  1. Get someone local in with a machine and pay them with the wood
  2. Does anyone use the Husqvarna ones in the rain, how waterproof are they?
  3. At my parents house there's a few old blackcurrant bushes (been there for decades!) not far from the septic tank soakaway, every year there's a bumper crop of blackcurrants!
  4. I think octopost was being supplied through the highland machinery ring, might be worth a try
  5. Depends what species it is! Also probably not a tonne, more like a "bundle", so go and have a look, and it will vary from day to day. There is a very good sawmill only a couple hundred yard from me but seems all their slabwood is reserved for others! I did once get a few loads, think it was £25 per bundle which when cut was about a loose 3 cubic metre (loaded in my trailer), most didn't need split and you got some kindling out of it too! That was larch, which makes fantastic firewood.
  6. Send me a pair and I'll write you a review
  7. Just bought a new Laser socket set the other day to add to the collection, 1/2" drive, 6pt sockets up to 32mm, £40 from toolstation
  8. To me a strimmer is anything with a line head on! Be it 25cc or 55cc
  9. Thanks to everyone who replied, new oil seal came in the post today and it's all back together, no sign of a leak but the real test will be when it's sat chugging away on the same spot for hours on end Downloaded and saved the manual, cheers, had tried looking online for one before!
  10. Bare in mind the neighbour might be lying, it could be theirs! Try and have a word with all the nearby houses, don't point the finger at anyone, tell them if it happens again you will have to report it to the police and install cameras etc
  11. Remember it will be full of chain oil, so dunno how healthy it would be for animals?
  12. If I remember right you have to (supposed to!) use the tacho for the whole week if at some point you've been in the scope of needing it. ie pull a trailer on the Monday and you have to use the tacho for all your driving, trailer or not, for the rest of the week Of course, if you got stopped and checked on the Tuesday, they wouldn't know what you'd been up to the day before! And all other time spent loading/unloading/working eats in to your driving time. My brother is a hgv driver, does it still count as his weekly rest if he comes and helps with logs on a weekend
  13. Got the flywheel off with a homemade puller (bit of steel) I assume it's the crankshaft seal, plenty of muck splattered round behind the flywheel? How do you change the crank seal, is it possible to do it without splitting the engine open?
  14. UV dye, that sounds very csi!! Finally had the chance to start taking it apart, nice coating of oil and muck
  15. I had a set of the lidl ones but they packed in within a matter of weeks! Lost the receipt so no chance of a refund
  16. I got a 1600kg one off securefixdirect (on ebay) years ago, good bit of kit, doesn't get used that often but has proved very useful and has pulled some fair weights Wire Rope Hoists
  17. Assuming it's on grass (not a driveway!) you could push 4 road pins into the ground to hold the loops on the bag
  18. If you ever fancy working for free in the highlands I'm sure I could include digs
  19. Honda for both Or atleast a Honda engined mower
  20. You can get chinguards for visors, like this Protector - Interchange 250mm Acetate Visor with ABS Chinguard - Certified to EN166 F - Helmet Sold Separately - [TY-IV901AA] Keeps your mouth covered (most of the time)
  21. What about wildlife, nothing like a mashed up frog being splattered over you , that's why I always strim with a full plastic visor
  22. [ame] [/ame] :crying:
  23. Thanks I did change the rocker cover gasket a couple months ago as it seemed like an easy place to start! - the old gasket had a small nick in it but it obviously wasn't that. It looks like it could be somewhere in behind the exhaust or fuel tank as that looks like the highest point that is damp. I will see if I can investigate further later on in the week. It's sods law that if I take it apart I will need it the next day!
  24. Just to bump this, spring is in the air, and the grass is starting to burst into life I can be contacted on 07725 513540 Cheers
