Is there any way to safe guard your business? Probation period to see if candidate is suitable? What needs to be in an employment contract? Pensions etc.... A few people have said its cheaper and easier having full time staff... ? Am I Mad? lol All info greatly appreciated Cheers

  21. That is true yes but you can definitely tell when they are ahort or dry as the go clackety... grease is cheap. they dont make the decent heads anymore either
  22. So do you aim your services at start up companies? Its like you assume you would be the most competent on site from that. Back to my earlier statement. People wont want you with all your kit just someone with work ethic, common sence and some experiance. Dont forget most decent firms will have all your kit and more.... thats why i presume you go for start up companies and take all your gear to justify your rate. to a well established firm they wont be botheres about your gear in the slightest. And certainly wouldnt pay you that rate esp when they have their own stuff and most likely other staff
  23. Lol Im the same ?
  24. Im sure most folk will allready know the most efficient way of doing the job from the quoting of it and seeing the job in person.
  25. In fairness most firms will have all the same kit and a lot more. Most would require you to turn up in ppe and a lunchbox and waterproofs thats it. how are you different to other groundies without the kit that warrents the day rate? not being arsey just how i see it
