    Biomass Chipper

I would love to know more about this. Esp the price per ton achievable for the product.... Usually log some but send a quite a bit away for biomass as arb wood. Have thought about breaking it all up and chipping it several times.
  2. I’ve always made gasket from the gasket paper and put over the item to seal (cover or plate etc) .... then used a small ball pein hammer pushed into bolt hole whilst turning back and forth to cut out the holes in gasket paper
  3. What kind of gasket is it? Rubber? Normal seal or a cork gasket or etc? Sometimes its a lot easier and better to fix with the right thing... a new gasket. Maybe just stomach it and know its fixed fIrst time
  4. Also didnt realise you are a local Ratman. Only down the road from me
  5. Pain in the arse at end of chatburn roundabout to pimlico..... how long till finished as may hold up some of my works
  6. Looks like some bark missing on left hand side. Pre or post work who knows. Hardly any folliage there. Maybe last chance salloon to see if it flushes or someones tried to get it to naturally re trench. Could have had significant die back also before works?
  7. Love threads like this .... one only a few sensible posts the rest are full of waffle.
  8. Ahh the fuel solenoid. Im still yet to replace it on my late 2016 201tcm that kept cutting out on idle! Should have been done under warrenty but hey ho. When it went in early this year dealer had it for 6 week and still came back the same. Cant be doing with downtime on a saw like that. Left it sat at bottom of saw box for the last 6-8 months as cant be bothered with it! Using my pre mtronic 201’s and no issues here
  9. Surely its the chicken and egg situation? how did they dry the wood for the kiln without it being kiln dried?
  10. Blown tyre up, drive down. Have brew whilst they do it didnt get hands dirty at all
  11. I dont have facilities to do things like this. Easier to take it in for a puncture repair like i did for 30 ish quid im not wrestling them tyres and dont have a big enough conpressor to blow them back up
  12. Oko? Whats that? when had tyres fitted they wouldnt take as tubeless to the rims.... old tyres were tubed and water ballast. They cut my old tubes the sods to get water out of them!!!! It was only a day or so later when the tubeless fitted tyres were flat as a fart! They had to go back and i had to pay for 2 new tubes have thought about ditching those pavt wheels for some std or solid wheels. Would hope tubeless then
  13. Tubed
  14. Not broke but pissed off all the same lol
  15. Id have radiator out and clean / run a hose pipe through both ends for starters till it runs clear
  16. Cheers for that Eddie that would be my main concern cash flow
  17. Thing is though that vat on yard fuel and other normal bits and pieces pcm add up to not much at all to offset the vat. granted you can claim back vat on capital assets up to 4 years so for example 10k etc but you cant use that to offset and lower your base rate. Costs are costs. Claiming the vat back on purchases 4yrs is only a bonus. flat rate doesnt seem appealing either
  18. They looked to reduce it to 47k i think it was in last budget but it was thrown out
  19. Very worrying this is. So what are tree surgeons etcsupposed to then do with their un split unnseasoned logs at yards? There would be tonnes and tonnes mounting up! Sell it to people who chip it for biomass? everything seems to go the wrong way in this country
  20. Just looking to find info on how vat registered companies get on in the domestic sector of work when pricing against non vat registered companies? Especially when cash flow is critical for wages for employees. You need to win as much work as possible but your now 20% dearer. Considering all jobs have a ceiling price.... non vat registered man prices 480.00 and vat reg man prices 400.00 plus vat. Sounds more like non vat registered man is on a better deal to me. Unless your continually buying things and considering fuel reciepts with vat at 10-15.00 a time then surely your always paying out a good proportion of the vat you have to charge? And cash flow is less as the vat isnt yours its the vat mans! Non vat reg man has 480.00 to play with and vat reg man has 400.00. do vat registered companies still do the smaller little hedge jobs and smaller trees etc? Or has business out grown these due to bigger overheads and inc vat puts you out of being competitive? hope not too intrusive of a question!
  21. I patched mine a few years back.... but wasn't just right. Fitted a full length piece of steel to mine now that's thicker! Mind you the old girls done 2600 - 2700 hrs
  22. This is a problem with the older jensens mick.... it will eventually wear through and need cutting out and patching or a fresh length of metal welding to that side of the chute. can effect throw of chip also
  23. What meter is that please woodworks?
