  1. hehehe..... I've been watchin a chunk of Buckin vids over the past week, and it got me to wondering if it was possible to get a buckinBilly axe off him myself... Not knowin how these things worked I just asked how to get one in the comments section... well, got my answer within a minute and that day enquired about gettin one.... Anyways, he's doin me long handled tree choppin axe, the double bladed affair's.... looks like a viking axe..... I don't expect it'll be here for a month or two, but when it turns up I'm gonna post a pick of it on here for you Silky...
  2. Wool,, keeps you warm if its wet.... Idea, a good thick woollen jumper thats gonna keep you warm.. take two crappy jackets of choice to work... One for windy days, keep out the wind... one for rainy days to keep you dry for an extra half hr...
  3. Well you learn somethin every day.... never would of thought of doin that!!!.... Well, maybe I would of thought of doin that, but I think I'd of had about fifty ropes tied to the tree before I got round to choppin it down LOL's...
  4. I saw a pic of this tree when I was about seven or somethin, Its funny how the memory plays tricks on you.. I had visions of a two lane highway running through that thing. If I had to rely on memory thats how I would of thought of it still till I seen this pic... And yet, look at it, barley wide enough to get a goat through it.. Still, I'm glad its down. Never sat well with me even back then, to cut a gaping wound in a tree for no good reason.... vandalism at its worst......
  5. you think I didn't try to zoom in ?... It's still a nightmare to read more than a word or two without trying to interpret what being got at... Just write the damn thing down an put it on here so everyone can read it without goin cross-eyed.. Ya Looon...
  6. How you expect anyone to read that is beyond me..... Why not give us a gist of whats bein said so we might get our teeth into it....
  7. I could read a full book on Scot of the Arctic, but would struggle to read a pamphlet on this posh racer boy.. I will give him his due though, he was a brave fella thats for sure, then again there's plenty of those throw their lives away every year on the Isle of Man.... A bunch of reckless numpties... plenty to go round to keep the undertaker in business for decades....
  8. Europe in or out, had a bit of everything.... 5.500 comments 20.000 views... I didn't even realise that till I just had a look.... Not to mention, I'm in it a lot........ in parts anyways
  9. Listen Silky, those pics are facinatin an all, but I wont pics of you out an about doin your thing on the bike an stuff.... By inches You've managed to shame me into doin somethin about my shortcomings in regards my own fitness regimen.. or lack of one.. I've just started out this week by takin the dog out, won't be long before I clean the bike to go to the shops... Anyways, keep up the good work, theres more than your health at stake here.....
  10. Summon Jesus as one of your groundies.. he can walk on water.... Sorry, just popped in after beating a dead on the other thread, Europe in or out LOL...
  11. She had a hard run in after Stars Wars fame faded, ended up living rough for a time, were she was raped... can't of been easy over the years... I'm glad Disney picked her up again, gave her another bite at the cherry...
  12. I've watched about twenty hrs of TV over the last ten years.... Two monitors on my PC is about right, one for utube, news or whatever research I might be engaged in.. and the other for the occasional game I might play....
  13. Much respect for George Micheal RIP.. I didn't like his stuff when he started out but grew fond of his work later on, then again its what its like with me. At the top of an artists career I tend to pour scorn on their work, with later reflection I grow to admire em.. [ame] [/ame] George Micheal publicly coming to terms with his demons.........
  14. music a bit on the loud side for me... but a good vid none the less.... I watched the through cut one as well.. thats the thing with these vids, you watch one then end up spending half the day watchin all the others....
  15. I used a sycamore tree to practice on last year.. but thats mostly because its more or less a two minute walk from the house... Which brings up what really matters, find a local tree thats easy to get to and use... I wouldn't recommend a monkey puzzle tree, I dare say they're pretty thin on the ground.. you're gonna find it hard findin one close by...LOL
  16. Well thats a matter of opinion, I like the woman.. What she says is what a great many think but are too cowed to say in public... Her take down of Bob Geldoffs daughter, (was it peaches?) was a classic..
  17. I get my news on Google... I wouldn't pay for any paper anyways.. why buy yesterdays news?... The Sun, I wouldn't even use that to light the fire with, an insult to peoples intelligence..
  18. Grease Gun Mini Pistol Grip Flexible Hose & EP2 Lithium Cartridge Hilka 84800120 Ebay... took the trouble to look for one for you... first good one I came across.. Its got a "Lithium Cartridge", how can you go wrong?..
  19. Errr your right, I stuck a jocky wheel on mine to help shift the lump about.. I then found I could pull it up the trailer with a rope or winch..
  20. Probably done it yourself but just can't remember doin it... I spent the best part of yesterday wondering who'd nicked my phone. Turns out I'd plugged into my PC's charger instead of its usual spot from a plug socket on the wall... A friend who was round spotted it dangling from the back of the PC, he told me he was on his mobile once talking to his american girlfriend.. he reached down to his coat pocket where he keeps his phone, and for some mysterious reason began to wonder where his phone had gone.... In a blind panic he told his girlfriend his phone had been nicked or he'd lost it.. Well you can imagine his embarrassment when it was pointed out he was speaking to her on it...
  21. If you're struggling to pull your wee chipper onto a trailer or into a van then fit something you can attach a pulley system too to get it in the van or trailer.. make a cheap 3 in 1 pulley system...
  22. I've been driving without fifth gear and third gear for near on a year now.. Doesn't seem to be a problem....
  23. There should be more people like you, people need to know what can be done when permaculture is applied to a woodland environment... People seem to imagine the future involves involves sci fi mega cities rising into the sky's.. as an amature futurologist its my belief that we're goin to end up back in the bronze age... So, people need to get their skates on and investigate every possible alternative to modern agriculture...
  24. Can't say I know much on the subject but have seen a couple of Utube vids over the years... I like the idea though.. I hope you carry out your plan and its a great success.. [ame] [/ame]
  25. You'd have to research the price of goods shipped per kilo by ship, then find the stats for transporting by road... I'd imagine the price difference to be pretty worrying... not to mention, given the overall cheaper costs in Eastern Europe, you'd be better off drying at the point of production... Then again, this is me just speculating on the subject, and on that speculation maybe you can do something different... Instead of people carrying wood to be dried to you, why not invent a mobile dryer and take your mobile kiln to them.... If the mountain wont come to Mohamed then Mohamed must go to the mountain sort of thing..
