  2. From the information that I have looked at, it seems the change in the law is to protect surgeons so that they can aid women who require late term abortions e.g - due to their foetus being dead and needing it removing, or the foetus developing critical/chronic/dangerous health issues in late term. It’s changed to protect both surgeon and mother from criminal prosecution, I don’t have a problem with it personally.
  3. Nettles add nitrates to deficient soils (if I remember right) and are handy if he can leave them in place - call it a herb patch since you can also eat them (a bit like spinach). For the bamboo I'd chop it all back, dig out as many roots as you can and then make sure you mow the patch regularly - check for any regrowth and remove as soon as you can. Mowing the area regularly from early spring can cut back any regrowth - each time you do it looses some energy reserves for new growth and eventually dies away - though it might take longer than with weed killer / poison the lawn will be better for any kids to play on without that. For the nettles, the same, just keep mowing the area
  4. Don’t forget qualifications are not always written. Not everything can be proven in a test environment. If they are the type of organisation that is going to want everything on paper they might not be worth having as customers.

  6. I'm studying at uni, off for the holidays until September and looking for some tree work on a self employed basis. I have relevant qualifications and 4 years experience. Own kit and saws (no rigging kit but have the ticket) can provide own fuel. £150 on the ground and £170 climbing. Will be able to climb by 27th June after my kit is inspected. Spent most of my time doing utility arb and railways and I'm a bit rusty having not climbed in a year or so.
  7. i have a brand new hilux tipper and pay £1100 with trust insurance
  8. Still looking for a handle for my adze, it's been in the family for at least 150 years and was last used by me to cut the tenons on arris rails. They were supported in a V notch in a piece of 4x2.
  9. Not just me then, as I'm also on a Sherpa 100 - well remembered. Changing to Hombury quick connectors... what's involved? Replace the whole hose, or just the connector bit? What do I need to know about sizes to purchase?
  10. Well, it made me smile . . . . .
  11. Ah, yes Dan. Well spotted, my proclivity to forget about stuff. Incl battery chargers. Though oddly enough only a month ago, I had been very intermittently using the wee Kioti, without issue over a few weeks, then after a 3 day gap, the battery was completely dead. Refused to take a charge, so I swopped it with another one. And then I tried it again with the wee basic charger, and after violent full needle deflections and various other non charging aberrations, I finally got it to take a charge, it however took a full week before the battery, a Yausa showed the green light, and the battery once swopped back into the Kioti has been preforming faultlessly ever since. All most odd.
  12. I'm already baffled. I want to ( legally ) carry on pulling trailers, or being allowed to drive 7.5 Tonners on the rare occasion I need to. Some sites indicate I need to fill in forms D2/D4, but I think that's for minibuses/HGV etc. Others say that if I have B+E entitlements then it's automatically OK. Just to complicate matters, I can't find my paper licence, but I remember when I got it, I was delighted to find I could use various everyday vehicles, such as Road Rollers, pedestrian controlled mowing machines, and all manner of similar stuff. 🙂 Any informed advice would be gratefully received, thanks.
  13. Sounds like the O rings have failed on the pressure relief valve. Locate your hydraulic valve block with the solenoid coils and remove the PRV. Think its like a 22mm spanner from memory. Also, get a volt meter and check to see if you still have 12v on the forward hirchsmann plug when the rollers are stopping. As others have said, check your drive belts. Both flywheel and hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump belt on the old TW125 are quite fiddly to tension.

  15. thanks for the comprehensive explanation. I’ll try both approaches on Friday.
  16. For pragmatic reasons we do need a mix of renewables and nuclear, but I think you might be right about the added politics if it. A lot of what Labour is doing generally this time seems to be to appease the right leaning voters, by moving themselves ever further towards the right. They're terrified of Reform. It's not right, it's all wrong. Aside from that Labour are barely any better than the previous Conservatives, when it comes to environmental concerns or care for the countryside.

  25. From what @Joe Newton says that brace is 2/3 through its design life and from the look of those forks I expect it would fall apart if removed.
  26. Having developed the first ever backpack blower in the early 1970s, ECHO know a thing or two about blowers. They have recently launched the PB-9010T backpack blower. Built for professional users and heavy-duty applications, it boasts an industry-leading 48.9N of blowing force, making debris removal almost effortless. The PB-9010T is the culmination of years of designing machines that are not only powerful, but put operator comfort at the forefront of the process. The combination of a powerful 79.9cc engine, air speed of 97.8m/s and a maximum air volume of 1907m³/h enables operators to complete tasks faster and more efficiently . With operator comfort in mind, the PB-9010T features a 5-point anti-vibration system, ergonomic backpack straps, and a hip belt to reduce fatigue. The unique operator back ventilation system provides cooling airflow during hot weather and can be disabled for colder conditions, ensuring year-round comfort. A patented metal wear ring enhances durability and protects the blower tube from wear, while the top-mounted, tool-less air filter allows quick maintenance in the field. Built-in cruise control means constant speed is easy to maintain. The ECHO PB-9010T is available now from ECHO dealers nationwide and is priced at £899 (inc-VAT).
