  1. Is it a simple replace part job this fuel solenoid? and then it should be ok? No reset on computer etc? My local dealer had the saw in for 5-6weeks last time..... then its still not right. They say they've not heard about the solenoids and said better to buy a battery saw lol Great advice ey? Left saw i bottom of box for now and bought another pre mtronic one as my main or spare depending which saw i take with me. Cant be doing with saws in for 5-6 weeks at a time!
  2. Same sort of setup on a jensen with regards to the hyd tank i suspect.... the tank is litterally under the chip chamber and the sides and bottom of the chip chamber make part of the tank up
  3. Is yours 8t Paul? And was it farma crane? 4.6m?

Nope, totally untouched. Dont play about with saws just use them.... then the breathers eventually start to wheep
  5. Think i’d be wanting a 8t trailer going off your pics John dont need nor want anything that big
  6. Want to be able to bring it back and stack it nicely rather than in a grain trailer and tip it out into a mess on the floor to clean up
  7. More for work on estates/ woodlands and agg land. Wouldnt be thinnings. Mainly tree removal of all different sizes. Chunky bits i’d have to lift on with front loader.
  8. Looking at getting a timber trailer soon. Trying to think of as many things as I can with regards to needs etc.... This is to be used behind a 100hp 4wd tractor. I want something small enough for access but a decent enough crane.... or would I regret the smaller trailer 8t vs 11t? Also most have the 12.5 15.3 tyres on the normal agg ones.... is it better to go for the bigger floatation ones? Would it be wise to go for a de mount one to go on 3pl aswell? May be upgrading to a larger 130+ hp tractor soon..... The thing is I dont want to end up with a huge setup you struggle to get in places. Current tractor has 65lpm hyd flow so weather this is ok or go down pto route? Whats the rough unlaiden weight of the 8t and 11t trailers? Also must be braked aswell! Any advice? Many thanks
  9. Ive ran allsorts. Had an ldv convoy tipper and was a great motor. Had a crew cab iveco with 2.8ltr engine that was really heavy when empty and wouldnt pull skin off a rice pudding! Ran a 56plate transit for the last 4.5 years and it was one hell of a works motor! Recently changed and bought a 66 plate Renault master tipper. Great truck. Amazing how better vehicles can be when a lot newer.

Nothing no one else doesnt lol. just using the saw then you can see under the carb bit fuel leaking from breather

Correct on position but those breathers are shite! Must have replaced 4 on my older saw and maybe 1 on the mtronic one..... that saw currently resides in bottom of saw box as is a pos!!
  12. Poor old abandoned Kwikchip
  13. Appreciate that Jules. I will be sticking in the works to the "hedge" on the works schedule with the other tpo tree's there are to work on, was looking for clarification and thoughts of others. It would be great if the T.O was approachable. We get on very well with all the other councils / T.O's we deal with and even do works for them.
  14. A hedge... When does a hedge become a row of tree's? I'm talking with regards to working in conservation area's etc. We do work in one area where the council is a real pain! As far as i'm concerned if its a hedge we shouldn't need to give notification and wait 6-8 weeks for them to mess me and the clients about! If its small scale hedges etc I'm ok we just crack on.... Just when they start getting larger you start to wonder if there is a cross over hedge to row of tree's. Just to point out that we are fine with regards to this with other councils and areas and don't have to notify.... Its just this one council in particular that are painful to deal with and would most likely ask for notification of intent of works! I also have a large row of tree's / hedge / screen (conifers) within a con area, tucked away from road etc..... approx 60' tall require reducing down to approx 40' as far as i'm concerned I'd class this as a lapsed hedge.... T.O has said that the reducing of them would be fine..... Still I don't think we need to notify them..... I haven't spoken to the T.O just customers. T.O doesn't seem to like to answer the phone to contractors! Whats your thoughts? When is a hedge a hedge or when is it a row of tree's?
  15. I’ll give it a try if i ever get some spare time
  16. Same used to happen on old navara and now on my 60plate ranger.... its the stops for turning..... do they come with nylon on the balls when new and them nylon wears and eventually starts to make noise metal on metal? Cant see grease making much difference.....
  17. Do all of you bother with the bigger diameter stuff? Too labour intensive for my liking?
  18. You are correct Bob but thats what most folk do.... the difference with me is I have a toolbox made into the tipper bed. Thus the first 24-26” is tool box. This means that the load isnt way past the tipping ram so shouldnt struggle as much as you say. Old transit same design pissed it
  19. Was holding out due to H&S and not wanting anyone to do owt daft and hurt oneself tbh If you do so you do at your own risk! I found inspiration from you tube and then found out that they could be turned up. You see this bigger 22mm nut towards the bottom of the picture..... There's the blue knob and the black box.... then below to the right is the 22mm nut / cap...... This had security wire around it for warranty reasons so they know it hasn't been tampered with. Removed the security wire.... remove the nut which turned out to be a cap for adjuster screw.... Turned it in a quarter then half turn etc and kept trying... Ended up on a turn and a half in and seems ok. Ideally needs to be checked with a pressure gauge to make sure its ok and within limits of pipes and pack etc
  20. Not sure what to make of all these new saws
  21. Go on then .... a stihl ms500i ehats that all about then? Why similar models?
  22. Whats a 500i? Dolmar?
  23. Is it not just a brass bush or bearing in end of crank its knackered?
  24. The curse of the LR :0
  25. All sorted hopefully.... turned the pressure up on the pump :) will see how it goes tomorrow as when we were adjusting it part of the load was coming out! Lot happier than i was the other day anyhow :D
