  1. funny thing is I have a practice tree a hundred yards from the house, to rope up I free climb it then put the rope over a top branch, descend on a figure eight, then get the rest of my climbing gear to practice... Theres something about climbing it freestyle thats missing when your safely tied in.. you tend to be extra careful and more sure footed...oh I climb in trainers or crocks in ma tree...
  2. I don't think it matters as much what wood you use , as the fact you want it dry.... Never tried it myself, but seen a ton of vids on Utube of folks doing it... I prefer a lighter myself?...
  3. Yea, its a run of bad luck, happened to me the other week, put a mans window through, went back a fortnight later and as careful as I was I ended up putting his sons car window through.. its like a casmic joke been played out in your life.. Chances are you'll never have another problem now for a year or two till the next cycle works its way round to you.....LOL...
  4. OK I have a hour an half to kill, be back later..
  5. Nice job, I'm almost tempted to get a chipper just to refurb it..
  6. Had one years, not bad for those weeds that like lie flat as a pancake on the grass..
  7. After coming across these tree hook video's on Utube, I decided I wanted one. Saw one in seddons and bought it... Its the Captain Hook one, all I need now is a good tree to practice in....
  8. Its the kind of thing that seems like a good idea till you put it into practice... Use once, put away, never to be seen again equipment..
  9. Just mulch with your mower, after you've done it. put it back to collecting mode on a higher setting.... Or use the mower on a higher setting, then lower to mulch.. Can't think why you want to mulch and collect at the same time though...
  10. yea, most holes I seem to dig seem to be on a bed of hardcore... I aught really invest in a hydraulic jack as much as anything else... Ordinarily I take a post hole digger, a trenching spade a long iron bar and a swear box....
  11. Sure beats my view I get of a morning... would you like to swap it for a semi derelict post industrial wasteland?...
  12. I had a run in with a shop assistant a year back because she was yammerin on her phone as I waited to be served.. I asked her if she was paid to work in the shop or was she paid to make arrangements with her daughter on the phone.. Turned into a right slanging match...
  13. LOL see Stefan Molineux its his idea....
  14. Stefan Molinuex makes the point that Africans have an avergae IQ of 80, much the same as people from the Middle East... He points out the Chinese/Asian have the highest IQ along with the Jews... Europeans have IQ just below the Asians and Jews... The point he was trying to make was it wasn't because of a lack of education that Middle Easterners have a lower IQ than us, but that they have dumbed down through breeding... Being a bit skeptical at first I decided to give the matter some thought, and after some consideration have decided that he's right... its not that an African can't become an Einstein, its that for every high IQ African theres two hundred morons in his wake... In Europe it might be for every Einstein theres only fifty morons... its that sort of thing I think he was driving at... So, why not invite those immigrants who will add to our intellectual gene pool and keep out those who will diminish it?.... I realize its a contentious issue, but facts are facts, we need more Jews not Muslims...

No, I mean one or two jobs that might be better off with a bigger mower or smaller one... Richard1234 The mower I have is a 21 inch honda, not half as heavy as Kaaz I suspect. if I want to I can use it as a mulcher, its what I've been doin today.. Flat tire That sounds like a good set up, but all I do is load what I need on the day... Being a Transit pickup, I can't leave things on the van... On mowing days its one Mower, one strimmer and one stihl blower hand held...plus a rake, spade, fork and a couple of gallons of petrol

Well I see it like this, why carry an extra mower for one or two jobs in a day. Better off using the one and making do with that.. Like you said, theres never going to be that perfect mower for all occasions, compromise with a view to efficiency.. One mower 21 inch does the job... bear in mind I mostly do domestic... If it breaks down, its time to think of getting a new one... I want my mower and anything else to start first time every time...

I have a 21inch mower it it does all of the above... was thinking of adding a smaller mower for those stamp sized gardens, but will have to wait.. Very keen on the stihl things though, the thought of less petrol seems to be tipping me over to it as much as anything else.. never thought about that till you mentioned it in one of your posts... Oh, strimmers, just bought a 150 stihl strimmer, well a month or so ago.. smashed one fellas window with it, he wasn't happy.. went back a fortnight later, told him I'd be very very careful and no I wouldn't smash his window again... I feathered the accelerator round his lawn edges and was just about to finish and decided to give it a flurry to finish off.. Smashed his sons new car window.... he wasn't happy... hence my interest in the battery strimmers... can't see those being able to flick a brick across the lawn...

I can't for the life of me see why you need so many mowers, what do you do, collect them or just can't get rid of em?.... On another point, can't remember if it was you who had the stihl battery set up... been thinking of going down that road myself...
  19. Well done to Leicester, its a great day for their fans I'm sure..... better make the most of it over the summer though..... Tottenham, our commiserations having to put up with a team of chokers hahahah....
  20. It doesn't take two minutes thinking on this subject to understand why there isn't any case law to look at on the subject.... Its the proverbial Gordian knot that no judge wants to untangle... I'd hazard a guess, its always going to be an out of court settlement one way or the other.... In some regards this might be a good thing if your the root chopper, they threaten you with court. You tell em to go right on ahead.. they want to settle out of court at some point.. you tell em no way, you want a judge to settle in a court of law.... The barrister knows full well it ain't getting into no court room and settles for pennies...
  21. I love to see a bit of enthusiasm on a project.. makes me feel good just reading how exited you are, well done..
  22. I've taken to eating Pita bread of late, toast em in the oven add bacon, salami and a bit of salad, covered in a dressing of choice, lovely..
  23. little and often rules the day... I did a lot of research on the subject, you need one good meal a day.. you can have the occasional snack for the rest of your calorific needs..
  24. Once?... surely its more than that!!!!.
  25. Thats a terrible way to treat a sock, walk out with em all day, then seduce them, only to discard them when your done like so make trash.... I hope you washed your feet afterwards?..
