  1. when i bought a Transit tipper last year my missus wanted me to get rid of 'The Chav' (old Isuzu 4x4 pickup) and buy an Astravan fer running around / quoting etc. I refused as it has a (non tipping) chip box that has 'saved the day' on several occasions and it probably takes 1.5 cube of chip (i'm guessing that figure). It means not having to leave site with the transit to tip out near the end of the day as i can be quite a drive from a tip site at times so we blow the remaining chip into 'The Chav' and i fork it out later on that evening. Plus it's not worth alot of money now and is cheap on spares and is easy to fix as it's old skool and 'no tech'. Can't really see me wanting to get rid of it despite the fact it's thirsty as i don't mind filling she up if it's making me $$$'s. It does not look cool though !
  2. gonna order mine as mornin'.
  3. my black attachment loop is nearly silver now as the krab as worn the paint off of it:001_rolleyes: Anyone fitted the 'spiked bumper' (felling dog) part no: C304-000000 ?
  4. shud be aok on a lorry like that i would tink.
  5. Think there can be problems associated with this conversion as it can chew gearboxs and axles apparently.
  6. Those of us that have the saw on a 10 inch carving bar with 0.43 cutting gear already know the answer:001_smile:
  7. where abouts did ya get pulled in ?
  8. ditto !
  9. Yep had mine about 8 years now and i love it. No tech engine with no ECU's to go wrong. Pulls well too, just a pity it can only carry bout 800kg in the back. Tink they can lug 2,700KG legally though.
  10. yew got a Transit crew cab Marc?
  11. no worries Joe, i'm a fanboy of no particular brand. I simply buy whatever i feel is good for me regardless of manufacturer and price. I like models from Husky, Stihl, Echo, Dolmar etc but i'm very picky as to which model i will buy after i have researched it and stroked my beard awhile afore committing to a purchase. As fer people who feel red faced when contemplating buying any udder brand apart from Husky or Stihl, 'i feel fer ya bro!' but i'm capable of making my own mind up when it comes to saws regardless of the Brand or assumed 'Kudos'.
  12. 02 Rodeo are ya sure? maybe it's an import as the UK rodeos started on an 04 plate i believe. Could be the old skool 'TFS' model which is basically a Vauxhall Brava. Mine's a W reg 3.1TD, runs on manual hubs too which are brilliant.
  13. that's a good question.
  14. was that to a Rodeo TheHungrySquirrel ?
  15. Mine's on a 10 inch stihl chain and carving bar. I know you all tink I'm mad but i decided to really push the saw to the limits, hence me knocking out large diameter limbs rather than getting the 560XP on a 20 inch bar sent up. This tiny Echo is a shockingly capable saw and it's gonna render my Echo 360TES obsolete! I reckon all climbing saws shud sport this .43 gauge chain/bar combination as it makes for less climber fatigue and cleaner/crisper cuts. Echo are gonna sell a serious number of these units. Anyone new to this game and reading this and is confused as to whether to buy a small topper (Echo 2510TES, Stihl MS150T ETC) versus a full fat version (stihl 201T, Echo 360TES, Husky 540XP etc) shud in my opinion buy a tiny Echo or Stihl.
  16. Did a medium /large oak dismantle yesserday and was shocked as to how capable this wee saw is. It was coping with 14 inch diameter limbs with aplomb. I reckon it would give a MS200T a run fer its money.
  17. me too. mine is years old but mint. it's also running a big bore kit which i tink is 72 or 75cc and muff modded. It's wears a 24'' c&b.
  18. Wisecobandit dropped by earlier and i did a couple of cuts thru 11'' beech and he was impressed by the Tiny Echo.
  19. 395xp is an awesome saw. 3120 is huge and heavy takes nearly a whole combi can to fill it up! 3120 is actually a very easy saw to start when warm and the chainbrake mechanism is a clever design. I blocked down a copper beech on spikes last week with a 3120 on a 42 inch c&b. It was tiresome.
  20. i started my 2510 yesserday fer the first time, stuck it straight into a 3 foot long 12 inch diameter piece of oak (not green but about 3 years old) and i was genuinely amazed at how the ickle Echo steamed thru it without bogging down! Mine is on the Stihl 10 inch .43 Stihl chain/bar combination. I'm gonna do some timed cuts against the Echo CS360TES as i reckon the wee one may be faster!
  21. Remove the spark arrestor from the zorst.
  22. any chance ya cud do a video or take some pics of this problem ferrous to peruse?
  23. none i assume as my saw was sent out with a stihl chain and bar combination instead of the stock Echo items.
  24. ps. I actually spoke to RobD yesserday and i felt faint with eggsitement, i was too redfaced even o'er the telephone to ask fer he's autograph Excellent service indeed, this is the second time i have availed of his wares and it won't be the last
