  1. I have no pics like this but I think its a cracking idea to post those up that have them.. I have just googled my GG grandfather, and what do you know, I found out where he's buried, Nord in France..... might have to take a pilgrimage one day to pay my respects..
  2. what like getting the tree down and chopped up?...
  3. being the optimist that I am, all I could think about while watching that vid, was what could possibly go wrong....hahah Still, he got the job done.. and a fifty dollar bonus into the bargain... good man....
  4. would that be the newer tranny you just bought?...
  5. I've been looking at trailers myself, these seem to go for about 2000 to 2300... In fact a friend of mine wants a tipper, old gypsy fella, comes down here to shovel out rubble from a caged general purpose trailer. the one he had got robbed from people he knows.... He refuses to pay the two thousand or so for another tipper, but I keep telling him.. your gonna have to bite the bullet and get one, nothing worse than shoveling sand broken flags an bricks out a trailer when all you have to do is press a button instead...

    Heli Ride

wont be long before you have to worry about being attacked by bears instead of crashing in that helicopter LOL....
  7. No, not boring at all.. a good read even.. Hope things work out for you..
  8. I have one, paid good money for it to... Its now stuck in my shed waiting on getting fixed.. I might just leave it like that, and every time someone wants to borrow any of my gear, I can look at that and say.... get thee through that gate... Other than that, yea, handy tools better than the ones with a hose attached..
  9. Is it,?... Should I have used , Some, a few, or one or two people?.... or should I name names?...
  10. I think for the most part, when you see these run ins on the forum, its nothing to get to worked up about... people like a run in now an then, its all in good fun for the most part I suspect.... Instead of getting worked up, might just be a good idea to go read another thread your happier with.... let management or mods deal with threads that go off the rails... they can delete posts if they like, they've deleted one or two of mine... Not that I mind.. must be hard work working your way down a thread when its boring as hell to read...
  11. how about using this method, then tying strops to the longer ones to stop em rolling onto any dodgy area's.. [ame] [/ame] Oh dear, you've already done em.....
  12. OK, sounds fair enough to me....
  13. You didn't mention if these two chaps threatened you in any way... theres a difference between battling away and coming out on top in a good fair fight... and beating someone up on account of catching them in your yard and, the two opponents are scarred stiff... I'm all for a smack in the mouth, as a lesson but not for beating them up on account of the crimes of others...
  14. Zigzag has a rubber thingy to trap the carabiner as well...
  15. If you catch a thief and he threatens you, then you have every right to beat them to a pulp.. What you're not allowed to do is beat up on someone who isn't presenting a threat. As to Gypsies, like they never tire of telling me, theres good and bad in everyone... Some gypsies I know are the proverbial salt of the earth, while others, I'd, well, I won't tell you what I'd like to do... but it ain't good... I've been the victim of their crimes, and had em help me get my truck back one time... I tend to judge them as I find them, and try not to judge them by tarring them all with the same brush, though I admit it can be trying on occasion... Now lets get back to what can be done to stop thefts, having a presence on site seems like the best and most effective solution...
  16. Well if you move into your yard, it'll take the council a few years to shift you anyways... More than enough time to take you off the thieves rosta..
  17. I'm assuming this stuff thats been nicked is in a yard.. ?... Why not get a caravan in there and get someone to live in it for a while, free rent..
  18. If she's a neighbor, then just go round tell her how you feel and see what she thinks.. Might just be that she does feel ripped, but going round will heal any wounds... It also might be the case that she's more than happy with the price and job, and having gone round it'll inflate her opinion of you and your work ethic....
  19. funny you mention tires an trannies.. My nephew was trying to flog some 16in wheels to me the other day.. I've an 02 dropside, he said the bigger tires would make it look a bit better.. Just out of interest, I looked at the train weight, it says 4700 which I find odd seeing as its only a 2 ltr FWD..
  20. LOL funny story.. We should have more of these odd ball encounters posted up, makes for great reading and entertainment...
  21. Impressed, very impressed.... I'd say I was even more impressed than very impressed to be honest.. Where might I see it when it goes on display?... I'm not a million miles from Chorley..
  22. Its a concession, for the most part a thank you will do, I think... But here an there, maybe a token of goodwill offered in the form of a Drink, "a small sum".. will do as well......
  23. Yes, I have my ways.... I refuse to take on jobs if someone wants a cut from them... I return the favor by refusing to accept financial reward if I get someone else a job...
  24. Well A drink in my eyes is offering up a thank you, without money changing hands... I suppose a small token might be acceptable, maybe frame it as petrol money for their days usage....somethin like that might constitute a thank you of sorts..... 20 quid or so....!!!!
  25. ha, would of never of thought of that, just take the plates off....good one..
