  4. Show us your Arb Diggers please.

We did some work on the Aberdeen bypass. I stood and watched a young guy on a massive 360 with mulcher head, we have a saying up here, coo wi a gun. Clearly no idea what he was doing. However the guy just over from him from mw groundworks on the fendt/mulcher was superb. Sent from my SM-J320FN using Arbtalk mobile app

  11. Scottish Arb suppliers

I don't think his or strathbogie stock much arb related gear, maybe saws boot and trousers but that's about your lot. Sent from my SM-J320FN using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Scottish Arb suppliers

A couple of years ago some mates of mine set up puzzled monkey arb supplies in Perth. The plan was good, however no one came. Everyone complained prices were more expensive than online so they shut up shop after I think one year or so, sgm couldn't make it work. Plumbers in Kirkcaldy sold up and shut the shop because not profitable enough. All our small local dealers complain of lack of trade. We bought 3 saws and a hedge cutter recently from our local husky dealer and they said best trade they done all year. If we don't support them they will go away. No one's going to open a big arb supplies in Scotland unless they can instantly be in the same league as honeys/frjones/etc. Sent from my SM-J320FN using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. Yard Clearances

Hi Luigi, Is Dundee to far? Brett
  14. Subbing for Ground Control

We did a year with them. Glad to be out of it and won't go back. Rates for grounds maint stuff is pathetic. They had me running all over pricing tree work that we were never awarded. The only big tree job we won was canceled the night before. We had 3 new area managers in the year and no one new what was happening. The whole thing felt like a shambles. I know another local to us who are in their second year and is their main income (grounds maint) and are looking for a way out. We did work on the Aberdeen bypass and we're short changed 7k by the company that contracted us in. GC put them under for 100k. There was nothing left for us once the liquidators devided up. 15. Bobcat vs small loaders

we use a torro dingo when occasion calls. in the right situation is an awesome bit of kit, really surprising what it can lift, really good access, low ground pressure, if you use boards on turning points leaves virtually no mess. terrible ground clearance (forget mud), only lifts to 2m and no reach.
