  1. I got fed up of buying expensive tapes whilst working on site, i love the stanley powerlock, but got fed up of them being pinched, so i bought 3 or 4 b&q 8mtr tapes, and hayho, not one pinched and ok i might only get a year out of them, but at about £4.00 a time, i dont mind.
  2. David, have you thought about job agencies, there should be some around you offering warehouse type work or drivers mate jobs. Ok money is low but it is money after all. Or have you tried farm labouring or something in a similar role. Yes its low paid but at least you would be working, gaining some experience of work and earning money. Also get on your bike and get pedling, the further you go, the more you will achieve. Good luck.
  3. I think jon (mendiplogs) has one, and he really rates his.
  4. Timberbear, i like the look of that, what make / model is it.
  5. Haha, i'm sure i had this guy trying to pressure my dad into buying one just b4 xmas. He had just started the thing when i turned up. Claimed we had to buy it now he had started it up as they wouldnt let him back on the ferry with it. But my dad did buy some socks.
  6. :lol:showing initiative, less bodywork, more payload.
  7. I used to be the same, but one simple step i took to ease my mind, was to make sunday a day of rest. The only thing i do, is to spend time with the family and chill. I dont go anywhere near the tools. It may not ease the workload, but it does ease the stress on the mind.
  8. Shavey, has yours got that horrible chunky looking tool-less tensioner system or the old type screw bar type. I can only find one model that has the normal type of tension screw.
  9. I was looking at a mitox at the weekend in a stihl dealership. To me it looked and felt plasticky, but maybe its because of its colour. I am interested in this because i'm after a cheap new saw, to be used on rough stuff so to speak. I have had a mcculloch for god knows how many years and it has never let me down, although its time it was replaaced. I have been looking at a new mac, but just wondered if the mitox was worth a punt.
  10. Gardenkit, how would you say the standard mitox saw ( back handle ) compares with the likes of mcculloch for a cheap back up saw / rough saw. As presumably they are very close on price.
  11. Along the same lines, how do you get your pictures onto google images ?
  12. What is it your thinking of doing ? have you already got your tractor ? More information the better the answers.
  13. Wouldn't mind, but the first one has got 25 people watching apparently.
  14. Can i just ask what size studs come on the 7900, and what bar mount does it have ?
  15. I have both the cheap plastic starter greenhouses, and have 3 aluminium houses all bolted together on the allotment. I always start my plants, (whatever they are) in the cheap plastic one. I erect it about this time of the year start my seeds off, then after a couple of months transfer them to the main greenhouse. I then pack my plastic one up until next year. I got all my greenhouses out of the local free adds, dirt cheap. All i had to do was dismantle them. Which is ideal, because then i could mark them up ready for re erecting. As for keeping the heat down, i have taped bubblewrap to the insides of the windows. Works a treat.
  16. Really keen on the 3rd woman, crouching down.
  17. I saw a farmer the other day using a manitou pulling something like a 25 / 30ft trailer, first with bags of fertilizer and then hauling some timber out the woods. Seemed a nice set up.
  18. Theres one that does the village near me, parked up from tea time onwards, but i never really see anyone going to it. Last time i went, they did a cracking pie n peas tho. However, In a laybye near me on a busy road, there is a chap that sells stuff from the back of an old cattle trailer for a farmer. He sells the usual spuds, eggs, carrots etc. I bet he has been in the same place every year for the last twenty years or so. He always has customers at the trailer. Thats the way i would go if it was me. Have you thought about a flower van, selling flowers.
  19. See Rob at euro1 training services, he's based on carcroft ind est. top bloke.
  20. Citroen all the way for me, i had a ultra reliable c15 for nearly 9 years, and in december bought a new shape berlingo multispace. Me personally, wouldnt look at anything else for that type of vehicle.
  21. Tbh, i quite like my wellies. I did make the mistake of buying from internet, so they do seem quite large. However as with all my wellies, i put in a insole and wear 2 pairs of socks and they are fine.
  22. Out of interest, how big a bar do you think the 084, will cope with for milling.
  23. Depending on how much they need sharpening, depends on what i use. For a quick touch up, i use a file. For a bit more, i may use a dremel If the chain is in a right mess, i have a clarke chain sharpener. Bought it from machine mart, cost about £60. Brilliant little thing.
  24. My daughter stood next to an uprooted turkey oak, i believe. ( i may be wrong ) I'm dealing with at work.
