  1. LOL i got the same problem on an 02 transit as i don't have that 'winding rod' to lower me spare tyre ! I have got the original jack though but i'm gonna buy a 6 ton bottle jack as they are easier to use. And i don't fancy trying to jack up a transit full of chip with the flimsy Ford jack. Biggarlogs if u have a second winding rod you want to sell then i'll have it please.
  2. Sounds like she needs to ring you at some point in the future if she gets lucky and has a successful appeal. Have u looked at the tree in terms of condition/health etc? Tink she's flogging a dead hoss.
  3. LOL good clip TCD....it led onto this one though. [ame] [/ame]
  4. Alf = Alison Moyet fer crying out LOUD so who is she then? (don't tell me it's yer sminky looking missus!) tink i'm gonna try this Redline oil as i've just this minute been searching fer a distributor in the s/west.
  5. doubt d'oil had ought to do with the meltage though. You really rate that Redline oil den ? PS is dat Alf in yer avatar TCD ?
  6. nah too much of a faff trying to get stuff in and out. buy an extra cab with suicide rear doors and shelve it out, that way you have more room than that silly roller shutter ting. Problem is Hilux extra cab doesn't have the suicide doors on their version, so it'd be a Ford Ranger fer me if i was in the meerkat ferra new 4x4 tipper.
  7. look here Javelin10. motor bike garage | eBay
  8. Ok took the 'scorched' saw back in to R&T to be told another customer had contacted them to say both his Echo 360WES saws had caught fire (tink he's an Arbtalk member too). They asked me what i wanted to do so i asked them to give me back the original exhaust (which they still had sat there) with the loose CAT/Baffle as it was a slimmer profile but would not come into contact with the plastic side casing/shroud, so no more meltage or flames! I tink they offered the other customer new saws as he's lost faith in the product. They are ordering me a new exhaust and side cover under warranty which is fine i said, as long as the new items are not going to suffer the same issue. I checked out the various part numbers of the 360 WES versus the 360 TES and the answer looks simple to me; My saw would require a new TES exhaust but with a WES side cover (as it's more bulbous). Lets see if Echo UK do the same and decide to sit both saws side by side and work out a simple/effective solution. They were harping on about the type of 2t oil i was using and what kind of use the saw had! FFS i laughed and said i used Stihl HP and i used the saw for tree climbing work. Will update this with more info/pics.
  9. you gonna buy the 18hp version ?
  10. yep they did a few tippers based on that heavy duty chassis but they are 4.2 ton so you'd need an operators ticket, tacho etc.
  11. dealer needs a good kick up in d'arse.
  12. I've done it on a few work Transits in the past, and i'm gonna do it soon on my own transit. Nothing hard about it really. Just buy the required sheets of plywood and say tree be tree errrrr 3'' x 3'' baton and have a think about how many shelves you need etc. I generally have 2 shelves so that gives you top, middle and bottom (where the saws and fuel cans sit on the floor and cannot drip thru and onto climbing kits etc) I tend to use plastic tubs or those rectangular plastic recycling bins to store rigging kits, etc so you need to allow enough height to be able to slide the likes of these in and out.
  13. lovely bit of kit but the tool box is a bit of a joke, better than nothing i know.
  14. Company i worked fer a 3 years ago looked into getting The new (at the time) Transit Tipper, they never took it any farther though. I asked the boss about it at the time and he said they were only available as a single cab tipper and he wanted all his to be crew cabs so that was the end of it. W.
  15. Jon i wood imagine that more down to the driver than the tyres though.
  16. Fair size Scotty pine overhanging a garage so will zip line most of it out. And a large back leaning oak (over a garage too) which we will get the winch tractor on and yank it over, it's 5 foot across the base though.
  17. Looked in the latest stihl catalogue and they offer the biggest of it's blowers in either 4mix or standard 2 stroke engine design.
  18. what country are you in Metsaman?
  19. Finally got the truck out and running apart from endless little niggles to fix 😒 that a late registered 3.1 ? looks loike she's been lifted. I have the same wagon and really rate them highly.

    Ms084

ya i got an 084 and Alec is correct re. spares availability. An 088 or an 880 would be a better long term bet. My 084 will eventually be going to Spud fer porting and a muff mod.
  22. yep a tall douglas fir sits right beside the river, 'it doesn't look as tall' as it actually is due to the reasonably small girth.
  23. Buy 1 it's perfect fer what yer doin.
  24. They mentioned cizzer Jon but no mention of BIG BUTTS!
