  1. Must admit i have a soft spot for l/rovers just as i do for british motorbikes bsa/triumph/norton etc. Its just the reliability thats in question.
  2. Dont want to start an argument, but why didnt you buy a hilux
  3. Personally i think we are still missing beckham or the likes of.
  4. Someone on here had the same situation and was mentioned to powerwash it to remove all soil/slate/stones then use your chainsaw to cut it up, sounds like a good idea
  5. Nor did i,what i did see at long last was passion and the will to win, maybe just maybe.
  6. I think most people would agree with that. Good advice
  7. Brilliant,didnt think of that.
  8. I,m far from an expert on this, but as an example: lombardy poplar on open ground ( no sheds/fence/greenhouses etc) my climber ,rope harness, spikes saw, what equipment would make his job faster? only asking cos i,m interested to keep up
  9. I must admit when it comes to climbers and their tecniques i,m living in the 1970s/80s/90s but i still believe that they were a lot faster than todays climbers although probably more accidents occured. I have nothing but respect for climbers,i can remember thinking that looks easy , until i climbed off the ladder into the tree, you could hear my knees knocking miles away.
  10. Is this how you guys do it now, seems really slow to what ive seen, i suppose its all to do with h & s.
  11. i,m not a climber , but worked with a few. They simply climb to the top of the tree , find a decent anchor point and go from there, i say simply, i,m sure its not that simple. Although todays climbers may be taught differently
  12. I think theyve made a punctuation mistake, should read £160.00 per hour, not worth bothering with really.
  13. Glad to hear everythings turned out well, when your in that situation you realise the doctors/nurses/surgeons are worth their weight in gold, i wonder how a doctor/surgeon is worth max £100.000 a year and the likes of wayne rooney are worth £200,00 plus a week.
  14. Hodge i think youd be surprised how many chainsaw owners pay to have their saws sharpened, mostly they are gardeners who buy a saw , the seller never shows them how to sharpen it (why should they?) its a regular little income for them.
  15. What year scott? i,m guessing middle 80,s. Great photos by the way.
  16. Well instead of sitting on your backside over the long weekend, youve earnt yourself £300 plus a bit of experience, Well done. I have read all the previous posts and i can assure you they are well meaning (especially on your rates) good luck for the future.
  17. I have been given a number of shotgun cartridges (12 & 16 bore),as i dont have a 16 bore anyone who wants them and are in the bedfordshire area are welcome to have them for free, there are 110. 1 full box and the rest are loose.
  18. I sent a message asking what make of saw it is, he replied, "will post more pics, not sure what model it is" No name on saw?
  19. I use mine with an 18 inch bar, but i also have a 28 inch bar, runs both with plenty of grunt. Cant complain with mine plenty of revs and power.
  20. I agree , privet roots are no problem even the older larger ones.

    poor pay

Trouble is , if an employer ups his employees wages he has to up his prices which could mean he cant compete price wise against the opposition,as for your post being cancelled you must of been in the wrong (against the rules), i had one of my posts cancelled for swearing, fair enough i learnt a lesson and watched what i typed in future.
