  1. No work today Gentlemen, I'm rained off here in Sussex!!! must say she has some toned arm muscles
  2. Just a quick question: Do you want to charge your drill batteries up on the radio? Not all radios can charge batteries, De Walt do, Makita Do Not Any are ok if you are using them from 240v of course or even the drill battery
  3. Hi Jay, not really had any probs grounding out the ball hitch as the ground is flat but do wish it was higher for another reason. I keep grounding out the bottom of the tow bar and getting jockey wheel stuck when crossing ditches, there are a lot criss crossing in the wood, also a shorter tow bar would be better for getting in and out of the trees. I should really get a compact tractor or small old scrap 4x4 but make do with this set up as its available. It's really designed to live on the back of a transit.
  4. So many replies to this post in 13 hrs shows how upset we are that he has left I think. The term every dog has his day and at the moment its Chris Evans Day, Radio Show, Top Gear, doing the breakfast show live from Biggin Hill next week whilst flying in a Spitfire, hosting a new War Memorial show....
  5. As Jay said I think min 350cc, the Quad in the pic is 400cc 4x4 but only forward n reverse, does the job ok once you get it rolling. There is other quad 4x4 450cc high/low, wide wheels which I find is harder to drive
  6. That looks really useful as have seen a lot of pickups about with wrecked back ends, nice conversion
  7. I use a Yamaha Kodiak 400 petrol to tow a Jenson round a wood, trails are flat but rabbit holes and ditches can be a problem, get a high lift jack and some waffle boards and your sorted. The waffle boards are also useful under the tyres when chipping to stop the wheels sinking with the vibrations. Never tried it on the road though as have 4x4's available.
  8. I taught myself HTML in an afternoon in 1999 and made my own web site with free hosting as it was back then. Loads of software to do it for you now and many more hosting services. £500 seems about right these days.
  9. I was working in a nearby field and saw this bridge up the track so being the nosey kind I went and had a look. Apparently its part of the Wey & Arun Canal built to bring people from London to the Sea back in the day (about 1800 and something). 1st pic the bridge 2nd pic the lock 3rd pic other side looks a bit empty. 4th pic interesting stairs with modern drainage pipe
  10. The review of the Vehicle Excise Duty was kept quiet, just surfacing now. New vehicles over £40,000 and with Emissions greater than 255 from 2017 could attract a high premium. Wonder how long it will be before they go backwards, it's milk floats or nothing! Scroll down to the VED table at the bottom. Budget 2015: new road repair fund and car tax overhaul | Auto Express
  11. Looks nasty, I mowed round this on a Wednesday, came into work Thursday to find it on the floor, split right to the base.
  12. Well I seem to be suffering the same problem, think it is shock due to lack of water, me and the hedge. Have 12 of these on the "Terrace" right in full view of everyone at clients house, typical!
  13. Wishing you all the best on your recovery
  14. You could get all your tickets and have the Forces pay for them as you leave which would be a good start. Kingswood Training (Kent) do a special residential Forces training course for people leaving. I went on a Chipper Course only 1 day and met up with the current team of guys leaving the Forces,, I think its a 2 week course, you get to do everything, might help you decide your next career move. Kingswood Training
  15. Jungle in the UK Autan in Germany, Peaceful Sleep in Africa, all are good so long as they have Deet in them. Remember to pack them in you baggage luggage, I lost a £7 can unused to the nice people in Johannesburg Airport that was in our carry on bag with cosmetics etc.
  16. Been looking at wheeled strimmers this week, some of the jobs I have been doing, different sites 1) round a lake full of builders rubble , brambles, do not want to put a metal blade over this. 2) stock fencing down a farm track, thistles, loads of tracks to keep down as they move the cows from field to field. Hard work 2-3 hrs with a normal strimmer. Been looking at the DR TR4 Premier Recoil £419 basic model, the powered one with electric start is £849! Also the Tondu HWTL wheeled trimmer £266 looks similar but quite a price difference Think it will be the DR in the end given the previous remarks (thanks arbtalkers)
  17. Couple of "shopping cars" and a "tender" and "game viewer" to go on safari in, nice trailer is the kitchen! Oh and just to show they love landys too a 300TDI the V8 Defender is currently in for a refit
  18. Well they have arrived, bit different from the old dealer boots I was wearing, 9"" tall inside compared to dealer boots 6"" inside. Lots of padding round leg, ankles, sole, very easy to get in and out of as was said in the earlier posts. Trying them out in the wood tomorrow Wife will be pleased as looks like I won't hit the brake and accelerator together anymore.
  19. Bit diff for me as i work on Estates, work for three, then given another site by 1, another bought a second house. They then recommended me to someone else, very nice and all that but at 63 I am trying to slow down a bit and there are only 7 days in the week last time I looked. Not going to employ staff, been there done that, had a Ranger and a Transit, 3 of us etc.
  20. 15"" on a 50cc saw for felling .325, 16"" on a 40cc saw for snedding set up for Powersharp
  21. Look impressive I too have ordered a pair, I have problems with my feet so zip sided the way to go. I have a pair of Husky chainsaw wellies I had full length zips put in the back only way to get in and out of them for me anyway, cost a fortune to do and are no longer waterproof for standing in waterfilled ditches but them who wants to do that!
  22. Nothing to do with me but might help someone out? For sale in Lewes Sussex Nissan cabstar driver's seat | United Kingdom | Gumtree
  23. While I was watching that I came across this, much easier on the eye, filing needs a little work..... [ame] [/ame]
  24. Sadly Polly Tunnels can have mishaps, but as you have a lot of air running through it should do better, this was sited next to a hedge with about a foot of soil holding down the poly sides. Used for 200+ tomatoe plants. One night in January and poof
  25. My Daughter sent me a parcel on the 18th from Berkshire special delivery arrived Monday 22nd!!! good old Royal Mail. Think she's overdone it a bit but luv her loads.
