  1. If it looks like this one..... I did not think there were many around, thought I had the only one, had it 2 yrs now, no problems as to design and build quality, it gets towed round a wood! Redwood say its about 1998. It get oil, filters changed and blades sharpened, anti stress works ok.
  2. Wet and windy in Sussex, my day in the woods also, will go in and make an effort ( drink tea and come home) where's all that nice weather gone?
  3. Started on me in West Sussex about 12 noon, I lasted 2 hours, promissed I would take this out! Went home to East Sussex and guess what it's doing the same thing here. Oh well hot cuppa and discover what bargins are on Ebay....
  4. Oh I forgot one! if you like to see Steam Engines working rather than just running round a paddock, Tinkers Farm (Hadlow Down Steam Rally) have a "Woking Day " on Sat 27th Sept. Looks like I'm in for a busy weekend. Traction engines - Fairground organs - Narrow gauge railway - Historic vehicles
  5. If your not worn out and spent up at the APF, couple of things next weekend down my way. Sept 26/27/28 Fri/Sat/Sun Bently Wood Fair, Ringmer, East Sussex (bit like mini APF really) went last year, lots of equipment, new and second hand, traditional skills, axe throwing, Mogs.... Woodfair - Bentley Country Park
  6. Talking of things in sheds, was given this by a client the other day, Mac110 1977-1983 still works, even has a chain brake!
  7. My 254xp 15"" bar is kept for big jobs! It has been to Spud for a slight seizure cure, (new piston) now running better than ever I usually use the green 40cc with 16"" bar as everyday saw, just snedding etc
  8. If you cut right back to the (Knuckle) the tree will rush to produce more wood for the next few yrs with little or no apples, I usually pollard apples leaving about 4"" of branch left this then give a better fruiting the following year. A new site I am working on has the same problem, owner cut right back to the main branches last year 2-3 apples per tree this year and lots of new growth. S.G.
  9. First thing I would check is the speedo as 100kph = 64mph if you getting this out of a quad all I can say is apply to NASA!
  10. Glad you got through the day ok, was a bit worried when I read your post 1st thing this morning! Been in the same position myself some yrs ago when running 2 trucks and 2 staff. "We" are talking about young guys having fun on the weekend whilst we are sharpening chains, out quoting for jobs, trying to make sense of double entry book keeping. It's just an age thing I guess, but very annoying for an employer trying to get ahead.
  11. Rest easy Stubby there's always someone older......62 and a bit here
  12. Bought mine last time think it was £21 still not bad, still working ok, went through the chains today as it was wet, so day in the shed! Oh nearly forgot you can get new grinding discs by phoning the Lidl Helpline or of course buy them online.
  13. While looking at a new tool chest for the workshop I came across these on the Halfords site, empty socket set/spanner boxes, down the bottom of the page 3 sizes £9.99 each!
  14. Have a look at: Tractol Paint | Paints & Aerosols: Buy oil, lubricants, greases and more from Smith and Allan
  15. I did wonder when I saw the Land Rover and Stump Grinder, all the very best to you in your new endevours. SG
  16. I recently bought 5 litres of this, it does fly off the end of the chain, marks the tree well so you can see its oiling, it lasts the same time to a tank of 2 stroke. Only problem I had was my saws started to leak in transit, yes there old saws (254xp) etc but they did not used to leak so I am back on the treacle now and all is well.
  17. Nice full grown Oak dropped this branch without warning, wondered what caused it, after taking in to bits found the answer!
  18. I find the "Tommy" bolt thread strips easily, usually carry a spare with me, if you need the whole clamp I have one knocking about in the shed somewhere you can have. Let me know as I will be in Copthorne on Monday morning
  19. I know it as a German Floor covering, we had it in our Mess Room, mops up ok.

  21. All my receipts get entered into an Excel Spreadsheet every night, helps to keep track of whats going on, useful if you know Excel to run reports to see how much you are spending with various suppliers etc. If you don't know much about computers there are several "off the shelf" packages or "pay monthly packages" which the Inland Revenue will accept. Possible best to run a yrs worth past an Accountant first to make sure your claiming everything possible.
  22. I love the Great Dorset, so much to see! If anyones interested "Hadlow Down" Uckfield, East Sussex is on May31st - June 1st (this weekend) to get your juices started, good farm/car jumble as well as the engines and fairground rides, also a train running through the site. Traction engines - Fairground organs - Narrow gauge railway - Historic vehicles
  23. There are a few posts on here about "Chinese Tripod Ladders" you might want to check them out also "Henchman" . Hedge Cutting Platforms, Tripod Ladders, Compost Tumblers, Barrows.
  24. (Former Transit Owner) The name gives it away "Crew Cab Tipper" really a tool carrier, imagine you had 6 blokes or ladies in the cab what then no payload at all.
  25. I have been employed/self employed over the yrs depending on my situation at the time. Will stay self employed now till the end (when I retire ok!) Love the challenges and the planning of the various jobs. Just started work on a new estate this week and this keeps arriving at 11 and 3 o'clock. Wheres that diet thread quick.
