  1. We went to Skeggy for a day in 76 and the beach was a sea of ladybirds. August 09 we were in Mablethorpe and there was a similar plague of ladybirds. There was a fence round the campsite and you could scoop them in handfuls off the top of the fence.
  2. Monsoon season here I think, it's still hitting 30°c in the greenhouse on our back garden during the day. That's without heating and even the wind is blowing warm. It's near Morecambe, a Wise man once told me.
  3. I had a tetanus shot a couple of months ago and they are nothing like they used to be. I used to go in with a cut and come out with a limp. The one I just had I asked if she had actually done it as I didn't feel anything and it was in the arm.
  4. Just had a look on Youtube and they look handy. I wondered where the hydraulic came into it and it clamps the chain as you lower the grinder, nifty tool. Lots of adjustments on it as well and it looks sturdy.
  5. Only spares I bother with is spark plugs and chains, just get the others when you need them.
  6. His mum wouldn't be seen dead with anything less than a 550xp. ?
  7. It sounds like the carb needs some attention or adjusting at least. Once it's started it should keep running and start easier with a simple pull.
  8. A cast iron frying pan. Still using it best one we've got.
  9. I was at the lights at the end of our road waiting for them to change so I could go straight on, lights changed and I set off and a young chap tried to turn right across me. He had his window down giving me a lot of verbal because I didn't give way to him. Have they changed the priority at lights and not told me ?
  10. Have you got a clutch side cover for an old Stihl 020AV pro rear handle saw ?
  11. Pennies is a bit optimistic, pounds is more realistic. £4 or higher is realistic.
  12. Get some lower barriers you inconsiderate buffoon
  13. Sorry for this spuddog, he went to college. Collage is a lot of bits stuck together to make a picture. If he's going to college he obviously wants to learn.
  14. I used to have the sticker on my bike, Fresh Air Ram Technology. I nearly got front ended on a local road by a Polish lorry on the wrong side of the road looking down at a map on his steering wheel. He looked up when my frantic use of the hooter alerted him.
  15. Sounds reasonable to me (I only have 5 usable though)
  16. I hired an electric breaker and a point for the weekend to take out a path in the back garden. I had attacked it with a big hammer and bar and made no impression, it was like bell metal. I was just looking at the job and decided to try the breaker to see how it performed and within a few hours the job was done, no problem. I had to look for more stuff to break up to justify the other days rental.
  17. It sounds a lot when you say it like that
  18. What oils the bar ? I've seen similar home made contraptions for angle grinder conversions and they have the same omission.
  19. Rotatech chains get mixed reviews, I've got a couple for the Husqvarna 135 (same engine as your 435) and had no problems with them. Pretty sure the depth gauge I use is 0.25", yours will be the .325 chain so will help keep engine speed up when cutting.
  20. I went to cut and pick up some Birch that was on Freecycle. When I got there the woman said her brother had cut the tree down with an axe. It looked like it had been done by beavers and had taken him all day to get it down, he was about 70. It was quite big and I cut it into pieces and trailered it away offering to cut any more she needed just for the wood but she has never asked.
  21. Nice little runabout, reminds me of a couple of years ago rounding a corner up Hardwick and coming face to face with a Ferret scout car.
  22. You are not trying to tighten it up so it doesn't wobble are you ? You should be able to pull the chain out so far and there is a limit to how tight you need to go.
  23. And he used to charge us for the cotton dust we took home in our lungs, then wer't days.
  24. I'd say it's not even run in yet at 368 hours, you are just looking for an excuse to buy a new saw Lots of single cylinder motorbikes are running about with many thousands of miles on the clock, the bike analogy doesn't really work.
