  1. We really need a like button here.
  2. google Calendar, started taking my paper away, but I was missing something. I just wanted to do some quick infos. Then I found google keep in 2015, which is just excellent for quick notes (photos, voice, text or combined), that don't need a shedule, highly recommend both. google keep syncs too:thumbup:
  3. DTV Shredder + CS 100 = tracked chipper
  4. Have you weigthed your blades yet? To my surprise mine where new out of balance approx 30gramms. I doubt that a slight inbalance will harm your bearings. Imagine the unbalanced load, when one side of the drum hits a 4" piece of maple and thaz a few times per second. Beside, stump grinders share similar bearings, you got lots of shock loads or inbalance from dirt and wood sticking in some teeth, but lowers rpms. So as long as you dont mix old blades with brand new, I doubt you stress your bearings much because of slight sharpenig differences.
  5. Even a 25hp grinder get's a lot more than 20 Stumps done a day. With a 7015 or a 60tx it should be a breeze. Any predator 50 users here? With a rotor you will have big chunks of wood and need a tractor, that probably is harder to manouveur through the woods than a tracked grinder. Never used one, but I bet an 80cm oak stump will bring a rotor to it's limit while the roots remain untouched. Just my thoughts
  6. Asked the guys from Vermeer how to move a SC60tx stumper if it ever has an issue. They said there is a screw or similar at the drive motors, turn/remove and the tracks turn free. Probably similar with those tracked chippers.
  7. Got a 1,3mm 0,325 45cm bar on my 5105. Kept sharp, it works fine.
  8. I store my smaller 2 stroke engines half filled to nearly empty. Keeps the rubber parts wet and leaves space for filling up with fresh fuel at the next start.
  9. Scheppach wet stone grinnder here. Similar to the Tormeks, wouldn't dare to touch those blades with anything dry.
  10. Only had one commercial transaction a few months ago with them and can only confirm the opposite. My rhino teeth still sitting in the shed waiting for their first stump, just hadn't the time for comparing.
  11. A few months ago I got 3 frozen little doves, still sitting in the fridge waiting for the pan.
  12. If sharpening is slow, take a high performance angle grinder with diamond disk. When it's decent it doesn't drop rpms, that makes the difference! 12.000 rpms vs 9.000 under load, 30% speed. On a 460 I think you only ever need to change the 2 leaders, ignore the others until they break. The only weak point is, that the the leader teeth someday start beeing not at the same depth in the wheel and you find yourself combining with used/new keepers, which results in 2-3 teeth replacements per position:thumbdown:. They raised the price without any announcement about 20% in my country, that's impudently imho. I don't get how patrick can approve this. White noise, why would you sharpen between the teeth, these edges barely ever touch the wood?!
  13. Joined the club this spring. Usually I only do stumps, but could not pass this exotic one from Italy. GX390, drum, the infeed chute can be flipped towards the engine, the spout can be removed and the best: a hydraulic feed, which I did not saw often in this class. Reverse and forward for sure. Downside is the weight, 250kgs and were the wee wheels, which I replaced with larger puncture proof ones. The painting seems a bit weak. For easier maneuvering I installed the bar with a coupler, so I can pull it with my skid steer dumper, the hitch drive finally found it's purpose too, easier manual movement. So far it's pretty nice to use, the hydraulic feed is a pleasure. Time will tell how it's gonna hold up.
  14. I understood, someone not accepting cash is most likely nonexistent = scam. It was an rhetorical question. Some bigger companies can not accept cash, but that's an rare exception.
  15. Why should one not accept cash on collection?
  16. Never touch your theeth with any sharpening device without wearing a proper respirator. Carbide dust is serious harmful if inhalated.
  17. Nick, where do you see improvements in the new model? Many thanks Marne
  18. When your car park is big and needs cleaning more often, I would go with any wheeled unit. The Stihl attachment works nice but is really heavy and pretty fatiguing to use.
  19. Be prepared to be in need to probably cut the old bearings off. Find out the exact torque for the allen screws and use loctite on them. Good luck.
  20. Did the same, multi tip on my 13hp and 30hp grinder. One of my best decisions in my business. Two downsides so far: The one day the teeth started not to fit the wheel in the same depth anymore, so that I always have to measure how far they stand out and then I have to match them and rotate the keepers until I find a matched pair. No matter if the keepers are used or new:thumbdown: They raised the price 20% this year in my country without any announcement. Not a good business behavior imho.
  21. Km130 here, plenty of torque, insane pressure with the blower attachment. I like tlittle space it takes in the van compared to standalone units. If it dies, I replace only the powerhead instead of a whole piece. I had to replace the clutch once. Make sure to adjust the valve clearance before the 120hrs, easy 20 minute job, mine where completely out of spec. Can imagine this leads to much premature failures. I use only husqy xp oil, no isues and a shiny piston head.
  22. Last year there has been an old sc50tx, that sold for over 100k. It was determined as scam, it came up a few times. So the bidders made fun. Probably the same with the rx28.
  23. Expect the Kohler going out soon. Very rarely the last over 1.500hrs, expect 1.000 from it and take a new engine in your calculations.
  24. Thank you kimtree! @Ackworth I'm very happy with mine. Especially after changing to Multi-Tip. Duals are a must. Keep in mind that the newer 252s have more electrical tchotchke, each time you leave the levers, the cutterwheel will stop, even at full throttle wearing your clutch. This would annoy me endless, cause I pretty often leave the controls for a few seconds to see whats up on the left of the cutter wheel. Just 0,02.
  25. How do the Rhinos wear? Got a bunch here for testing, but have not had the chance to test them yet. They are indeed very well made, hopefully they hold up as good as they look.
