    bad day

On the lash last night was you?....
  2. No idea how you plan your work week, I'd hazard a guess you even work weekends.. What you want to do is take a day off at least once a week... The body needs a rest as much as the mind, otherwise these little incidents might just find a way of catching up with you...
  3. If you want to understand the real problem then its not what you might think, guns, racism or anything else along those lines... Why don't you ever get stories of Asian Immigrants being gunned down by police officers?.. The problem lies in the black community.. their culture, their apparent disrespect for authority.. Apparently in one study resisting arrest is nine times more likely amoungst blacks.. A black policeman is twice as likely to shoot another black man resisting arrest... Stefan seems to have some unsavory answers... [ame] [/ame]

    Pain

speaking of pain, have a lower back problem that comes and goes, pulled a muscle in my back two weeks ago and have had a sore right big toe giving me gyp.. The back muscle problem went two days ago, couldn't believe my luck.. well it was good for the back but not the big toe, its taken its place in the pecking order.. it was hard to stand on my feet most of the last two days.. Thought I'd give it a soak this morning, and pressed and pocked and squeezed to see if I could pinpoint were the hell it might be damaged.. well, to my surprise is was right underneath the toe, bit of a surprise as I thought I must of dropped somethin on it.. Couldn't think why the tenderness was underneath till I poked around in my shoe.. the bloody thing had sharp object inside in exactly the place my big toe rests... No wonder its got worse the last few days.. The shoe's now nicely burning in the fire... perhaps in a day or so my toe will mend.. Wont be long though before somethin else crops up, I can be sure of that... Perhaps its time I took up an exercise routine.. perhaps take my own advice?.... By the way, billhook has posted up the best advice on this thread... I really enjoyed reading that piece.....
  5. Wasting your time debating gun laws in the States, they like their guns and thats that... As to the two incidents, seems to me one was the result of a nervous police officer feeling he'd been threatened, the other was a man getting his just deserts.... The sniper situation is just gonna make things worse for a few months... if the police tell you to stop, put your hands up, then if I was living in the States I'd be doin just that as quick as I can.. And, if anyone gets killed by a cop askin em to do just that and they think its a good time to take the piss, well more fool them...
  6. I wonder if a drop test hasn't been performed on a Zigzag using SRT, maybe they have an it didn't end well...

    Pain

Apparently, theres not the same level of bad backs in India due to how they sit on the floor cross legged.. Something to do with posture... You might want to try it, see how it works out.. seems to fix my back if I bring my legs up as far as I can... bit uncomfortable but for five minutes worth a try, and costs nothin..
  8. Looked into this sort of thing a couple of years back for when I went hiking.. A dehydrator seems a must... They're about hundred quid for a good one..
  9. Theres a lot of chippers in Ebay that get described as "used as second chipper".. I expect most have old chipper on standby..
  10. I tend to look at the first world war in a new light these days, I once looked at it like most others as a completes waste of life, and those lives lost by incompetent feckless generals.. Although I see the war itself as pointless, I see the battles and the men who fought in them in a completely different light.. Considering the deaths. If mistakes were made and no lessons were learned, then that would be a tragedy, but lessons were learned. By wars end the use tanks planes and artillary was at such state the soldiers on the front could break through German lines like a knife through butter.. Then theres the fact that we won in the end, you wouldn't know it with all the nashing of teeth and wailing for the fallen... I think its about time we started to look at the war in a more positive light, less about the costs, more about the result.. we won didn't we?... Might want to look at the way we remember the fallen as well.. instead of the victims of incompetent generals. Might be better to see them as hero's who gave everything for the cause... Good men, brave men, the best men Britain ever had... Remember them as hero's not victims.. they deserve that at least...

  14. he might want to look through the local paper for a handyman... 150 tops for the day... probably take the chap 4 hours to get it done if he gets a move on..
  15. I'm a bit confused, have the Jo Beau 500M chipper bin ungraded over the last few years?... Theres another vid online an their chipper looks bigger..
  16. Sure theres no hard and fast rules regarding righting a snaking trailer... On a top gear show they proved slowing was as good as accelerating out of it... might be you have decelerate slowly or accelerate slowly out of it.. I expect if you stick your foot on the brakes, the weight of the trailer and its load will push the truck like a bull in a china shop gone berserk...
  17. Look bozo, until I got hold of it was on a chain, I let it off to run free around this place, its a smallholding about twenty acre's.. I have three goats that it loves to chase and fight with, the goats look forward to settin about the dog as well.... But now I can't afford to let it loose lest it bolts down the track an gets a pic taken...
  18. Well, obviously its on a chain now, it wasn't till the other day... Seein as one pic from a phone might condemn it, I'm toyin with the idea of finding it a good home.. One of the horsey girls knows a farmer who might have it, bit of an oddball family by all accounts but I'm assured they love their animals... so we'll see..
  19. Update... Had a visit from the dog warden this morning, he inspected the dog and its living arrangements and pronounced it was unfit for purpose.. said it needed to be on a stronger chain... so a stronger chain was got and now its tied to the end of that.... Said if anyone produced evidence the dog has been seen down the track he'd have to come and take it away.. fair enough I says... Now heres the thing, my dog and another dog were seen in the vicinity of the attack on the sheep but thats all thats known to date.. within minutes of the attack, I went to collect the dog.. now, not a drop of blood was on my dog and none on the other dog too, A white mastiff type dog..... Considering three sheep were killed and another survived but was tore up you'd imagine blood to be evident on their snouts at least but no, not a drop... I'm wondering if some local was out takin his dogs for a walk, his dogs attacked the sheep and off he fled, an our dogs went looking at the commotion just in time to be spotted in the area... Or, the woman who owns the land, she's got a dozen dogs one of which is a doberman and it might be hers thats killed the sheep.... then seein our dogs turn up decides to save some embarrassment for herself and blame our dogs for the crime.... With no blood on the dogs, its just a bit of a puzzler..... the last attack involving my nethews dog his dog was covered in blood... Odd
  20. Not that I know of, you're not supposed to disturb nesting birds though. find one in the hedge and leave it be...
  21. Good should go some way to filling all the pot holes in these parts.. what with the rain through the winter I've never seen as many, only the other day I was thinking they should of stuck to cobbles...
  22. Blow it all in Cheshire I suspect...
  23. Been a bit of day all things considered, started off with a phone call saying the dog had killed a sheep on the next field.,. went to collect it. my nephew's comin over as I put the collar on.. said he was gettin his shotgun and he was gonna kill it.... Told him he isn't and how does he know its our dog that did it, said a woman had come running down the track to tell him a sheep dog and another dog had killed some sheep... As he's tellin me all this I have the owner's daughter shouting obscenities in my ear about dogs not being chained up when they should be and how we're not fit to have a dog amongst other accusations she's been nursing for some time.... I took the dog, locked it in the shed and went off to do a few jobs why I worked out what to do... Found myself doin the job I'd been putting off on account I'd smashed two of this customers windows in the past month or so, managed to finish that without further incidence.. then the other job I'd been putting off, a paddock near the window job.. Turns out it now looks like a hayfield and she's had half a ton of stone dropped off and spread alongside some of the grass verges.... Look, any of that crap gets hit with this strimmer an it smashes any of those car windows and its tough, I've paid out enough money for windows round these parts and I ain't payin out any more.... Things went better after that but I didn't fancy the trip back home, half expecting to get back and find a kicked in shed door, and a dead dog lyin on the shed floor.. Dog was still there, no kicked in door all seems unusually quiet... for how long thats gonna last livin in this madhouse is anyone's guess..
