  1. I have a makita, a small 40cc and i love it to death. It's been totally reliable, and done all i've asked of it. Even my instructor was impressed with it on my recent cs31 course. Stubby is right, TCD does import dolmars, but hes a man of his word and uses dolmars everyday, so he knows his stuff. I believe dolmars do have a slightly better set up, but that is no detriment to the makita.
  2. As recommended for fencing, i'd go for husqy 135. If not, i personally like makitas. Not to be laughed at. If you dont like the blue, then get one in orange (dolmar ).
  3. My own gates, and a basement price gate and side panel.
  4. I like that, good idea. If you dont mind i might copy that idea next year, when i make a couple of show gates.
  5. cheers james, i've just liked yours I've got garden kits thru your link, but i'm having problems finding him if i type it in on facebook:confused1: Is it possible to link to each others pages thru facebook
  6. just tried searching for your page, what is it called ?
  7. Really nice work. How long did it take to do ?
  8. i sometimes use a dremel for sharpening. i have the battery powered one which is ideal to take away with you.
  9. I used to have a petrol engined plane attatched to some string that you had to hold. bloody thing only flew in circles, talk about being dizzy.
  10. My dad has a husky 135, its a light compact little saw, that would do the job. I have a makita thats super reliable as well.
  11. I'm sorry but if anyone said owt about my parents (in jest or otherwise) they would get a punch on the nose, regardless of who they were. imo them type of jokes are off limits. Doesnt anyone respect elders or peoples parents anymore. And before you say i carn't take a joke, your wrong.
  12. Please dont panic. i've just done my cs31. As long as you take your time and listen to your instructor, you will be fine. Your assessment is practical with questions along the way. Good luck.
  13. It depends how much you want to pay, if you want a coil nailer, or strip nailer. I use a paslode for construction use, but thinking of getting a coil nailer for the compressor. A good cheap one is the one in machine mart (about £140 ). I think most strip nailers are pretty much alike. Some are just painted in different colours, but sell for much more than competitors.
  14. I earned my black belt in wado ryu karate, years ago. Have also experienced kickboxing, judo and boxing. Not really kept any of it up, although i keep thinking about a go at boxing again.
  15. I'm having big problems with my dewalt pin gun at the moment. It keeps jamming up, then miss firing, then double nailing. Its horrendous. Had it in for repairs a few times, and it still comes back in the same state. I use a compressor and air pin gun in my manufacturing, seriously thinking about a 110v compressor for site work at this rate.
  16. Hi shane, i put up a thread a few weeks ago, as i'm after the exact same thing. I have not found any suppliers yet, so i will probably make my own.
  17. For me it would have to be the T5, as i dont like any merc. But what about a toyota hiace ?
  18. Now that, is what you call a bench. Excellent work.
  19. I actually thought that there was a bit of camera trickery going, due to the angle of shot etc, and that he didnt actually cut it.
  20. If i didnt know any better, looking at them houses, that could be my estate. We have near identicle houses.
  21. Yep ! Dean Lofthouse is in that neck of woods.
  22. dont know if its true, but makita are supposed to have the lightest top handle saw in the market, and its a good little saw by all accounts. ( i dont have one myself )
  23. Now that i do like the look of, even better than a mog !!!
  24. I've got a little dremel. Mines the cordless one, but the corded ones start at about £40, i think. It works fine for me, just get the correct size stones and away you go. But i have also been looking at the clarke one in machine mart.
  25. Just done my cs31 with a makita, that also was a full revs test.
