  1. I have a set of crampons that I use on steep banks, mainly for strimming (in the rain!) but it sounds too bad for that. Funnily enough I slipped on a wet bank a few days ago, carrying the saw on tickover in my left hand, wearing a t shirt. As I fell the fell the saw came past and cut my left arm in numerous places!
  2. I think you're out on the time, (assuming it's just a yearly trim), would've thought 1 guy with steps/a ladder, and home for lunch on the 2nd day at the latest? Might even do it in 1 long day?
  3. https://www.gumtree.com/p/plant-tractors/1974-james-jones-highland-bear-tractor-/1247170096 I probably drove that at some point, though I can't remember! :thumbup1:
  4. The first one is photos nicked from plant trader 2017 AVANT 528 New Diesel Loaders in ABINGDON | Auto Trader Plant
  5. Mainly knotty spruce, it's rare for me to remember to take a camera!
  6. Splitting firewood on the hottest day of the year (so far!!)
  7. "This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing."
  8. A friend was telling me he had some Romanian tree planters staying in his self catering recently, they were each making about £120 a day! (and working 6 or 7 days per week aswell of course)
  9. Bulldog plastic/wooden rake, £10 from toolstation
  10. The KTM hydraulic splitters aren't bad, but the diesel one they sell looks like the standard made in china contraption
  11. Just to bump an old thread, saw this video on youtube, Land Rover towing a large Ifor: [ame] [/ame]
  12. I know, for the first time in about 8 months the area round my house and sheds is no longer a mudbath!
  13. You can change the ford lock barrel to a more secure one, £100 odd, fairly easy to fit. Also look at securing the OBD port in some way.......
  14. Cracking machine for it's size the wee CS100, I've been using mine a fair bit the last few weeks
  15. Don't know about tyres as old as that but "modern" tyres have the year of production hidden in a code printed on the side.
  16. Is it for cutting firewood or ripping up slabs for timber? You would have to take that homemade guard off to cut slabs, the bracket will get in the way
  17. The Oregon one is pretty good for the money IMO
  18. Thanks!
  19. Has anyone got any suggestions of a good ratio of glyphosate 360 in a knapsack sprayer, for spraying rhododendron regrowth? Thanks
  20. There's strimmer line from Italy with pretty little shiney bits mixed in apparently "embedded aluminium particle nylon line" Doesn't seem to make much difference!
  21. See I prefer it the other way round. Blade on the smaller machine and nice long, thick line on the big strimmer.
  22. Sounds like a good excuse to build a shed
  23. First grass cut of the year today! Didn't desperately need it though.
  24. I live in Timbuktu
  25. Poor mans bobcat: [ame] [/ame] :laugh1:
