  1. I like to think I'm up for a laugh as well as anyone else, but I can't stand people even telling me jokes until I've got the job out the way.. Seems to me their minds more on f*in about than gettin the job done.. And practical jokes, well, like I say, Jokes don't even go down with me.. what chance a practical joke?..
  2. Well said, seems you travelled the same road as myself:thumbup1:
  3. Ah but, its a legal immigrant.....
  4. No, though I have just looked it up, sounds like a fascinating read.. I might see if its available on audio books..
  5. I'll take a backhanded compliment as well as any other LOL's... I'm on solid ground when it comes to religion though, spent years debating the subject on other forums, even been banned off a few....
  6. “Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?” ― Epicurus [ame] [/ame] Atheists destroying Theism since 300BC....
  7. Are you kidding, its just a rant.... Not to mention he has a point, not one shared by me mind..... For what its worth, most Jews are European in origin.. that is to say they have zero ethnic claims to anywhere in the middle east... So, apart from a claim based on their religious upbringing they aught not have even contemplated a claim on Israel... Still it is what it is, whats been done can't be undone, best to move the argument forward....
  8. Can we get back to the issues please.. I don't give a monkeys if one person believes another a racist, not that I've seen one person on here who is.... Though I might add I have seen the tactics of the hard left put in play, attack the messenger instead of the facts...
  9. I might knock somethin off this evening to share... Obviously has to be a tree choppin theme.... I used to fancy myself as a poet in my younger days, wrote a couple of em and even had one published in the local paper... The embarrassment of being stopped by my friends to congratulate me on the piece put a stop to any ambitions of being published......
  10. Not such a bad way of puttin it... not far off the mark, more so than you might imagine as well... My take on the subject is that Climate change is not whats behind it, human or inviroment, but what its being used for... To promote a changeover from fossil fuels to alternative forms of energy... And that only to forestall a greater danger than climate change itself... In the not to distant future, oil is gonna get harder to come by, it can't last for ever... we know what we have, we know how long it might last, but we don't know whats gonna take its place.... Thats the conundrum thats driving the promotion of alternative energy... an attempt to conserve, to buy time to work on its replacement..... Oh I might add that thirty thousand scientists don't add up to nothin when those so called scientists aren't working in the field....
  11. Am I....? Trump just got elected for the reasons I outlined, the american people are sick of it.. as is our population, why in hells bells do you think people voted against their better interests by voting for Brexit.... Why do you think Poland tried to outlaw abortion as Trump threatens to do... They understand the fault lines being created by changing demographics... As to British workers, yea, I'm sure theres a bunch of slackers out there, but I suspect paying people crap wages has more to do with their attitude than their willingness to get stuck in.... What about the cost of living, why would anyone want to work all week to be skint after paying for rent?... as far as I'm concerned, affordable housing aught be a right.. Heres a thought, you pay a nominal rent, you bring up your child as a productive British citizen.... you break the contract and your out on your ear...
  12. Why should anyone stigmatise a girl for getting pregnant, in wedlock or otherwise?... We should be celebrating every child born, the more the merrier... I'd even suggest paying girls to have children.... our native population is in decline, we need to push back or the lunatics will be bringing in ever more migrants to fill the gap... Our economy is projected to rise above Germanies in the next twenty years, theres only one reason that might be able to be projected, their population is set to crash as ours is set to explode... Anyone any idea's why theres a confidence in those projections?.. because our political elite are determined to import millions more in the next few years.... and if those immigrants aren't going to be European, you know where they're gonna come from..... So stop bleating about young girls gettin pregnant and start workin on getten em pregnant..
  13. hahhahahah Now thats funny:thumbup1:
  14. better off buying one thats suitable for most of your hedge work, rather than just a couple of your highest hedges... I think mine are twelve foot, I can extend them by strapping a light ally ladder to them if I need a couple of extra feet... Mine are the Japanese version, forget the make.. lighter than a bag of sugar...
  15. LOL, I thought someone would chip in with a comment like that.. Though I dare say, the Europhiles will be doin their own threatening in the next few months... the womans gonna be bullied from pillar to post over the coming weeks... I expect its gonna wear pretty thin pretty fast being a prime minister under those circumstances.....
  16. I like Micheal More's take on events.. The electorate want to send Trump to the white house because they want to throw a Molotov cocktale into the establishment.... As to what choice american has, what about us. A labour leader from the lunatic fringe, verses a conservative leader held hostage by the lunatic fringe of the right.... Thats if she herself ain't a member of said lunatic fringe herself.... I can see her bein toppled in months...
  17. Let me give my take on all this, your gonna go retrieve a lost heli or whatever it is you call it, every blue moon... Get a rope from decathlon if ones close or get one off the net... it doesn't matter if its a tree rope, it might be advertised as rock climbing rope.. ropes rope is it not.. next thing is to get on utube and learn the basics... its not hard.. The only thing to mention is climbing itself, climbing as a kid is one thing climbing when your older is another.. as a kid you're indestructible, as you get older every foot climbed is something more to be broke, leg ankle or neck... So make sure your tied in as best as can as can be done.. The harness you have, though not ideal will do the job, its to keep you and the rope together, it doesn't climb the tee for you... If you do climb the tree, you might get a buzz out of it and find you want to do it as a pass time.. its a thing.. now if you do fancy doin more climbing then get the proper gear... I bought my first climbing rope from decatholon, sure it was for rock climbing, and guess what, it works on tree's... you might want to get a handful of carbeners as well..

