  1. Its cosy not sure about the practicalities though, by the time you have both tripped over the safety harness a few times!
  2. Have you not seen the "double cab" on Ebay? I know its a Scammell but it's still going! 1944 Scammell Pioneer TRMU30 Tank Transporter - Gardner 6LW - Crew Cab - Driving | eBay
  3. 1) Just one more thing before you go......(customer) 2) Wherever you go, there you are (some Irish bloke)
  4. I carry my phone on a belt holster its connected to 999 txt with a saved message giving my location. #so long as of course I can quickly send the txt one handed! SMS to the emergency services | EmergencySMS
  5. You can buy any engine on it's own. All depends what jobs you plan to use the Kombi unit for. If you just need a split shaft strimmer to fit in your vehicle thats ok get a bigger engine, but if you plan to cut lots of hedges, trees with the 1 metre extension on you will need weight training classes to hold a bigger engine unit up than the Km-56, extension and Hedgecutter Attachment. Also quick tip, do buy the carbon fibre extension not the Ali one, costs a little more but so much lighter, always buy the adjustable hedge trimmer, dont' buy the edger (I never got on with it) you will also need to carry a couple of Tommy knobs and a couple of shaft sleeves as running spares along with strimmer line.. If you want another option the Expand-it Hedge Cutter £70-£80 will fit a Stihl Kombi Engine shaft with a tiny mod to the end of the shaft (cut 20mm off with hacksaw) this I find so easy for cutting shrubs and tops of hedges.
  6. I bet its £30,000
  7. Phew I thought this chap had popped out for some supper.....the rubbish we have round the place you would not believe
  8. I am so glad, left job in Horsham at 1pm as it was raining so hard and a force 8 gale. Never saw anyone about to say goodbye too.......
  9. A very unpopular Poplar! nice of it to fall on the hedge and not into the Bridleway.
  10. Your'e late it's 7:17 get to work ( and have a good day!)
  11. Finding a well maintained chipper is the first thing, not sure why it needed all those chassis spares if its in as good condition as you say but then it's 10 yrs old. 500hrs is not a lot really at all. I have had mine a couple of yrs and no breakdowns only servicing, works well for what I use it for.
  12. I use a KM 56 two stroke ( my 5th one), terrible vibrations but works me, I trim lots of large hedges, shrubs, grass banks, low hanging tree branches. Do not buy the 4 mix models, everyone will be along shortly to tell you why! Stihl are going back to Two Stroke Models hopefully in 2015 as I would like a larger engine. While your browsing have a look at Echo and Husquvana versions as well.
  13. I like the bit in the brochure which says we can come in while your gardener is not around to treat your lawn yer right! Had a company treat a lawn before the client's daughters wedding, it turned blue, the client was not amused as I had spent weeks getting the garden in tip top shape. The Manager of the company had to come out and respray the lawn.
  14. Step ladder with foot bars on both ends, claw hammer under the middle and away you go, or take someone else with you and 2 step laddesr so much easier!
  15. As I have a new wife I suppose I had better make an effort, always wanted to buy her a Wifey Valentines Card.
  16. I must say Aspenarb you do have some interesting kit, what with the trucks, mogs and now this. Back to the OP's question I think you need to buy both!!!!! then you will be totally sorted for transport, though the Mule will do most things, Quad requires a trailer or at least one of those boxes on the carriers, never worked out if it's better to have a box on the front, can't see where youre going or a box on the back, trouble getting you leg over!
  17. I put postcard size cards in grocery, garden centres and post office windows in areas I wanted to work in. The ladies always read these! (power behind the throne and all that) They also think you are local when in fact some cards were miles away from my base but in a good work area. Also you can test out an area before going for a newspaper/parish mag advert which are also good.
  18. Brighton & Hove Low Emission Zone Starts today, Buses first then the rest of us later on, all those smiley Transits will be on Gumtree very shortly.
  19. Happy Birthday I know just how you feel and I'm 63 in April
  20. Another day at the coal face, first 3 pics are work in progress today. The pictures of the logs is how it will look "after". Loads of branches dropped all round the wood thanks to the new year storms as well. A Groundie's job is never done.
  21. Good work Paul, I do enjoy your posts, glad to finally see a pic of someone who is old enough to shave (even if he has lost his razor). Your students look so young or maybe I look so old hahaha he says.
  22. When I lived in Windsor/Ascot 4x4 were for off pavement, the school sports day, towing the polo ponies about. Glad to say now I am in Sussex proper 4x4 country, pity I sold the Ranger ah well. Bluemerlin thats a nice sorted truck you have.

  24. To get round Oak tree roots we had to install piles before construction.
  25. You shop at the same places I do, we must have good taste! I find a carrier bag hung on the gear stick makes a good bin bag, dump next time I am in the garage , it's and endless circle .....
