  1. better off telling the owner what you want to do with the property instead of dreaming up schemes that might circumvent any clauses.. it might just be that whoever's selling might not be all thats bothered if you seem a decent chap.... First impressions an all that, your face fits, your in...
  2. Err, a coupe of things spring to mind.. weeping at a broken down truck and seein it as a challenge to be met, mine broke down this morning, believe me, I had no tears for it, just rage... Then there the Titanium thing, comparing it to positive thoughts, who does that?... And not least, I've provided an explanation of how people become successful and why, and still he and others are too dense to understand it... Basically, you are what you are, don't imagine anything you do will change that... people can spout rubbish about positive thinking all they want.. Truth is when you're on a good run you tend towards being positive, when things go wrong you tend to being miserable... don't imagine its being positive that gets you the good run, that comes the other way round... Its called confirmation bias..... seein what they want to see... they think because they were happy when things went well, all they have to do is be happy/positive and things will get better... Nope it don't work like that.. Exhaustion, try spending a day pretending to be optimistic happy positive, I dare say your'll be so exhausted you'll need a day to get over it... Thanks Mick.... nice to have a bit of support here an there
  3. Best get the police on me then, I took down three conifers myself last week.. The owner helping out as best he could by running away every time I started up the chainsaw, came back to pull out the odd branch from under the tree.... Had no idea I was employing him, I thought it was the other way round..
  4. Why the robbin *%$", wait till I see him... I wouldn't mind, I thought I was doin him a favour...
  5. Yea, I'm beginning to have second thoughts on Stefan.. seems determined to do well but I'm not sure about his state of mind... But if your driven and want success, then you can't do better than apply yourself to researching your subject matter.. who's out there, who's been there why did those who failed fail... Customers, what are they looking for?... Can you do things better or different?... Risk management, by being informed a risk to some turns into a certain thing for the well informed.. basically risk becomes redundant.... If you apply yourself to the ground rules then everything else is easy if your willing to apply yourself to the task at hand.. Luck might play a part, but having said I'm reminded of the time I was commenting on this fella I was doin his garden for... Man, your lucky to have such a lovely view from your back garden... he turned, looked me in the eye and said... We make our luck round here..
  6. Thanks....
  7. happened to me loads of times over the years... Sometimes they do so much I begin to worry they might demand a discount
  8. I have two Partner chainsaws, haven't a clue what bar to use or were to get em.... someone who does em up sold em me cheap, fifty quid each... One sounds like it might be worth doin up, the other not so sure... Why I'm at it, I have a Johnsered 25somethin or other, thats needs a new bar as well, any suggestions?..
  9. I don't want to pour cold water on the thread but I see things different... No matter how much positive thinking you do, it ain't goin to do nothin for you.. thinking positive is a symptom not a solution... That is to say driven people think positive by default... they think bigger and outside the box... where'as most mortals might give up after a couple of bad starts, driven people will simply pick themselves up and start again... You just can't knock em down...... and if these types direct their drive to business, you end up with the Richard Bransons of this world... its why I suspect Stefan will one day do very well for himself...
  10. Of all the things climbing related I've bought since back end of last year, a helmets not one of em.. So bin reading this thread with interest... couple of things to note.. Safety glasses rather than visor, and ear muffs... I can't stand anything stuck in my ears, and didn't think about a visor catching branches and becoming an annoyance..
  11. I'm sure it has happened, I'll take my chances, If I could I'd wear a pair of crocks, nothing worse than sweltering feet when your trying to get a job done. as it is, I've taken to goin sockless in an attempt to stifle my sweaty feet, sort of helps...
  12. a pair of trainers does me.. never had a problem yet....

  14. I went an watched the first one as well, our Mr Demsey got a question in I see... had to smile at that LOL.... anyway, fascinating story of a fella who got started climbing poles in Vietnam..
  15. I suppose if you want to chop tree's in a game, then minecraft is for you. You can chop tree's till your blue in the face... not sure about buying a chipper though!!!!!..
  16. Well such are the high rents and mortgage payments is it any wonder young kids want to live for the moment.... Whats needed is living wages and affordable housing.. errm might want to take away any subsidies people get for rents as well.... I'll bet there's billions being paid out to morons who think the State aught be paying for their mortgage through state subsidies for their tenant's...
  17. I don't suppose its to far removed from the truth, see, for the most part when I'm not working I like to relax on my PC doing all kinds of stuff... I need to get out and move about on my off time as much as when I'm out tryin to earn a crust..
  18. Its been pouring down most of yesterday and most of this morning... couldn't of timed it better to be honest... had three small lawns I'd been meaning to lay down, got em all down just in time for the magic treatment to work on em....
  19. You can still manage, when I did that I soon learned how to pull a ripcord with my left arm.. Like Ste says as well, time to get the stilh battery operated strimmer now.. lovely battery back pack to go with it.... after you've spent your grand, it won't take long before you convince yourself its the best thousand pounds you ever spent... Kidding aside, hope your OK mate, nothin worse than doin yourself an injury... I'm currently takin care of bad back...
  20. Thats a handy height for an opportunistic thief to nick the lot... you'd of bin better off thinking along the lines of a bear can, hang it high... Which reminds me, I wonder if Reg has seen any bears yet?...
  21. Looks like fun....
  22. If the Zigzag fractures they give you another one for free.. Not to mention its the early models that had a problem.. MK3 seem to have got it right... Anyway, whats stoppin people having both options... somethin you can have if you have a Zigzag to hand..
  23. Zigzag, works good looks good...
  24. Not sure about the barbed wire, I might of gone with something else suggesting sacrifice and loss.. Can't think what but given time I'm sure I'd come up with something along those lines... Perhaps you might have fashioned those poppies into two figures, two comrades sharing an embrace, or some such uplifting pose..