    Emigrating

Well, immigrating might be a good thing for some but not me.. Like Shyluck I'm rooted to my part of Britain.. lived in the same village since I was born.. Most of my friends are still here, I know most everyone I bump into and most folks are friendly round'n abouts.. But, If'n I did happen to fancy a move, I can't think of a better place than the US, seems to have everything.. I imagine Europe might come on the radar as a spot to move to if'n it wasn't for the language barrier.. I wouldn't mind roughing it out through a Siberian winter in some out the way log cabin, a woodfire and enough to eat to get through the Winter.. then back home.. See, thats the thing, goin abroad is good for a break, a challenge, or a few years off. But you can't beat being back home... Whats the best feeling about going away?... eventually makin your back and seein that landmark that roots you to the place.. that for me is an old railway bridge that meets yours eyes as your wind your way down the brew... a big black ugly stone bridge that heralds your arrival back home.. You can't beat it...
  19. I do hedge just like that every year, only the good side is facing the paddock, the bare side the school... I chopped all the branches off the school side to save the hassle of trimming up against the school fence.. I aught to go round an see what it looks like from the other side, I'd always imagined it looks pretty neat.. though as in the pics, bare...

    Tidal.

this just about sums it up... not so much the problems that must be many, but the lack of locations to apply systems.. With wind you can scale up, with tidal estuaries you'd have to have a bespoke system for each location.. meaning economies of scale can't be applied as economically.. if at all... With that, its safe to say tidal energy is dead in the water.. I'd not even considered that before.. Theres also the grid to consider, would they have to upgrade that for tidal electric, and would it be worth it for a couple of towns worth of electric?..
  22. Vespasian

    Tidal.

The not so obvious answer is salt.. It does tend to ruin things, even very expensive electrical components..
  23. Hahahahahahah.... yes I know, but, unlike anyone else, I knew Sam Allardyce was gonna be an England manager...... explain that one?..
  24. Well, lets say at one time before he was England manager I felt 90% sure he would be England Manager one day.. Not out of guesswork but, a sort of psychic ability I stumble across here and there.. I'll give you an example, my brothers girlfriend went to a medium to have a reading.. I said anyone can do that.. So there they were, all gathered round awaiting my own reading.. well, as best I could do I could only muster one image in my mind.. my friends dad called Joe.. What to make of that I thought?... well I was gonna ask if my brothers girlfriends father was gay, and he wanted to get through to his secret lover.. Well I could hardly say that, the fella had only been dead a month... So, in exasperation, I just blurted out, who the F&^% is JOE... Deathly silence fell onto the room, Thats my mums name my brothers girlfriend says in chilled silence.... So, yea, here an there things happen that lead me to believe I have a gift of sorts.. not that I use or cultivate it.. its just there awaiting an incident to speculate on... Yes it sounds daft, but I believe it works sometimes... for good or ill..
  25. Talk crap, whats crap about predicting allardiyce would one become England boss?...
