  1. If your advertising tree work or stump grinding etc the caller on the end of the phone wanting a quote over the phone is sometimes another would be tree worker wanting to know your going rate.
  2. Trouble is that these irresponsible dog walkers know as much about the country ways as i do about quantum physics, These are town folk moving into the country and i blame the sale of council houses in the villages, which are now full of yuppie types who have watched to many episodes of river cottage.
  3. I always get the impression that your current insurer looks at it like this: We have your custom so we will increase your renewal price and hope that you cant be bothered to shop around. I never stay with my current insurer, i just pump my details into compare the market etc and go for the cheapest. I always go for fully comp, protected no claims and the difference from one company to the next can be as much as £800.
  4. Id say it was a matador, looks to big to be a douglas and the matador did have a 7.7 litre engine as stated in his advert.
  5. I used to a bit of off roading, my vehicle was a sj413,with a set of grizzlys, this could go many places that the souped up landies couldnt,as you say down to the narrow wheel base. Landies v hilux: hilux everytime for me, this is probably a bit unfair to landrovers as my last landrover was in 1983 and was made in 1963, a 2 & quarter petrol (12mpg) 55mph, im positve the newer ones fair better, but not interested in finding out. One fault for the hilux is they must be the most uncomfortable truck on the market.
  6. Ive always sharpened mine with an small angle grinder, sometimes once a week (just a quick grind). The blades have always out lived the engine.
  7. Why couldnt they just repair you tyre? i think its called vulcanising
  8. Well said dean!!
  9. Dont know much about the td5, but if its a basic cross member like the old l/rovers then they are taking the mickey BIG TIME.
  10. From experience, spot on.
  11. If anyones interested in beech & ash cordwood, theres a chap in kettering, northants whose selling at £35 per ton, oak cheaper. pm me and i will give you his details
  12. This really hurts: Good luck mormeck. Although both klitschko,s are an absolute credit to the sport.
  13. I bought a scagg pedestrian flail in 1994, still going now. Very well built with a kawazaki 14hp engine. If their owned & built by the same firm, id say defiantly buy one.
  14. spot on.
  15. Im still waiting for it to start
  16. I believe that muhammad ali was the best heavyweight of all time,s/r leonard the best welterweight, hagler the best middleweight. These are only my opinions, but i have evidence to back these opinions up. As said , total respect to the god fearing community but how do you convince your selves that god exists. People die every day because of religious beliefs, isnt this the opposite of any religion?
  17. I dont believe in father christmas,or the tooth fairies, so why should i believe in god or heaven, never seen god nor do i know anyone who has, never been to heaven or know anyone who has. Total respect to religious folk 99% of them are respectful upright citizens.
  18. For a p plate that is very tidy, no dents!
  19. Sharpening his husky would make it a bit faster.
  20. Thats what it says on the internet when i googled "weird tree facts":001_smile:
  21. I only use mine for logs, i can unload a hilux in about 20-30 seconds.
  22. one third of america is covered in forest
  23. Find out how much the suppliers are selling theirs for in and around your area. No point being a lot dearer than them .
  24. Since 1990 ive had 5 diesel hiluxs, i usually take them up to 260,000 ish miles. So far they have cost me 1 radiator,1 set of rear wheel bearings , a few rear fog lamps and 1 front prop. Change the oil & filter every 5000 miles and these go on and on.On the down side they must be the hardest ride of any pick up,and even the turbo version is rather gutless, but i reckon it is the best working pick up out there.
  25. Just out of intrest, does mother in law count as family?
