Hi Lee, The Head Gardner where I used to work came from Aus to take on the job in the UK, he said they were extremely strict about quarantine, when he went back couple of yrs later, sold all his gardening equipment, even threw away his boots. Also did not put Gardener on his form other wise apparently they take all you have to bits and dont put it back together. Better check with someone who knows the score or all your cleaning will be for nothing, sorry and all that. SG
  2. All 3 Cables are stuck up, take them off the "handle bars" and run some WD40 down them.
  3. What about one of the air inflatable "bouncy castle" type things with a roof for temp outdoor working, that would have a fan in it as well.
  4. Got a call Sat Morning from one of the sites I work on, conifer down across one ot the internal roads. Made a right mess ot the kids tree house, luckily T Rex came along and lent a hand.

  7. One place I used to mow the lawn got 1/2 pint of orange in 4 yrs when mowing the lawn, it was 92f and the husband (a doctor) did not want me to collapse so he had to finish it.

  9. I was reading on here some courier companies have chainsaws on the "prohibited" list, I know if you dont tell them.... I just sent a saw via Ipostparcels, easy web site, make sure printer is connected to print the label, saves you £1.50, size of box does not exceed 43cm and weigh under 10kilos cost me £8.99
  10. Just a heads up if you do buy a pump from Screwfix, check online that they have the outlet hose in stock, it used to be "order in next day". Or order the whole lot direct from the Warehouse to yourself, you will need a Jubilee clip but guess you have one .
  11. I ran 2 x 536 QXE for 10 yrs, they do a good job if a bit heavy approx 55 kilos, make sure the lawns not flooded or you will go plowing. Check adjusment on the cables and oil reguarly, clean plug, sharpen blade, change oil, clean air filter thats about it. Keep the bag clean and tidy as a replacement bag is £70.00 The price of £200 seems good have seen them £500-£600.

I was working at one place and the neighbour asked me to quote on a similar silver birch set in his front lawn, "one thing theres a TPO on it" really........ so I contacted the Council Tree Dept, "please state the % of the reduction you plan to do" I walked away from that one, life is just to short.
  16. I used to go fishing on Ham Island, at Datchet the river used to rise and cover the landing stages at the boat yard, we were used to that much, never realised it was so bad till I saw this vid.

  22. So sorry to hear your news Jon, it's3:30 am am up as we have high winds and hail lashing the windows front and back and now a thunderstorm to go with it, whats next!
  23. Will def have to look out a course I think, try and do something topical every year, nice to meet other people and the instructors, you pick up a lot of other info as well.
