  1. Nice upgrade, finally someone who listens. Are they compatible with the mounting plate that is used by ditch witch, toro, kanga, vermeer and boxer? Already got 7 attachments and if I ever need a nimble micro machine, that bull seems just perfect.
  2. There are definetly differences. I sometimes fabricate my own teeth and tried various carbide types, from different sellers and manufacturers. Some are too brittle, some are too soft, some have the sweet spot. My current favourite was namend b40 by the seller, but I'm not from the island so not sure if this is a help.
  3. Those chinese ones are not self propellered and won't help you on inclines or ramps. With the bcs you could use the steering brakes left or right to block a wheel and use the self drive for climbing yout own grindings in front of the wheels even if it means to fight the levers and shift like a man. The AV on the handle could be problematic on the long run maybe. Never used one but am tempted as well in order to get rid of my non propellered walk behind. From my experience the upgrade to Multi tip will be necessary to get rid of the drag in the grindings. Just my thoughts, never used one.
  4. When I look at forelast pic, it seems as if you can adjust the belt tension using the two screws below the engine facing the discharge chute. Maybe you need to loosen the engine mount before in any way.
  5. This or what sometimes works better for me is to wind the jockeyw up, so the rear wheels are lifted. That way you have less weight on the tiny jw which helps manouvering on uneven terrain.
  6. Be careful, there is quite some leverage involved.

  8. Jesus, 720€ on that stump! I would have done it for about 200 or less and I'd be happy to get the job. There must be a serious lack of competition or you live in an extremely wealth area.
  9. You can crossreference them, did it years ago, went with martin pulleys. But at those price tags you can go with Vermeer ones. A source for clutches and hydraulic pumps would be more beneficial.
  10. Your only options seem to be a p28 or a fsi d30. The fsi gives you a tiny more depth, 20% more sweep and a quiter engine with more torque at the downside of having a cooling system to maintain. My vote is the d30 track with blade for most versatility, then d30 wheels for weight, then the p28/38 for price. The 38 will drink as if there’s no tomorrow but will deliver more torque (still less than the d30) and is quiter. Cheapest upgrade is a 38hp on your existing grinder.
  11. My vote goes to the g-coupler as well. Got it maybe 4 years now and am very pleased. Forget the idea of clean hands it will be grease your fingers as good as all the others, keep a regular fitting bc in tight areas the gc is too long. Anyway, it's a pleasure to use.

  14. There is a workaround to replace the chain tensioner for avoiding this, they where the weak link and are like 150gbp, easy install. But a few engines went out before it was spotted. Otherwise the later ones seem bullet proof and thirsty.
  15. Multi tip are an excellent choice on lower hp machines. They shine bc of the missing drag the holders from other teeth give. Rhinos are better suited for higher hp grinders as they hold up better but give more resistance in the wood as their shape is larger. I have MT on a 12hp, on a 35hp and before on a 25hp machine. My bigger grinders use weld on teeth. I would say that MTs make sense up to 30-40 hp, since my 35hp bends or even snaps the leader teeth sometimes, which literarally never happened on the 25hp but it's still acceptable. In general they do very well, are light on the drive train and are a breeze to change on site. Well worth the investment.
  16. Potentilla manchu is drought restistant and a long flowering type. Combine with one or two Prunus laurocerasus 'Otto Luyken' and some ground covering Euonymus fortunei (maybe even 'Emerald'n Gold') could give an easy to maintain bed, that may give a halfway look. Evergreen Geraniums get my vote as well.
  17. I use ez drain valves, they work excellent but don't fit every engine as they need space to be screwed/rotated and the tap sticks out. Think of this before ordering. They won't fit my lombardinis for example.
  18. Wasn't there the need to burnish the clutch to avoid repeated breakdown in a few months? Or is this obsolete today? Regards
  19. Familiy related, I too was in the event-industry from time to time and can tell you one thing: do it!
  20. I use working boots with boa since two years, as expected they are Not treatened with love and show no sign of wear. I bought them after I had a Job in a roofers garden where I saw them. He told me, he has his since two years and wears them everyday on the roof and on the weekend for yardwork at home. I insantly bought a pair. The boa laces spoiled me so bad, I don't wanna wear shoes without it anymore, as it's so comfortable. I don't know, what I like more, closing the mechanism or opening it... what an invention. Now I got a pair for the weekend as well as my wife.
  21. Many thanks again dumper for your reply, it was a 1999. The possible problems you stated and the fact that the machine needs work, will let me steer away from it I think. It's only 7k excl. vat, but something tells me that one means trouble. So maybe better to add a bit and wait for the later model or something completely different like a Dingo. Always too many choices.
  22. Many thanks, dumper. I investigated one yesterday, it was always creeping in one or the other direction and didn't stand still when on a hillside. Is this normal on these units?
  23. 70 a day seems like a steal as well as 200 for a week on a mini ex.
  24. Good evening, anybody has some experience with those really old style avants? They where made in the end of 90s and pop up from time to time for a reasonable price and sometimes even in good shape. I'm a bit tempted because they have no plastic panels, are stupid simple, a little shorter, a little lower and a bit narrower than the current models, while except the lifting hight, the performance seems similar to the latest models. Which gives me the most worries is the chain drive for the wheels, probably something where play comes in and something more to maintain.
