  1. I run this 400 Kodiak towing a 1.3 ton chipper round the woods... you can see the petrol gage go down. The 450 road legal is not much better, the bigger tyres give a good grip off road.
  2. Congrats on a nice piece of kit, I used a 740 diesel manual start (thats another story lol) for two yrs on a walled garden (1 acre) used the 80cm no problem, those engines/gearing give loads of torque. Even had a rebar wrapped round the tines, had to take a grinder to it. The Plough is also very good turns up house bricks so you can pick them up. Also the Sickle Bar on wild flower meadows.
  3. Saw one like this on Ebay a little while ago, different house, was on Sorn for 12 months then wondered why lol, this chap must have bought it.......
  4. As everyone has said Makita Lxt / Bosch / Dewalt, Li-Ion do not buy Nicad. You need at least 3 amp hr (4 amp hr is the new standard). Watch out for Screwfix Deals, buy the drill and 1 battery, get another battery at same time at a good discount, then buy a "bare" impact driver and your sorted. Battery charge times have come right down some are only 30-45mins now.
  5. So I went to a large DIY store to get a couple of bags of Miracle Gro compost (2 for £10), lots of pallets in the car park out front, compost, bark ships ect. I parked next to it ready, went in said to girl what I wanted, she handed me a piece of paper and a pen and asked me to go write down the bar code off the bag so she could sell it to me! Have they not heard of price look up tables, usually a strip of bar codes sellotaped to the side of the till. Good job it was a Wednesday, can you imagine the fun on Saturdays.
  6. Dean you're just teasing us and enjoying it go on admit it.........Oh and I'll have the one on the right, can't be fussy at my time of life.
  7. Screwfix also do a card payment reader, £99 ish 2% commission
  8. Silky I hear they do a good Kebab, love the Gastro posts btw and your tour of the UK, keep it up
  9. Was sunny in Sussex but 4pm now clouded over did get a lot done so feet up this weekend.
  10. Biggest I have is varied size as I felled this for firewood rather than other use, there are 6 butts on the floor which come near to your requirements, all sorts of sizes 11,12,16 across, 12-18 deep. ake it your in Rye so can bring them home to Eastbourne if needed.
  11. Why do people buy this really useful kit and not use it , crazy!
  12. Yamaha Kodiak 450 here, does the job. Oh and nothing wrong with Hondas either I worked for them for 7 yrs...
  13. and a Bacon Sandwich with a brown sauce dispenser on the side! I prefer the German one as theres less manual handling, just need to be a multi cutter, ah well back to my axe and rubber tyre.
  14. Will have a look in the wood on tuesday (tomorrow) think I have some Scots Pine about that size.
  15. Rob of chainsawbars has a nice description of the different chains, some sharpen quicken, some run slower but stay sharp longer etc. Chainsawbars ? chainsaw chains, chainsaw bars and chainsaw accessories
  16. I usually use 6ft X 4"" fence posts cut in half for legs then planks accordingly.
  17. You don't need a chainsaw, you need a hack saw for that one, interesting.....
  18. You could hire one from Gerorge Rose, Buxted High St, about 8hp would do. Or a BCS Engine unit with rotovator attachment if you can find one second hand.
  19. Just fancied one really! Yes I do have a small Husky 136 for that at moment.
  20. I went all Ally as Transit payloads are poor at best, James did you see the Yellow Iveco 6.5 ton on West Sussex Gumtree £2700 100k?
  21. I quite fancy one of those cheap Mitox Top handles for next to the chipper for nipping off odd bits that won't run through properly. I know this is prob so very wrong as 1) I do not climb 2) I dont have a CS39.
  22. Many yrs ago I had my Transit Tipper insured with Norwich Union (Aviva) for "any driver" there were 3 of us all over 25 .... when I renewed I asked if there was any way of reducing the premium and was told "any driver" is based on a 17 yr old with a drink driving conviction. I then changed to drivers over 25 and saved a lot of money.
  23. :thumbup1:Welcome to Eastbourne!
