  1. Really impressed with the home made jig. My mind tends to go blank when thinking about making jigs.
  2. That looks really smart in that position. Well done.
  3. I have my class 2, but not driven hgv's in years, but i do know that if need be i wont be able to drive them from september unless i have done the hated dcpc, although i have the management cpc.
  4. i am also at a loss to find the right words. so sorry for you.
  5. That is bloody brilliant. I wish i had just a fraction of your talent.
  6. isnt this from when a train hit a chipper that was too close to the tracks ?
  7. I am sure i have read an article in a magazine a while back about a vehicle bodybuilder, (in derbyshire i think ) doing an after market conversion on the jimny to a pickup. Also if my memory is correct, when the original sj / samuri came out didnt they do a long wheel base version with a fibreglass top that could easily converted into a pickup.
  8. As i dont think there are any new small half ton pickups available any more, in an ideal world i would love subaru to reintroduce their old pickup.
  9. to me it looks like a jimny front end and supercarry rearend. It could work depending on mechanics.
  10. I've got the same one, brilliant little piece of kit. The only problem i've had with it is the 3 safety trip switches. In the end i disabled 2 of them and just kept one live. Apart from that i love it. Dont use it as often as i should tho.
  11. Same here, i use use the oregon one with no problems, and at half the price what more do you want.
  12. For biscuit joints, i just use a biscuit cutter bit in my router.
  13. On a serious note, what are the makita / dolmar top handles like. I heard they were the lightest on the market.
  14. Never owned one or used one, but yes, that is a sexy saw !
  15. Depending on bar length you want to use, but for a saw in the 50cc cat, i'd go dolmar 5105, ask shavey and tcd about them.
  16. Didn't the makita dcs5000 models also suffer from engine malfunction of similar sorts ?
  17. Another vote here for the husqy 135, decent little saw, will handle what you want it for.
  18. It looks a smart project, but that front ' A ' frame just doesnt look right for me.
  19. I like that, something so nice and functional, yet simple looking.
  20. If i was to go back to being self employed with my own joinery company, i would actually base it around the school runs. I wouldnt mind it and just factor it in.
  21. my friend does the gardens for the local church, so i help him out now and then. Also his wife organises social events, fayres etc. So now i make the things for them to sell or raffle to raise money for the church.
  22. Nice project. Keep the photos coming. Its an interesting idea.
  23. I have the pasload im350 framing gun and it is a decent piece of kit. Yes you need gas as well but it is supplied with the nails which are very expensive. The gas doesnt work very well in winter so you have to keep the gas warm. If possible i would try an air nailer, see if you can cope with the air lines and compressor, the nails are also a lot cheaper. Basically for site work i use the pasload, for workshop i believe the air nailer is best.
  24. Spotted this doing a tractor run around pickering last sunday.
