots, that must have been an increadibly hard life, I will never moan again
  25. I spoke to agriservices in essex thursday about a 105 tipper and apparently as said above ifor have clamped down on the discounts some dealers were giving, so if you are getting 11% it sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
