  1. Evening Gents, out with my Euroforest 8.5ton manual winch yesterday. Winch isn't a year old yet and only used for pulling trees over and abit of skidding. Yesterday we felled a big Ash pulled it over fine. When it come to pulling the stem up a slight embankment it struggled and wouldn't pull it, made abit of noise then wouldn't even pull the cable back in. I'm guessing the clutch needs adjusting now its been used abit. We'll that's what I'm hoping it is. Any ideas?
  2. Hello Gents, Going to put a lad on the books thats been with me nearly 5 years, mainly because he's trying to buy a house and it'll help him with a mortgage. Do any of you have an employment contract template I could use? As I'm abit lost on where to start on writing one up. My accounts sorted all the Paye part etc. Just need to sort a contract out. Many thanks.
  3. Completely agree with that mate. I did the same and came to the same conclusion. It's all about balance and quality of life has to be worth more than chasing figures, otherwise you'll never be happy especially with the economy the way it is at the moment.
  4. Usually drops off this time of year with nesting season and trees starting to bud. I have noticed clients are alot more careful with their money these days and wanting the quotes broken down! so they can pick which trees to do rather than the whole lot at once. And they seem to be getting more quotes. Definitely not winning as much work as we were before Christmas.
  5. Evening Gents, Looking for any info on the Mowi 250 crane, can't find anything on the Web so thought I'd pick your brains. Just after it's lifting capacity and is it a tidy little crane. Thanking you.
  6. Yes complete new unit. I don't think it's that! I joined the two two wires in the control box which bypass the stress control so I believe, and it chipped anything then, so must be an electrical issue or a faulty H box.
  7. Hi Hodge mate, long time no speak. Yes I replaced the control valve unit about a year ago, as the rollers completey stopped. So hoping it's not that.
  8. Hello Gents, My Timberwolf has had this problem for a while now, its chips faultlessly until you stick something big into it! then the rollers just won't take it! you have to try it about 4 times before it'll go through, sometime it won't be an issue, but it seems to be getting worse. Done the usual checks of belts etc all good. But I have the speed 2 fault showing once I put the engine past half revs! Any ideas?
  9. Thanks, for that, appreciate the info. Yes the ram gaurds are missing! Do you think you could buy new ones? The legs not bent just looks it in the pic as I checked them and the rams. I think she's worth a gamble as should be ideal for my needs. 🤞
  10. Well spotted on the caps Chris, the owners a mechanic and said the bearings have all be done, probably why the caps aren't on. He's owned it for 11 years as a yard trailer as makes a few Chestnut stakes. No brakes but it won't get used much on the road with a load! more for the yard and Estate work.
  11. Hi there, After any information on this old botex Timber trailer! Any idea on crane model and ton of trailer? Thanks in advance.
  12. Remember him setting up his business and my Mum bringing his business flyer home from Malvern show, never met him but spoke on fb a few times, and knew he had built up a brilliant business. Such a shock and a real shame thoughts go out to his family and friends especially his wife and little girls. Sent from my SM-G935F using Arbtalk mobile app
