  1. I love my allotment, just wish i could spend more time on it. This year my dad is sharing it with me due to him getting on a bit, so instead of him struggling with his own and me not managing mine properly it suits us both. We only grow standard stuff but thoroughly enjoy it. my dad likes to grow chrysanths , and i like to grow sweet peas, so plenty of colour this year.
  2. Hi All Been asked to make a few rabbit hutches and runs, what does everyone make them out of, how big and more importantly how much to charge. Thanks in advance Harvey.
  3. This sounds very dodgy. Got to ask why the secrecy.
  4. interesting ! How are you supposed to find this info out, if they dont tell you! If i take away any offcuts of timber away from a joinery job, does this mean i need a license as well
  5. What about a makita top handle instead.
  6. I just bought a husky 135, just before xmas, its not trio brake, but it is a nice little saw for logging. Just did my cs30 with it.
  7. jon, have a look in machine mart, i think they do something around the £100 quid mark.
  8. Wow, that place looks picturesk, where is it ?
  9. Why not have a look at the makita range. Bit cheaper than the orange two.
  10. Put your wages up man. Surely if you contract to one person all the time, then by rights you should be deemed as employed.
  11. Any one do tai-chi, i've fancied doing this for a while now.
  12. Yep ! makes sense to me too.
  13. Too true, these days as well as proving your a qualified tradesman, you now need add on's like cscs, 1st aid, asbestos awareness, where the hell will it end. I'm quite happy making gates, animal houses etc in my garage if i could earn enough.
  14. Go for it, i've never driven one but always liked the look of them. If it's what you want then good luck and go get one.
  15. I failed my advanced city and guilds in carpentry & joinery, but it has not stopped me from earning a decent wage, and working on some very tricky jobs, and also jobs where i have felt privileged to work on projects of prestige. In my mind experience beats qualifications every time.
  16. Haha, i've always liked the look of them. Ideal for my allotment runs etc.
  17. It carnt be as cold as last saturday, when i was up at T Kirks. It was bloody freezing.
  18. I made my mam a new stepped planter for her garden. Got the wife a bottle of wine from the kids and made her brekkie in bed.
  19. Makita's are worth a look at, not as main stream as the orange 2, but they are worth considering. Quite a few have them on here including myself.
  20. Pie Eater beat me to it, but have you thought about the makita, not tried one personally, but heard good things about them.
  21. He is a sound guy tho'
  22. Hi all, today i passed my cs30 (or whatever its called now). I know its nowt to shout about passing the basic test, but i would still like to thank Jim Philpott (instructor) and Dave Booth (examiner) from TKF for their fantastic tuition and support whilst on the course. Thank you guys.
  23. I'm glad someone else asked the question I've been wondering the same thing:lol:
  24. TCD, where do you get your spare chains and bars from for your dolmars. I take it the same bars will fit makita's as well. I'm after a 15" bar and chain for my ea4300, and a 18" bar and chain for small milling with. cheers.
