  1. Them liverbird towers look like the old wembley twin towers to me.
  2. i have been for a walk tonight, seen a small storm windblow, blocking a footpath that is hard to get to. If its still there at the weekend, i will cut it up and have it. Clear the footpath as well. I personally carnt see the problem.
  3. Makita, i run a ea4300, had it about 18mths now. Carnt really fault it. So for me it has to be makita.
  4. Dont forget the makita range. They do some nice saws, well capable of doing what you want.
  5. As the others have said, not much to choose between any of the top makes, just depends on what colour you prefer. But another name to add is that of matabo. I use matabo drills at work and really rate them. If not them then i'd go makita.
  6. when i first started out as an apprentice joiner in the 80's, my first van was a Bedford HA van in green. Really loved that van. Have always had small vans, they suit me down to the ground. Now looking to replace my citroen c15 with a newish berlingo. Still wanting an old tractor tho.
  7. Never been bothered about mogs, but i saw this little cutie yesterday and fell in love with it. I dont know what model it is or anything. The guy using it was using it to carry his 5 ton mini digger around. It was a nice little set up.
  8. At The hospital where i work, the gardners lost about 10k worth of gear, and nearly lost their van. This was at mid day, and three of them broke into the workshop whilst the gardeners were upstairs having lunch. This was in doncaster. 3 men, white transit.
  9. 43, and old enough to realise i prefer to work alone if possible.
  10. I have a makita, a small 40cc and i love it to death. It's been totally reliable, and done all i've asked of it. Even my instructor was impressed with it on my recent cs31 course. Stubby is right, TCD does import dolmars, but hes a man of his word and uses dolmars everyday, so he knows his stuff. I believe dolmars do have a slightly better set up, but that is no detriment to the makita.
  11. As recommended for fencing, i'd go for husqy 135. If not, i personally like makitas. Not to be laughed at. If you dont like the blue, then get one in orange (dolmar ).
  12. My own gates, and a basement price gate and side panel.
  13. I like that, good idea. If you dont mind i might copy that idea next year, when i make a couple of show gates.
  14. cheers james, i've just liked yours I've got garden kits thru your link, but i'm having problems finding him if i type it in on facebook:confused1: Is it possible to link to each others pages thru facebook
  15. just tried searching for your page, what is it called ?
  16. Really nice work. How long did it take to do ?
  17. i sometimes use a dremel for sharpening. i have the battery powered one which is ideal to take away with you.
  18. I used to have a petrol engined plane attatched to some string that you had to hold. bloody thing only flew in circles, talk about being dizzy.
  19. My dad has a husky 135, its a light compact little saw, that would do the job. I have a makita thats super reliable as well.
  20. I'm sorry but if anyone said owt about my parents (in jest or otherwise) they would get a punch on the nose, regardless of who they were. imo them type of jokes are off limits. Doesnt anyone respect elders or peoples parents anymore. And before you say i carn't take a joke, your wrong.
  21. Please dont panic. i've just done my cs31. As long as you take your time and listen to your instructor, you will be fine. Your assessment is practical with questions along the way. Good luck.
  22. It depends how much you want to pay, if you want a coil nailer, or strip nailer. I use a paslode for construction use, but thinking of getting a coil nailer for the compressor. A good cheap one is the one in machine mart (about £140 ). I think most strip nailers are pretty much alike. Some are just painted in different colours, but sell for much more than competitors.
  23. I earned my black belt in wado ryu karate, years ago. Have also experienced kickboxing, judo and boxing. Not really kept any of it up, although i keep thinking about a go at boxing again.
  24. I'm having big problems with my dewalt pin gun at the moment. It keeps jamming up, then miss firing, then double nailing. Its horrendous. Had it in for repairs a few times, and it still comes back in the same state. I use a compressor and air pin gun in my manufacturing, seriously thinking about a 110v compressor for site work at this rate.
