  1. roofbox ?
  2. Chap that lives in my area has alot of kit that is well secured away at noight, locked in sheds, yard secured etc. He has a landrover that is sat in the yard (no more room in the sheds) and the thieves keep draining the derv out of it. Seems a bit pointless as they get very little derv in terms of value it would seem. He has had police come round and tell him his visible CCTV cameras are next to useless as the baddies simply zap them with a lazer which apparently 'scrambles' them for a short time ! He was telling my missus yesserday that he has noticed blank sections when he has replayed the footage and assumed the kit was faulty! Tink people will need to have covert cameras dotted about their yards to catch these scrotes.
  3. Hello Ty, I use this one. I was gonna buy the most expensive one that Bulldog sell but the sales guy told me they are very fiddly to use and advised i buy the yellow one as it's easier to put on and deal with on a daily basis and the udder ones are basically to be put on for extended periods! I do not know if he was referring to the one yew have linked above. I also use a hitch lock along with a wheel clamp. I reckon Bulldog products are good in my opinion. 7. looks like a bug/grasshopper when ya look at it from the front.! Serious tyres/rims on the back axle.
  8. All the way from Eire too.
  9. funny ya shud mention that as thas whats happened to mine recently. Echo supplied a new side casing umder warranty though. I run mine on Stihl HP (red oil) and when i bought it there was no mention of semi synth oil when i enquired with the supplying dealer. Mine used to 'run on' only slightly but does not seem to do it now. saw is 18 months old now and i'm HOPING TO START RUNNING ALL MY KIT ON REDLINE 2T OIL (hint hint TCD:thumbup: ) Tink my oiler is starting to play up now too. Overall i'm very pleased with this saw and wood buy anudder wan if the need arose.
  10. i wonder if the Cabstar has a LSD on the back axle ?
  11. Agree, I often recommend fellow arbs that i know are honest and do a good job and are basically the type of folks i'd want at my own property doing tree work for me. A customer told me last week of a few people that turned up to price a large oak fell and he was wary of them as he felt they were 'blagging it'. After he informed me of these blaggers plan on how to deal with said tree i had to agree with he. I won the work despite being £200 more expensive. I think it's 'childish and poor form' to go round slating the competition regardless of how good or not so good they may be. I usually dispense with the 'blaggers' by providing references of recent work and showing a customer my relevent quals and insurances as quite a few down this way run without any of these !
  12. Me tinks it's worth £2, 200 but wait till Feb to shift it on.
  13. i'm a big fan of manual free wheeling hubs. Ya just gotta plan ahead accordingly. I always drive on the road with 'em in the unlocked position so i can use 4L to shunt an overweight trailer about without straining the clutch and transmission. If the going looks sticky/muddy i 'Lock' them and engage 4H or 4L.
  14. thas a good show dat APF.
  15. I knocked over a fair size oak on friday morning, it hit the deck at 10.20am. The customer BACS'd the money to my account about 11.30 am ! We were on site till after 5pm but he was still happy to pay up despite the job not being finished. Wish they were all like that.
  16. WOOPS ! it's enroute to me OMTC !!! I had a good long stare at the spare wheel mechanism deudder evening and the socket resembles a 'Lemon' in terms of shape. Have a look at your's to make sure it's the same design. Biggar has sent the windy ting to me and it'll be here in a few days so it'll be interesting to see if it'll slot into my 'Lemon' Oil report back on my windings errr findings:laugh1:
  17. In the ideal world i'd need summit that's a 4x4 tipper, is somewhere in between the size of a Unimog and a Nissan cabstar (a small enuf 'footprint'), with 7.5 ton gross (that can be downplated if i want to tow more than 750kg without the need fer a HGV ticket). As is i run a 4x4 double cab with rear seats removed so i have plenty of storage fer kit along with a transit crew cab tipper. I also run an Ifor trailer. Yesterday i needed to shift about 4.5 ton of cordwood so wifey drove the transit and i drove the 4x4 pickup with the Ifor in tow. Yes both vehicles were probably over loaded but we got all the cord off site in 1 foul swoop. A Grafter 4x4, Canter 4x4, Iveco 4x4 would be nice but my budget won't stretch that far at the moment so i make do with what i've got.
  18. Done, Cheers Biggar.
