  2. i run a mint condition older type 365 special although it's got an aftermarket 75cc kit and muff mod now. Excellent saw in my humble onion.
  3. Tink there is an arb chap down Exmouth way that claims to have a fairly recent (less than 3 years old) 3.0 Invincible remapped and souped up to 230bhp !
  4. Well i have seen and used a new Haecksler a couple of months back. My mate bought one from Jim and yes it very good and has it's place in the market for sure, but it is not as good as a CS 100 (i run the older GMR100) as i have tried one of these too. Would i consider a Haecksler chipper ? yes if i was doing smaller pruning/garden type jobs, but as i tend to do alot of larger diameter stuff i favor the Greenmech for anything up to 4'' and anything bigger gets hit with the big Bearcat chipper.
  5. That is customer service right there.
  6. PeteB hit nail square on't head again
  7. mine. Tree Surgeon in Exeter - Ken Hogan Tree Services
  8. Hi Coin, I have an old GMR100 (Fore runner to the CS100) that is petrol driven. Greenmech used to supply a kit so it could be attached to a tractor 3 point linkage but still being driven by it's own petrol engine. Now i dunno if they supply this kit for the newer CS100 but if they did you could have the best of both worlds in that it could be tractor mounted or used in the conventional fashion and carried about in a van, trailer or pickup truck. Either way someone handy at fabrication cud weld up a 3 point linkage kit i reckon.
  9. thanks very much people but it ain't gonna happen as someone has tendered a silly price and i'm not working my ass off fer peanuts.
  10. can anyone recommend a place that hires out grinders please.
  11. Looking to rent a stump grinder please. Size wise something similar to a bandit HB20 or similar. Thanks alot, Ken:001_smile:
  12. coming from Aus or NZ they shud all be RHD. I tink the one in the pic above is RHD. Mega bucks though.
  13. TTP are you saying you bought the tool locker and made the complete chip box for £1,300 including materials ? If so that is amazingly cheap. An excellent job there, u and yer Dad shud do it as a side line if the tree work ever slows down.
  14. Hi Stubby, I have not tried them but have seen them in use and they are to limited in what they can do for me, but what they can do is good but not enuf to justify buying a pair.
  15. Faff and a waste of time in my humble onion.
  16. Blair, yew me and that Tony and Cherie must be related!
  17. Glad to hear it.
  18. yep and pull the rubber flaps to one side (fnar fnar) and do a visual inspection (visor down of course as they do spit back quite violently) to ensure it's clear after blowing it thru.
  19. Yep thats the important bit. It's so easy to leave a small bit of wood in the hopper which doesn't get processed and ejected so when you stop the motor it falls down between the drum and hopper. If it's chunky enough it will jam on the blades and stop the enjun from turning over next time you go to start it. For that reason alone i'm glad i only have a pull starter as i reckon this cud potentially damage an electric starter mechanism (plus i don't have the weight of the battery and starter to push/lug around too). I use the blower to clear the hopper when the enjun is still running and only turn it off when i'm certain there is nothing to obstruct the rotation of the drum. If and when i get a blocked up drum i tilt the chipper backwards and lay it on the ground and actually squeeze me curvy bod head first up inside the drum and use a short length of stick to rotate the drum in a backwards direction and clear the debris that is causing the blockage. This looks very dodgy and dangerous and you don't wanna be seen doing it roadside but it works
  20. holy thread resurrection Batman !
  21. yep i agree
  22. I know Halse! cheers TMT !
  23. Anyone successfully done a 'de-cat' on an Echo 360 TES / WES ? Reason i ask is i have a spare exhaust with the loose baffle/cat and it's rattling around on me work bench. I managed to break out the core of the cat with a hammer and screw driver (as it's ceramic type material) but i have yet to successfully remove the remaining steel ring surround from inside the exhaust. When i do i may try it out and see what the performance is like.
  24. As above tip site required for about 6 transit loads of wood chip and it's associated cordwood (conifer). Thanks, Ken.
