  1. I spotted that... 13k hours when looking the other day. also they seem to have had that red newer t131 valtra for ages months! what price is the 13k hr one?
  2. Finding a decent second hand tractor is a nightmare! Seen some shite lately!!
  3. The more money you have the more you can afford to gamble
  4. Have you seen the price of valtra and valmet with roof mounts? i rang jasp up last year and they wanted 43k plus vat for a 1995 valmet and roof mount 10k hours on! pottering about and short runs it will be a nimble little thing that
  5. Now that looks mint! Great setup. Bet its 40k on the road aswell. Well worth that brass imo
  6. yup just put a full set on mine
  7. Correct they are the anti roll bar link's.... no point tightening as they look knackered. Probabilliy snap aswell if you try. Wont be a lot of brass so just order some new ones up
  8. Also another thing is that there can be plenty of nests out there but the word is ACTIVE nest And how do you not know there weren't other environmental changes to change the birds nest site? Its not Guaranteed that they will go to same site each year surely.
  9. I would say that you have done the best to your ability to not disturb the landscape / environment. You have looked at the job a few times from the quote through to doing the works. You have talked to the client and nothing has been mentioned. Whilst climbing you have done an continuous Ariel inspection of the tree's and found no evidence of nesting birds. I would say you have done all in your duty to stay within the guide lines. Also that does the lady have evidence of NESTING wood peckers or that they just frequent the garden? pecking metal parts on a pole? thought they just liked dead wood etc.... I would say that this is a neighbour that has issue with the removed tree's and or grievances with your client yet is taking it out on you. Disturbing a nest would surely mean disturbing a mother or chick from a nest or scaring them away whilst they are building a nest. I would say its malicious on the part of the person complaining and too right I wouldnt be happy with my company being brought up with an allegation like this. People don't think before they open their mouths out of selfishness the consequences on others. If the police had been rang they should turn up at some point, the only way you would be in trouble if there was a nest in with the brash and or timber. There would have to be a nest / evidence for it to be classed as a criminal act. Her word against yours but considering the time you've been doing the job and relationship with ydnp I'd tell her to go fish!
  10. Better than nothing like you say..... cant get new for old at that age? Inflation is the bugger here as will be a lot more now. Are you with arborisk
  11. I run a little fsi b20 alongside the zt (which I had before my zt). Get pretty much anywhere with the two Im more of a one machine man nowadays..... In fairness i did used to have a hb20n and hated it..... Dont want to go down the pedestrian route again
  12. Hmmm cheers for that. Still wondering what to look at keep looking at a few jobs and seeing i need to be creative to get the grinder in due to width! I do need the 26 or 29” wide machine
  13. How can the AA assess companies and how they work if their assessors are not nptc qualified assessors? Mainly to do with saw work and climbing and saw safety works. seems a bit false to me
  14. Yes this is true.... only issue with the ten series are that the super q cabs rust badly and blocks can go porus..... ideally import one from france as better condition. jd 3050 3350 3650 etc good for a lot of hours. I had a 3040 with just shy of 12k hours on and still went well
  15. Do you mean the ts115 with less than 2k hours? if so most likely been round the clock and started again at zero at that age
  16. Yes this is it. Im not trying to spend your money but its from experience where i've not pushed myself and bought something within my limited budget it kicked me up the arse. Great to buy something right and jump on it and go to work
  17. The 25k was for me. Never suggested for you. The guy with the case if he's a mechanical moron the thing could be a death trap.... track rod ends, axle pivots, king pins, brakes etc all can have play and be worn. You will find something with in your budget but not sure of condition etc. I would also say steer away from electrical things also.... I'd be looking for something mid 80's-90's Also if you want something with a loader on you should buy with a loader fitted allready! pita messing after and costly. John deere can be dear on parts... Some of the fords of that age the engine blocks went porous You also need to decide on 4 pot non turbo? 4 pot turbo or 6 cyl
  18. All i can say is its easier to buy something than sell something! Even if your carefull on all the checks something can still go wrong woth the tractor. Make sure you have decent back up for your brand of tractor with a good dealer etc nearby. 6k wont get you much. Tractors seem to have risen in price from a few years ago. Also cabs should not be welded as voids insurance Last time I bought a tractor it was over 10k mark and still wanted plenty doing to it. Smaller tractors are often dearer than bigger ones! More people want a smaller nimble tractor. If your going to use it a lot then i’d double your budget and leave some ontop fpr repairs and service to bring it up to par.... Serious business to me is running a tractor on the road, they need to be spot on! For me to upgrade from my tractor now i’d end up spending 25-35k to get something to keep me satisfied.
  19. What i would say is an a530 is a great chipper but unless its done something different its a dated design. I run an a530t machine and have done for years..... Most modern machines will wipe the floor with them on production.... my tw230 would kick its arse all day long as would munch up most forks and branches all day without snedding. with a jensen a530 you do need to cut for the chipper... that said as a contractor machine it will munch 6” all day and not complain. i like the big blades on the jensen. all in all day to day the tw230 kicks its arse.... will the tw230 be anygood after years of work? Im not sure.... my old jensen has done 2600 odd hours and still can put a good shift in
  20. Yes. Most folk dont know their arse from their elbow by the sounds of it though ?
  21. Great stuff Josh! So is that a 540t and a zt in a 6’ internal trailer? Good to know as i’ve just gone for a 6’ internal trailer to fit tracked chipper and grinder in one. Would be good to upgrade from the old 530 to a 540 at some point
  22. ? employers liability is peanuts..... 40.00 a day extra ? youd be on more profit from that then climbing ?
  23. Out of flavour and most think dated now.... Most of mine goes firewood or biomass unfortunately
  24. Hi there, Just after some clarification on what this fungi is at the base of this sycamore? Many thanks
  25. I awaite the stoning lol
