  8. Steve, what kept going wrong with yours, i keep toying with the idea of getting a freelander to pull a small caravan. Are they worth it or not.

  13. why not and get the makita repaired by a pro, thats what i would do personally. If not my dad has a husky 135, its a homeuser saw, and its a decent piece of kit and around your budget too.
  14. Good piece of work you have done there matey.. How did you start in carving.
  15. Brings a tear to my eye reading this. I had my beloved meg put to sleep about 2 months ago. She was a whippet / collie cross, she was my constant companion as well, time is a healer, but i do have a picture of her on my desk to remind me of her. I will get another dog one day, but i am scared that i will always compare the next one to meg.
  16. There are plenty of threads on this in the chainsaw section. Baiscally its what you feel is right for you.
  17. Its not my type of thing, but if it suits your purpose then well done for imagination.
  18. If you can, go for the 7900 / 7901 instead, some people on here swear by them. Thats next on my list.
  19. I quite like my makita 4300, its only 12 mths old but i just love it.
  20. Brilliant pieces of kit, i like the little pto chipper.
  21. I had this last week. For the last 12 months i've been working for the local nhs on an 'as and when basis' however, i have never been laid off in the whole 12 months. For a few months informal negotiations have been going on about a better contract. Last week i got told i had a 6 mth contract on better pay, however due to rules and regs i had to have a proper interview, my boss just said come to my office for nine and we will do it then. Now as i was working that day i could of turned up in my uniform, however i decided that as it was still an interview and no contracts have been signed yet i went for the full works, trousers, shirt, tie and jacket. I know i made the right choice, just from the comments i recieved. You should treat it as a proper interview and nothing less.
  22. Looks like a bloody good job to me matey. Well done.
  23. What type of heads do they have, are the replacements easy to come by.
  24. I am open to suggestions of other makes, but ideally i would like a split shaft one, just for the ease of storage/ transportation. thanks.
  25. Just been looking at the makita gear, i'm just wanting a standard strimmer but unsure wether makita strimmers are split shaft which is what i'm after.
