  1. My opinion from my experiences, so its not nonsence. Its my opinion. Just an example: farmer friend of mine was plagued with flytippers, one day he came across an empty transit pickup which had shed its crap in his field and got stuck. He phoned the police and the reply was "Its on private land, nothing we can do "When he said he was going to crush it with his jcb the reply was "do that and we will arrest you". Everything hama quoted is not just his opinion, but fact.
  2. Spot on.
  3. SORRY, but if these so called teachers ban a representation of our troops who lay their life on the line day in day out in the name of our country, they have no right to be teaching our kids. I think the punch in the face was tongue in cheek
  4. Couldnt agree more, trouble is he would sue you for every penny youve got. Loss of earnings, hurt feelings. smudged mascara, blood on his lipstick etc, etc.
  5. Its like this: when i was at school (60s & 70s) there were hard teachers and softie teachers, the softies now rule the roost. Same as politicians, the softies are running the country (elf&safety, political correctness, cant call a blackboard a blackboard, musnt upset the ethnic community etc) we,re doomed cos theres no going back.
  6. Ive put a few stihl saws on ebay , and as said they get good money as long as you offer postage, i suppose its because your dealing with a nationwide audience, as opposed to a few thousand people if you put it in your local paper/shop window.
  7. Good stuff mate. My yard is in millbrook, but ive never heard of this event, do you advertise locally?
  8. Crikey i thought youd cut your hand off, then i realised it was your finger not your arm. Looks painful enough though.
  9. I think we are all assuming that we process our wood the same as our selves, personally i get my first wood in about february,no way would that wood be seasoned for the following winter if i left it in trunks then logged it later in the year. Cutting and stacking into billets dries it sufficiently for the coming winter. I guess if you have hundreds of tons of cord then you can leave it to dry and log it and store it when its dry enough.
  10. Eggsrascal said "cover them or put in shed" i guarantee you that if you cover green logs they will rot.
  11. Problem is that the wood you are processing into logs will have to be seasoned before you cover them or they will rot. Cutting them into billets speeds up the drying process.
  12. I split mine like that (they dry quicker) , after a few months of warm dry weather i cut them as you say into 9inch logs on the saw bench.
  13. Was going to put mine up. Wont bother now. Dont know if you hear this very often john, but im impressed with your stack.
  14. Im on my 5th hilux (diesel 4x4) i take them to around 260,000 miles and they are still running like a gold watch when i sell them. Change the oil and oil filter every 5,000 miles, air filter and diesel filter annually, grease props every 10.000 miles . 245000 miles is high and unless you know the history , look elsewhere because when they go wrong the parts can be expensive.
  15. I was assuming this is a business of yours and you sell them.
  16. Beautiful,how much?
  17. QUALITY,with all this rain i havnt worked today , but still taking the relentless, mrs has got me ironing.dusting, cleaning etc. "your like a little dynamo you " she says. f**k the relentless
  18. Id agree with you, this was a question on QI recently. the stupid one alan davies said saved by the bell origionated from the days when people were buried alive (by accident). The answer was as you say from boxing.
  19. Considering when loaded my tractor & trailer weighs roughly 25 tons & can travel at 70kph you are absolutely right, trouble is when the sun shines and the moisture content in the wheat is touching 15-16 per cent it has to brought in, theres no time for resting, the only rest we get is when we are waiting for the combine to fill its tank.
  20. Same as when you go in mc donalds, fat girl/boy orders large big mac & fries, donut, apple pie, oh and diet coke. Back to energy drinks, anyone tried "V" or purdey. I know these drinks are suggary crap , but it seems to me that anything we enjoy is deemed bad for you i.e beer, fried food, sex.
  21. At the momment i am harvesting (corn carting) weather permitting i work up to 14 hours a day, come 7 o,clock the old eyelids get very heavy,to combat this i drink relentless (green can), can anyone recommend a better one apart from red bull (way overpriced).
  22. Good job, youve even got it level.
  23. This man knows what hes talking about.guarantee this iis your problem.
  24. Thanks, bought a scagg flail from ibbets a few years ago, good blokes. I know mogs are great bits of kit,but i never thought they were that much. I know a lot of farmers & contractors and i only know one who uses a mog, hes a spraying contractor.
  25. Well, ive trawled the internet for a price and come up with nothing. skyhuck you obviously have the answer, how much does a new mog with hydraulics, pto, air brakes & 3 point linkage cost?
