  1. Go for it, i've never driven one but always liked the look of them. If it's what you want then good luck and go get one.
  2. I failed my advanced city and guilds in carpentry & joinery, but it has not stopped me from earning a decent wage, and working on some very tricky jobs, and also jobs where i have felt privileged to work on projects of prestige. In my mind experience beats qualifications every time.
  3. Haha, i've always liked the look of them. Ideal for my allotment runs etc.
  4. It carnt be as cold as last saturday, when i was up at T Kirks. It was bloody freezing.
  5. I made my mam a new stepped planter for her garden. Got the wife a bottle of wine from the kids and made her brekkie in bed.
  6. Makita's are worth a look at, not as main stream as the orange 2, but they are worth considering. Quite a few have them on here including myself.
  7. Pie Eater beat me to it, but have you thought about the makita, not tried one personally, but heard good things about them.
  8. Hi all, today i passed my cs30 (or whatever its called now). I know its nowt to shout about passing the basic test, but i would still like to thank Jim Philpott (instructor) and Dave Booth (examiner) from TKF for their fantastic tuition and support whilst on the course. Thank you guys.
  9. I'm glad someone else asked the question I've been wondering the same thing:lol:
  10. TCD, where do you get your spare chains and bars from for your dolmars. I take it the same bars will fit makita's as well. I'm after a 15" bar and chain for my ea4300, and a 18" bar and chain for small milling with. cheers.
  11. Please put up a report if you do demo this nailer, as i am interested in it aswell, due to me already having the pin nailer. cheers.
  12. As i said before, i have 2 fein drills, both have been brilliant but now just about dead after about 6 - 7 years hard site work. If i carnt get to replace them, then i will be looking at makita. Incidentley work has provided me with an 18v 4amp metabo drill. Its not a bad piece of kit at all.
  13. Didnt hitachi buy into tanaka, or am i mistaken ?
  14. well done, who did you do your training with ?
  15. If you can stretch to it, you want to get an evolution chop saw (approx £170 ? ) there blades are designed for cutting timber, metal, alloy ,plastics etc and will easily do what you want it to do. If not go the jigsaw route.
  16. Have a search through the other threads. Then you will realise its makita !!
  17. Doesnt TCF Engineering in wales sell a tuned up dolmar for milling ?
  18. I love this. As i have 2 daughters ( pre teen) i'm dreading when they start dating. ( but not as much as the boys that will have to meet me !)
  19. Who you trying to kid mate, builders might be doing well in your area and in london. You come up north and take a look around. Its a totally different ball game. Please dont tar everyone with the same brush.
  20. I used to have an old shape panda ( 2wd ), it used to go anywhere and everywhere. Just a pity the engine didnt like to start in the wet.
  21. I have a paslode that i use in construction, but in the workshop i use air nailers all the time. The only thing that puts me off air nailers on site is the thought of having hoses on the roof. For longevity i would go for air nailer.
  22. the sj was the first vehicle that i really liked and wanted. Sadly i have never been in a position to get one. But after looking at yours and the jimny, i might just have to find a way of getting one. Even if it will be used as a van.
