  1. I too have the same problem with my 254xp, replacement pot n piston lean seized I think, did work ok for 5 months after I bought it. It's off to Spud when I can find a box big enough, like the cup cake shipping idea though.
  2. I worked for a house in Ascot for 8 yrs they had 4 great Danes...enough said, snow shovels are a wonderful invention, nice long handles.
  3. Finished 2pm home at 3pm ahead of the rain, all tucked up now till Monday unless anything falls over .
  4. Well the rain started at 3pm just like they said it would! Trains in South East speed cut down from 8pm tonight due to high winds (50mph) are there any trees left?
  5. One like that hit my passenger door last week, always get them crossing the roads in Ashdown Forest, they even have there own "Deer Crossing " sign!
  6. That looks very similar to the one I bought in Lidl! £19.99 when there about... I suppose there all variation on a theme... excellent results, there are several people on Arbtalk use them.

Couple of links to places in Sussex to give you and idea of prices and sizes, I rented a stable for £65 pcm from one of the farms, most of the farmers would do parking and possible further yard space if approached.   8. You know your getting old when policemen start to look young! Two fresh faced youngsters stopped me in the dark one night whilst driving my Transit tipper. Put me in the back of the Police Car to check me out over the radio. When they got a call about a robbery at a filling station they chucked me out! I asked why they had not searched me before putting me in the car, then put a multitool, secateurs from belt holster, silky from leg pocket on there bonnet.... left them to think about that one.
  9. Having tried WD40, 3 in 1 PTFE, White Grease, an old motor engineer got me onto Duck Oil, he sprays it over everything...... quad seat nice and slippery now!
  10. Just heard on the 6am news 2 more weeks of rain with 80mph gusts of wind round the coast... lovely not!
  11. 8ft concrete posts are extremly heavy be careful, as it's been said 2ft in the hole, 6ft panel.
  12. Although I have access to a splitting maul, wood grenade etc I still prefer my 4 1/2 lb felling axe every time, keep it razor sharp goes through most logs.
  13. Bright and sunny at home, going to Horsam to a job and storm clouds, torrential rain, roads closed everywhere due to flooding, trains stopped! Turned round and went back to the sunshine ! looks like my garden going to get a make over today

  15. Welcome to the Early Risers Club!. Congratulations to the new Dads, hate to tell you you have 20 yrs of broken nights so get used to it..you have 4am feeds, 3 month colic, teething, then just when you get your head down there 16 and you lay awake waiting for the key in the door or the phone call for Dad's Taxi. ~(Father of 5 so it can't be all bad)
  16. HaHaHa I used to live there, in the summer it's 1-2 ft deep, kids like being splashed by cars to cool off, serious stuff in the winter though. These pics are from March 2008! Much higher in 2012!

  20. I started on 01/01/2000 hard to find anyone sober apart from me! As its been said: Cards in News Agents / Post Office windows in the areas you "would like to work" means a ride round but I found it was worth it. Cards in posh Garden Centres if they allow them....free or small donation in the charity box helps.The wives who live in the big houses shop there. Make a Company Web Site, suitable email address up. Sweat Shirt with Company Name on Nice Portfolio/book showing types of work you do, insurance etc for when your phone starts ringing. The rest you have already done, good luck in your new venture.
  21. As its just light branches on the roof and obsticles below, I personally would take it to bits, one "branch" at a time from the bottom. Days work at a leisurely pace, but then I'm an old fella.
  22. Apart from stock fencing a wood this summer most of my fence jobs are repairs due to storm damage Oct-Mar so usually do most of the fencing during the winter months!
  23. Wow thats a big one, never had to do anything that size but have done a few domestics. One had "trunks" as big as your am/leg growing 4-6ft vertically on the top. Luckily was able to park the truck next to it and drive along. Did surprise me when I got to the tip and the waste weighed in at 1/4 ton.
