I have monster ash tree stump, extracted and lying on a perilous slope. It is encrusted with slate. It needs cutting before moving it. My local hire shop offers a masonry chainsaw for £100 per day plus £50 per 0.5mm wear charge on the diamond chain. I await their email reply as to whether it can be used on wood and what my max liability is on the wear-charge. In the meantime I would welcome any comments from anyone who has gone down this path.
