  1. I'm almost tempted to get one myself now..
  2. Onetruth Silly argument. Your £50k chipper isn't making the job quicker, but if you didn't have a saw and tried to gnaw your way through the tree... My point was... You buy things to make yourself a better/faster tree chopper.. axe/chainsaw... customers pay you for doin a job, you invest in equipment to get the job quicker.. Thats to say, if you're gonna argue the toss with a customer, you should explain how you've invested in order to get the job done safely and quickly... not argue that they aught be payin for your choice of investment..
  3. I never like this argument, you buy a chipper to get the job done quicker so you can move onto the next one to get some more money... you buy the chipper/chainsaw for you, not the customer, why should they pay for it?... Perhaps I might turn up an prune some privits and throw the clippings into the 50 grand bandit chipper an charge the customer two thousand for ten minutes work:thumbdown: If any argument should be used, its this.. Look, I might end up breakin my neck or worse... thats got to be worth somethin...
  4. Yea, thats how it aught be done...
  5. Well, I suppose I aught to have said, wait for a good windy day to dry it out then... anyways, sunny day cuttin sure beats cuttin in the rain... which is what I was gettin at...
  6. my tip, wait till its dry then cut it...... late afternoon after the suns bin at it..
  7. If drivin a tractor ain't an issue,(it is for me, can't stand thinkin I'm holding up traffic) then perhaps its the way to go... did you get a micro digger this weekend?..
  8. Yea, I remember turnin up at a local stilh dealer and this new fella was workin the counter.. Told me he aught not give me back my broken top saw as I didn't have proof of a ticket to use it.. I didn't even know you needed such a thing at the time.. luckily he saw sense and handed me back ma saw....
  9. Not seen it, not to mention don't need to.. I've already figured Corbyn out.. Hitler/Stalin and his brown shirts from momentum.. He makes George Galloway look sainted... An I wouldn't be so bothered about any of it, were it not for the timing.. I sense a spring election coming up and we need a united front against the lunatic fringe of the Tory party... Havin said that, perhaps a coalition of the willing?.. a whisper here a threat there, a cross party alliance of MP's standing up for the sovereignty of Parliament... Over an opinion poll...
  10. Just one of those summers, been a good year for grass round here, three days of sunshine followed by rain in cycles all through summer... Still, its better than turnin up to a burned lawn that hardly needs touchin in it?, isn't it!!!..
  11. Seems to be agreed you have a good presentation and delivery.. Plus it got me thinking as well, I like to dabble makin stuff myself.. was thinkin of modin a trailer bed I have lyin around and fashion a rudimentary tipper out of it... If I had one of those plasma cutters I'd be on it... as it is, I'll probably end up thinkin about it and leave it at that LOL...
  12. not so much arb but gardening, though I dare say tree choppin might be included.. In butty shop for sandwich, talking to proprietor, Oh my partner does gardening. Oh yea, hows work then.. Does alright, overloaded with work.. Oh I says, I try not to do to much myself, just enough to get buy and a bit extra.. Does he do any tree work I says, No she says, thats to says Yes, but No, in that "he's" a she.. I'm a bit bamboozled till it dawns on me she and her partner are a single sex couple... I had a chat with the both of them a couple of weeks later, I recon that girl does more in a day than I manage in a week LOL...
  13. Trangia stove, or lighter still, coke can cut in two, pour in a bit of meths, pot boilin in ten minutes... not stinking of smoke for the day as a bonus..
  14. I wonder if you could throw it around a farm field ?.. can't see it doin any harm, might even help in some regards...
  15. I was thinking more about the change of pace, a change is as good as a rest as they say..
  16. Why not have a full set of new teeth in the van at all times, change any damaged ones in situ, and sharpen the old ones at home?.. Stefan, I've taken a keen interest in you and what you do for a living.. You say you like tracked equipment.. why not get a mini digger?.. switch it up betwixt stump grinding and digging?.. You could even use the mini digger to get stumps out.. I dare say mini digger work won't involve to much traveling as well..
  17. Well, its all relative in it.. If your GF works in a hospital she's mixing with doctors nurses, surgeons, an all manner of professional people who's spent years studying their respective fields... I don't suppose she holds a tree choppers job in high regards..
  18. I wouldn't mind havin a go at that, we have a row of hawthorn I could have a go at.. maybe in the winter?.. good job on your practice though, got me on Utube watchin the pro's lol...
  19. Would of bin better to include the name of one of the victims of said break in... Joe Blogs robbed last night, other victims of theft as well, keep your eyes out and ears peeled.... Have tar an feather, sharp knife and noose, please reply if one of the scum caught.....
  20. Nice vid Reg, always a pleasure watching them...
  21. Goin to go out my way here, and make a prediction... That Sam allardyce will win the next world cup...
  22. Give it a break man, he's welding up his equipment.. And, is there any need to to imply disparaging insinuation's against his miss's?... out of order:thumbdown:
  23. My take on the whole situation is that Stefan has a lot on his plate and has done for a while... Stefan copes by working hard.. work is his Yoga, his music to relax to... Now I don't judge him for his actions but I do feel he aught ruminate on his method sometimes.. I feel he aught to understand that sacrificing something(his time) for others/his partner, might well have healing qualities equal if not greater, than grinding out a stump...
