  1. Got loads of Giant Sequoia here that looks a lot like that when freshly cut
  2. I built a shelter 32ftx19ft (roof) on my own, apart from a mini digger at the start. There's some photos of it, and other peoples structures, in the 'show us your log shed' thread in the photos forum Unless you have far too much spare time I would be tempted to buy ready cut timber for the basic structure from a good local sawmill, only a few hundred £. I used old hydro/telegraph poles for the uprights, but peeled bark trunks of a suitable species would do.
  3. Maybe that's the idea, anyone who tries to steal it will get injured

Is it for running a long thick line or a metal blade? The Kawasaki BK53ED looks identical to the yellow Stiga branded one I bought last year. It's an ok machine for the money, don't know if it would be up to daily use/abuse though
  5. Double check there's no loose/snapped bolts on the machine
  6. Just to update, was speaking to a mate and he said he had a black ibc tank with no cage, and a small trailer. I had an IBC cage here, so with the addition of a tap off ebay I built a small bowser out of it. Obviously it doesn't meet the regulations as it's not in a bund. The driver was fine with pumping 500l of red diesel into it :thumbup1:
  7. You also get neck band type ear defenders: Arco Website - Peltor Optime II Ear Defenders Behind Head H520B SNR31 from 3M - Product 248100
  8. Yes cutting a bit of plate to make a pair of shims was a suggestion from a mate! Probably was turning too hard, will keep an eye on it for now
  9. Have you ever had a problem with a drive sprocket occasionally slipping in the tracks? Seems there's no way to adjust the track tension, it's just a couple of big springs?
  10. Sorted, Was that TCP who replaced it? Do you have many of their machines?
  11. ^Looks like I need to buy some asap then, phoned up this afternoon for a price and it's 51.3p/litre for any amount, and everything costs more up here!
  12. Is it possible to redirect the exhaust more away from the operator? Bit of flexi pipe on the end to change the direction it blows?
  13. A couple months on and it's almost there. It now has a nice big table - undecided if I will add fold out extensions. I had fitted a hydraulic cooler but it obviously wasn't up to the job as it blew up after a few hours use . So I sought professional help with the hydraulics, and they did all the testing etc, fitted a suitable oil cooler with thermostat, and also a bigger valve, as that was restricting it. So the splitter now has auto return I rigged up some LED lighting, as there's so little day light in the winter. It took a while to find suitable lights, most are far too bright for a small machine and would just dazzle you. there's 10 small stud lights and 2 mini worklamps. They're just perfect It still need some more painting but it's too cold now (no heated workshop!)
  14. Phoned one of the oil suppliers, girl in the office said no chance of delivery to drums or an ibc - think it was a case of computer says no I bet the driver would do it anyway!
  15. Ooooh I like that IBC and pump! £300 including vat and delivery though
  16. Christmas doo: Pigeon delays removal of Fort William tree - BBC News :laugh1:
  17. I don't think they would pump into an IBC or drums (I have a pile of 200l plastic drums!)
  18. Looking to get a small oil tank to accept red diesel deliveries, circa 1000L, and ideally a slim one to hide out of sight Both steel and plastic tanks (new) start at the same sort of price, £300-£400 for this size, any suggestions which is better? Steel rusts but plastics go brittle and crack? And plastics need a full width base but steel only need pillars? I do plan to move at some point in the future so might have to empty it and take it with me! I did buy a cheap 2nd hand steel tank locally but when I gave it a good clean up at home I felt it was too far gone so cut it up to make a coal bunker!
  19. I'm sure they're good wee vans, but any vehicle being driven all day 5 days a week isn't going to last long!
  20. Keep the tools for now, you'll need to sell them later this year to buy a new van Most of all enjoy what you do. "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life" :thumbup1:
  21. The "drive through" tree is a different one, mdvaden posted some info I remember watching this video a couple of years ago: [ame] [/ame]
  22. The hydraulics are obviously modified on the crusher machine you have, but on the standard TCP HT500 dumper, the small pump does low speed, and both pumps combined do high speed "1.3 Hydraulics Refer to the Hydraulic Schematic drawing in Section 7.22 Carrier Hydraulics Mk4 –2006 Drg 1599. The diesel engine drives a hydraulic pump coupled to its shaft. This pump provides two outputs: • a 3 cc per rev, low flow, high pressure output for low speed and general use and • an 8 cc boost output. These are combined to provide an 11 cc/rev high flow, high pressure boost drive for the high speed track drive."

  24. Why would the police be interested in a bonfire? So long as it's safe and under control people have nothing to complain about?
