  1. Am i wrong? or is this a scene from deliverance?
  2. They have plenty of work because the likes of us pay tax, we have to pay to get rid of our muck (skips) they dump theres in a farmers field. As for driveways they can come in at half price because they will not dig deep enough for a good base= less time, materials, yeah the job looks a goodun when its done .Try and explain to a potential customer why you are twice the price of the nice man in the transit and it will just fall on deaf ears.
  3. Looks like a labradoodle to me john
  4. I think it depends on your age, the older you get the more sense that tractor loader makes.
  5. Snow? I thought it was still summer, working in a t shirt most days
  6. Pig farming is a very tough way to make a living, good luck to him and i hope the locals realise the quality of his meat compared to the supermarket imported rubbish that most people buy.

My thoughts as well, im sure you could nearly get the amount it holds under your arms.
  9. That was well worth the wait. Well impressed!
  10. These people will say "we paid someone to get rid of our rubbish", how can it be proven that they didnt?. They make me sick, they probably travelled further to tip their rubbish, than the nearest tidy tip.
  11. Now thats the real mccoy, even has goodrich all terrains.
  12. I know a bloke in barnet who has tons of dry seasoned cord, problem is its all softwood a poplar, okay if you have a log burner. pm me if your intrested
  13. And we,re usually had quite a few drinks by the time the auction starts, if only my customers were in the same state when i give them my quote, this time next year id be a millionaire.
  14. If you have a compact get a borer for it,ive used borers on mini diggers. The last job was in solid chalk and it went through it no problem.
  15. Sorry puhed a button before i finished. 1 top coat of hammerite £120 for 5 litres, and it would help if it was sand blasted before painting.
  16. I have a new galvanised fence to paint on an estate in st.albans its owned by a lord whatever his name is and he has said he wants the very best, money no object,so after talking to various paint specialists this is what i am painting it with: 1 coat of dulux tr m/shield qd primer- £162 plus vat for 5 litres
  17. I have beem buying some cord from a bloke in barnet, north london. He has quite a few ton of seasoned poplar & conifer for sale, its been cut and stacked for about 18 months so would be ideal for logburners now. If anyones interested pm me and i will give you his contact details.
  18. On drugs!, stella! or just a complete lunatic! I hope for his sake that hes at least getting paid well.
  19. Brilliant bits of kit, i can effortlessly unload my hilux of logs in approx 10 seconds, you will have to make sure the bed is smooth as said, and make some boards to straddle the wheel arches as the logs etc will catch behind them, but all this will become clear when you first use it.
  20. Its a lot slower to work in winter, but it does work ok.
  21. Absolutely right, how many times do customers have their mature trees reduced, shaped etc. connys need trimming at least once a year its money in the bank.
  22. :001_smile:Why is it that when you top a conifer hadge it is ALWAYS twice the width that you imagined when you priced the job? At the end of the day its money and money=beer
  23. I think the reason people want to know how many logs are in your load is because they have been buying them in nets/bags etc and know exactly how many logs they are getting per£1. They work out how many they are getting from you and if its worth it. GRIN, COUNT,SMILE AND TAKE THEIR MONEY.
  24. Had a customer counting the logs in my hilux (1.2 cbic metre) , he counted 358, obviously this depends on the size of the logs. Personally i love customers, they pay my bills:001_smile:
