  1. I may be looking to change my stump grinder in the new year... Currently use a vermeer sc252 which is a belting machine! Just let down by being 35" wide!! I like to do a proper grind, and grind the whole stump out. Im not a 4-6" below turf person.... Bit concerned about the weight of some of the grinders with regards to if needed to go over paving etc.... like the predator 28/38 etc Dont mind a wheel'd one but tracks may also be ok... Please if you are going to recommend a grinder, please be honest about it and its abilities..... The bandit zt.... only grinds to 12" deep, not going to take out the full stump unless i start digging the grinder in..... then the engine will be running on a big angle oil to one pot and not the other as far as i see... I've done huge stumps with the vermeer and even with its grinding depth of 16-18" im constantly digging the thing in to get that bit lower. Whats a short list I should look at? Carlton 4012? predator 28-38 Anything else? Some of the bandit 2250n look ok but hyd head must draw power from these... and always for sale with low hours on Cheers

  9. How about weld 3 spots of weld on the underside of the washer that comes into contact with the chute..... these blobs will help keep pressure / hold down the chute?
  10. Some chippers have used holes and pins in the past to keep locked in one position. How old is the chipper? Mines 2 yrs old and I like you remove the chute daily but never have this problem
  11. Went out and bought the kellfri log grab. Will be using it in anger week before xmas see how I get on but looks a sturdy thing!

  19. Which make or item do you use? Any pics? Many thanks
  20. Anyone use one or something similar? Cheers
  21. Didnt have to remove mine.... Just remove the end cap on the roller box.... then green bush is revealed then you can see the shear bolts
  22. Right, sounds better! what year is yours? Mines just about 2 yr old so back end 2016 with the silly bullet heads. Probs better to just change to an allen key head that the head fits into the green bush. (For me) Cheers funnily enough it was my lower roller too
  23. Them shear bolts are a pain in the arse! Mine came loose not so long since and caused roller to move a good 10-15mm in and out! Rang tw dealer up to explain movement in the roller to be told hmmmmm not sure that will be covered under warranty ( their favourite saying) so thought sod that I'll look myself. Anyhow the shear bolts had come undone and really loose. Stupid design as the heads are like a rounded bullet shape and nothing to grab. Screwed back tight in best we could and cracked on. If happens again which I have no doubt it will. I will cut a flat groove in the "bullet head" as i call it so I can use a flat head screw driver to really tighten the buggers up!
  24. Does anyone use anything like this on site with a front loader for both logs and brash? http://www.ryetec.net/product.php?id_product=75 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kellfri-Log-bucket-grapple-grab-for-loader-shovel-telehandler-tractor-950-Vat/122246238886?hash=item1c767192a6:g:yuoAAOSwY3tbOUuv:rk:4:pf:0 How do you get on with them? are they ok for both? Cheers
